Hang them on hangers and leave the bathroom window open................

WideWebWitch · 24/04/2005 23:40

They're old enough to understand a take no prisoners approach aren't they? Go up and very calmly tell them that you don't want to hear from them again and if you do then...have you got something you can threaten that won't bother you but will silence them into submission?

Put a wash on then, the fastest one and tumble dry in the morning. Can you shut the door so you don't hear them?

LGJ · 24/04/2005 23:42

True, they won't smell then. The smell is only staleness. Well, y'know, and food and stuff!

Essbee, it depends on whether it will make you life easier or harder. I know getting them out of the door can seem hard but once they're gone. THEN you could sink into bed couldn't you? Whereas you couldn't if they were there.

LGJ · 24/04/2005 23:47

NO......... you can't keep them off, get up, get them out to school and then go back to bed.

Seriously, it would be a short term gain, they would be under your feet for the rest of the day.

Sorry if that was a bit blunt.............

WideWebWitch · 24/04/2005 23:48

See, LGJ and I agree!

WideWebWitch · 24/04/2005 23:49

I've got to go to bed, this is the latest night I've had in weeks and I have to be up in 6 hours so it's not a good idea. I wish I didn't get this second wind! Essbee, are you ok? Do you have a plan re the uniforms?

Essbee, I woke up worrying about your school uniforms, please update us if you have time later!

fairyfly · 25/04/2005 08:07

Essbee i think it is time you started realising what really makes you stressed and low ( on a practical level) and preventing those scenarios happening. Remeber next weekend to bung the uniforms directly in the wash on friday, then on the sunday it is one less thing playing on your mind and making you panic. Same with children , if you kept them off, tomorrow you would feel guilty, this afternoon you would be climbing the walls because your son would be bored and start seeking attention. Lying in bed all day is a sure fire way to make yourself feel dreadful. I know you do anyway but a walk in the sunshine and a sense of achievement is more likely to lift you up. Get your kids to school and then feel proud of yourself that you are strong and can keep them going in a routine even when you want to curl up.
I think it will really upset you and stress you out if the EWO is asking where your child is. Try and create some damage limitation.

Fio2 · 25/04/2005 08:17

essbee, i agree with fairyfly. You need to get the children out of the house if you want to go back to bed. i know you are depressed but I think it is better your son wears a dirty uniform and goes toschool rather than you keep him off for no apparent reason. Dont forget you had a social worker round the other week and they will be keping an eye on your sons attendence at school, maybe? I hope your day gets better xx
