Crisis team

Olimar · 06/01/2024 15:51

I've been put under the crisis team again. I don't need them, I'm not depressed or suicidal. I had to agree to have them to get out of hospital, otherwise they were going to section me. Now they are telling me I need to sleep and that all humans need to sleep. Well I don't so maybe I'm not human, I mean I don't remember being born so I could have come from another planet instead.

Oh my lovely, it seems like you might be manic. It's so hard to see this when you're experiencing it, but I promise you.. you ARE human and you certainly do need sleep. In fact, you will probably feel a lot better when you do get some much needed rest 🩷

MissyB1 · 06/01/2024 19:23

I really hope you choose to engage with the crisis team, that you take your medication, and that you start to recover soon. Wishing you all the best.

Whatsthestorynow · 06/01/2024 19:24

Keep talking to us on here if you can OP. Lots of people that understand & have been where you are.

CCmumsnet · 06/01/2024 20:26

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our www.mumsnet.com/webguide/mental-health Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

@Olimar do you have any friends or family that you trust? - maybe you could get in touch with them and just have a chat?

Scutterbug · 06/01/2024 20:32

I think you might be having a psychotic episode having come off your aripiprizole. You sound like I did in November when I was sectioned. I know you feel you are being watched but is there a family member you can chat to who you trust? How often are the crisis team visiting you?

setmestraightplease · 06/01/2024 20:55

Just wondering if all the PP telling the OP that they are having a psychotic episode/ manic episode / etc is actually helping? - because someone having a psychotic episode doesn't recognise that and is likely to just dismiss anyone who is saying that as being ' someone who just doesn't understand' And, therefore, is less likely to listen to any advice given.
And if it sounds like nobody understands, it just reinforces Olimar's feelings of paranoia

@Scutterbug what happened in November when you were sectioned? - did you listen to anyone who said you needed medication?

Those like OP who have come off their medication aren't going to respond to logical arguments of what's happening - if they haven't got family and friends around to take care of them and see what's happening, the sad truth is that they're at risk until SS or Mental Health Services can intervene

I had no choice but to listen as they sectioned me. It’s strange when you are psychotic. You just have a different view of reality and become very paranoid about everyone. I thought my husband was working with my CMHT to kill me and that I needed to kill them first. You are probably right that I wouldn’t listen to people telling me I was psychotic although now I realise I was. It is very tricky. I hope the OP gets the right support.

Infertilitylady · 06/01/2024 21:06

@Scutterbug wow ! How did you stop killing your husband at the end with thoughts like this !? Soo scary omg

setmestraightplease · 06/01/2024 21:06

@Scutterbug thank you for your honesty , and I hope all is well with you now? :) x

I too hope @Olimar is able to get the support they need

I was sectioned. My psych raised concerns and I was assessed the next day and sectioned under section 2.

Olimar · 06/01/2024 21:52

I haven't read all the replies on this thread as I'm out at the moment. But I'm definitely not manic or psychotic and I am thinking clearly. In fact I am thinking better than I ever have done now I'm med free. Like I said before I don't need the crisis team, I just had to agree to them so I could get out of hospital.

Thank you for updating us. Have a good evening and I hope your visits from the crisis team go ok x

Olimar · 06/01/2024 22:19

I'm having a fantastic evening. I'm at the beach watching out for boats coming in. Going to take a walk up the river soon.

OP posts:
setmestraightplease · 06/01/2024 22:33

I've always loved the sea - where are you watching the boats? I used to live in the North-East and go to the beach at Tynemouth and North Shields, Whitley Bay ..... I used to love it there as a child - watching the sea was so peaceful!
Enjoy your walk up the river afterwards :)

Olimar · 06/01/2024 23:04

I live in a port town on the south coast but I've been to Whitby before.

Hope you got home safely @Olimar

Olimar · 07/01/2024 01:06

@Flowersbutpain the police were tracking me everywhere I went using the GPS on my phone. I tried to get away from them but they caught me.

Sorry to hear that @Olimar
Have they taken you to hospital?

Olimar · 07/01/2024 01:20

@Flowersbutpain no they gave me the choice of hospital or home so of course I chose home. Waiting here a bit before I go back out.

Please be careful @Olimar if you are wandering around in the dark by yourself. Maybe wait til it gets light before you go out again?

I've never been to Whitby - The only thing I know about it is it's meant to be really good for fish and chips 😎
Did you like it?

Olimar · 07/01/2024 02:25

@setmestraightplease I don't remember too much about my trip there, it was a long time ago. I remember it being a lot of steps up to a church on a hill, so I didn't do that part. And also it has something to do with Dracula.

OP posts:
setmestraightplease · 07/01/2024 02:33

@Olimar I didn't know it had something to do with Dracula - off to do some Googling!

How are you doing now? Are you snuggled up all nice and cosy at home?
