Katie Price & victim blaming

Katie Price has been assaulted and has a "split eye".

However, the comments on Twitter are horrendous:

So many people calling her names, saying she probably deserved it because she's gobby etc.

I love Katie and I think it's hilarious people think pizza for Christmas Dinner = bad parenting 🤣

Whoops. I should not have quoted a post that was clearly going to be deleted. I never learn. Anyway. Parenting is hard and having disabled child is curve ball that no one knows how they will deal will. And I hope if she’s reading all this she sees the support as well as crap.

I'm glad the offending posts were repeated. And I hope that Katie Price is getting the help and support she needs.

Surely Christmas Day is about celebrating and festivities. If a family would enjoy pizza more than a full Christmas dinner, then why not have pizza?

I've nothing but support for Katie Price. The fact she's still alive when she's been the focus of public abuse for over a decade is incredible.

She is sadly really damaged both physically and mentally. Bouncing from bad to progressively worse with younger 'men' clearly only looking for money/bit of fame. Princess and Junior now live with Peter Andre but despite that and her 2 vulnerable kids living with her she still wants more children. She must have body dysmorphia as she has totally sabotaged her looks with surgery. What Katie needs is good, longterm counselling but I doubt she'll ever realise that.

What an awful thread. The poor woman has been assaulted to the point of needing hospitalisation and people are judging her as a parent. How is that relevant?
I noticed this yesterday on FB. There were a number of laughing emojis next to the news article. I did see that people were calling it out though.
I hope she recovers and moves on from her abuser. I doubt this is the first incident.

I feel really sorry for Katie Price, she must have been feeling for a long time that her life is just spiralling out of control and all she desperately wants is to be loved by someone genuine. I think she really needs to be on her own and just concentrate on herself and her kids. I think it would also really benefit her to step away from the media completely but I guess that's very difficult when you're a single parent and your career is based around it. I just feel sorry for her, she always seems really vulnerable even if she does often put on a front that she doesn't care.

Nobody ‘deserves’ to be attacked like that. I hope she gets the support she needs,, like any other woman in that situation. For what it’s worth, although not relevant to her being punched/slapped in the face, she comes across as a very caring mother to Harvey. It isn’t surprising her children from both partners live/ spend time with their fathers. Having to be around a sibling with SEN is tough, especially when they have meltdowns. It isn’t the child/YP’s with SEN fault, that is part of the condition but it must be hard/confusing to live with the violence without the usual discipline being applicable. I have a child with SEN (fortunately generally very gentle and calm) and the stories shared within SEN groups are heartbreaking. The violent outbursts triggered by seemingly minor things like loud noise are massive. We’d tell a woman to leave her partner ASAP if it was an adult attacking her and the children. It is a lonely path.

KP has a massive amount to deal with (like many) but she has stuck by her son. Nobody deserves the level of criticism directed at her, certainly not being blamed for someone else losing control and striking her.

We never have ‘Christmas dinner.’ We’re vegetarians and don’t like nut roasts, so we have a ‘party dinner’ of mini pizzas, sandwiches, cheese and pineapple sticks etc. Not really relevant though, I could serve my kids happy meals for Christmas dinner and it still wouldn’t have any bearing on whether or not I deserve to be abused.

I do agree that Katie needs some proper support, I hope she can get some and look forward to a better future.

Very sad and my heart goes out to her. Whatever anyone personally thinks of her she does not deserve the bike trolls and abuse.
