Hello. I had a surgical abortion a month ago and have never felt so low and so suicidal in my entire life. Please someone help me

No I haven’t talked to a doctor yet. I thought i would be ok afterwards but I was pressured into having an abortion. I didn’t want to do it. I miss my baby. I was 5 weeks but that doesn’t matter. I feel like I can’t feel happiness anymore and it’s killing me

Coerced abortion is abuse. You are struggling because it’s multiple traumas . Please please tell the professionals absolutely everything as you will need specialist support and therapy

Summersam97 · 14/02/2025 11:48

@DaisyChain505 struggling again. I usually come on here when I’m at my wits end

Oh bless you, I am sorry to hear you’re struggling again. Are you having any therapy? Sending you lots of 💐🌸

Summersam97 · 20/02/2025 03:38

I’m not getting any therapy unfortunately at the moment. I’m not sure what kind of therapy I should be getting.

I’m so sad to see you’re feeling awful still. I know it seems impossible right now but life WILL get so much better.

OP just tell a GP urgently how you’re feeling so they can refer you, or if you have the means, seek out private talking therapy or counselling as a start.

praying for you x

Also i’d consider medication if you are feeling very low. I avoided antidepressants for years but they really did transform me (that and a lot of prayer) x

Summersam97 · 04/03/2025 03:13

My antidepressants are doing a decent job as far as my anxiety. I decided to go with a functional medicine doctor to test my hormones. I am doing much better than I was in December that was the worst time of my entire life. I wouldn’t say I’m anywhere near happy but it’s getting a tad better.

Glad to hear you're a bit better. Good idea getting hormones tested - the sudden drop can really be powerful. Keep looking for those glimmers of light.

I’m happy to announce I’m doing much better now . I literally thought I was going to escape that depression.

Really pleased to hear you are doing better now. I am sure that will help others who are in a dark place as it’s so hard to see a way out when you feel that way.

Did you find anything particularly helpful?

amispeakingintongues · 22/08/2025 22:58

Great update OP xx

Hello all! I wanted to personally thank everyone who took the time to message me, comment on this post and help me through my very very tough experience. If anyone is reading this post and you feel depressed I promise you it gets better. I sat on these threads and read them and prayed to god to feel better and got medication, went to church, got my hormones tested etc. my hormones eventually leveled out and returned to normal after about 7 months but that was the worst 7 months of my life and the fact I feel better is so amazing I can’t even believe I feel like me again. Hang in there if you’re a woman reading this post and you think it won’t get better. I also didn’t think it would get better and look at me now!

So glad to hear your update. Wishing you all the very best 😘

Summersam97 · 06/11/2025 01:30

What helped was just time and my hormones going back to normal. Also Zoloft 50mg eventually kicked in. It took about 7 months in total to start feeling better
