I’ve had a horrendous day with my anxiety today, came as a bit of a bolt in the blue. Woke up with a bad stomach (not unusual as I have IBS) and then started feeling a bit nauseous, which is a major trigger as I’m emetophobic and really struggle with not spiralling. Couldn’t eat much all day and ended up taking to bed this afternoon after lots of tears. Now feel like I’m going hot and cold, but DH says I feel cold when I say I’m cold and warm when I say I’m warm. I sometimes get bad goosebumps when I’m very anxious, so think it’s probably that and now I’m hyper aware of my body temperature and scared to come out from under the duvet in case it gets worse.

fara20 · 31/05/2024 00:09

Oh no, sorry to hear that @robinshields I hope you can get some rest. I had to look up what emetophobic is, and I can definitely sympathise with that.

I had my phone assessment for talking therapies today. An hour of talking about difficult things amid tears. I'm being referred for therapy, not sure what it will be yet.

ShannonReynolds · 31/05/2024 03:55

What is the best way to cope when suffering from anxiety/ anxiety attacks and just having baby via emergency c-section and I feel like I'm all over the place thinking I'm doing something wrong l, I simply just don't know what to anymore as I don't want to go back onto my tablets I want to be able to lose the weight as I'm just feeling like a flatten cake and that is also triggering how my anxiety

Ilovedogs1 · 31/05/2024 11:08

@robinshields how are you feeling today?
@ShannonReynolds when was your c section?

ShannonReynolds · 31/05/2024 11:09

My c-section was on the 26th may 2024

fara20 · 29/05/2024 13:53

@JamSandle I've always been bad at formal interviews. I don't know how to sell myself and I feel awkward. They asked me a question I wasn't prepared for and I totally blundered it.

When will you find out?

JamSandle · 31/05/2024 19:09

How is everyone doing?

I'm still missing my ex and very sad. Fridays are a hard day for me.

fara20 · 31/05/2024 19:19

JamSandle · 31/05/2024 19:08

When will you find out?

Monday or Tuesday I think. I've got an interview on Monday that I'm travelling down Sunday for, and another one on Wednesday on Teams. I spoke to someone from the National Careers Service and she gave me some good tips how to prepare better. And I got my hair cut.

Helplessandheartbroke · 31/05/2024 21:53

Hi all sorry I've been absent were away so trying to focus on family time and be off my phone.

@JamSandle it's a grieving process, unfortunately you need to ride the waves. I hope you can have a nice weekend and try to relax x

@robinshields sorry you're having a rough time. Try and take some duvet time and get some Netflix on if you can x

@Ilovedogs1 I sympathise I feel very similar right now. Can you get on a nice walk this weekend and take your mind off things? X

@ShannonReynolds have you tried therapy? Do you think it's post natal or something else? X

@fara20 have a little faith in yourself. You're doing great x

Hope everyone's OK. @snowfoxglove it's been a while? X

Hello, how is everyone?

@Helplessandheartbroke I hope you're having a nice break with the family. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement.

@robinshields How are you feeling today?

@JamSandle I hope you're OK today. As @Helplessandheartbroke says - it is like a grieving process. It's hard to stop beating yourself up about mistakes, I know.

I took my car for MOT today, it needed 2 new tyres to pass, but it could have been much worse.
On the whole my anxiety level has decreased a little, and I've had more sleep the last 2 nights, which helps. Also I was busy at work yesterday so I didn't have time to sit and be anxious. Next thing is tomorrow's travel and Monday's interview. It would make a big difference to get this contract work as I wouldn't be so worried about my financial situation. So i better do some more interview prep!

robinshields · 01/06/2024 13:33

@Helplessandheartbroke @fara20 @Ilovedogs1 thanks for asking, had a pretty grim day yesterday but feeling a bit better this morning. DH had to get a bit stern that I hadn’t eaten enough for several days and that wasn’t helping so I managed to eat soup and bread last night he made and I think some nutrition did help. Just wish my gastro symptoms weren’t so intense as it’s such a vicious cycle.

@fara20 glad to hear you’ve had some more sleep, that really does help. Fingers crossed for the interview, do you know what sort of thing they will ask?

@Helplessandheartbroke hope you had a good time away?

@Ilovedogs1 how are you feeling today? Hope you’re on an upwards trend too

fara20 · 01/06/2024 22:45

@robinshields I'm glad you're a bit better and your DH is taking care of you.

I'm not sure what sort of questions I will get. It's a project coordinator role with some finance tasks. I was recommended a youtube channel called careervidz and I've been watching lots of his videos and writing notes.

Helplessandheartbroke · 02/06/2024 00:35

Thanks both @fara20 good luck for tomorrow! @robinshields one step at a time x

Yay to a hair cut. Always makes you feel fresher. Update us when you know the outcome. Come what may, you did your best. Well done!

JamSandle · 02/06/2024 10:36

I've got PMS and a cold and still feeling very sad. Trying to just sit with it but it's hard. He was such a wonderful guy and I really worry I won't meet someone who loved me as he did. I wish I'd appreciated and respected him.

fara20 · 02/06/2024 11:30

Thank you @JamSandle I have a lot of anxiety today. That the taxi won't show up, that the train will be too hot, and on and on. I hate being like this.

robinshields · 02/06/2024 11:34

@fara20 anxiety around travel can be horrid! What time are you setting off? I find it helpful to make sure I’ve got a really cold bottle of water to take onto any train with me, both to drink and to put against my face / neck if I feel too warm.

fara20 · 02/06/2024 11:44

The taxi is booked for 12.15. Which is probably too early but I'd rather be early. I've had a bottle of water in the fridge but not sure how long it will stay cold.
I don't feel ready for any of this!

fara20 · 02/06/2024 11:47

@JamSandle I know it's hard - I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better, that wouldn't just sound like an annoying cliche.

robinshields · 02/06/2024 11:47

Yes definitely better to be early!

Is it a direct train or do you have to change?

Have you got something to keep you occupied on the train? I’ve started only buying trashy magazines when I’m travelling to try and make it feel more of a treat

fara20 · 02/06/2024 11:59

There's one change. I have loaded up on podcasts to listen to and I have a book if I can be bothered to read it. And my notebook with my interview notes in it.

fara20 · 02/06/2024 13:07

Oh ffs, just switched on ipod and nothing on it

robinshields · 02/06/2024 13:10

Oh no! I don’t know enough about iPods to know if that’s something that can be easily sorted

Hope the taxi journey went okay

fara20 · 02/06/2024 13:22

I won't be able to sort till I get home. Wish I brought my laptop now. It was hot in the taxi.
