Crisis team

I've been put under the crisis team again. I don't need them, I'm not depressed or suicidal. I had to agree to have them to get out of hospital, otherwise they were going to section me. Now they are telling me I need to sleep and that all humans need to sleep. Well I don't so maybe I'm not human, I mean I don't remember being born so I could have come from another planet instead.

@Olimar I hope you're doing ok.

Maybe go back to your previous threads here on MN and just read them through? - they'll help you and give some insight/reminders into possible ways forward.

There was lot of support for you then and there's still a lot of support here for you now xx

Flowersbutpain · 10/01/2024 20:51

Hi @Olimar
Did you manage to get out or have you got a 28 day section now?

Scutterbug · 10/01/2024 20:56

I’ve also been wondering how you are @Olimar . Sending love.

Olimar · 11/01/2024 13:04

I got out of the 136, but now I'm in another hospital. They have me an injection o haloperidol and I sleep for 10 hours. Trying to escape but they're called security.

Sleep is good. I would say best not to try and “escape” or you might end up back on a section. Need to work with them. Wishing you well.

Scutterbug · 11/01/2024 13:43

sleep is a healer so they say. I’m on haloperidol daily, makes me very sleepy. Thanks for updating, I hope things improve for you x

Olimar · 11/01/2024 17:14

They won't listen to me that I don't need sleep that's why they forced me to have the injection. I hate it here, so boring and no one talks to me.

Hospital is horrible, have they sectioned you? I know how you feel, you just get ignored. Can you work with them to get released sooner? Last time I was in (November) I just agreed with everything they said and they lifted the section after 5 days and sent me home with discharge in under two weeks. It meant I was still unwell when I came out but at least I wasn’t in hospital. If you agree to medication then they might let you out quicker. You can have haloperidol in tablet form like I do. I take it at night so I’m less sedated in the day. Keep updating us x

Thinking about you @Olimar
It’s a long time since I’ve been in an NHS psych ward so it might be worse now but aren’t there any interesting other patients to talk to?

Olimar · 13/01/2024 09:38

I'm not on a ward I'm on a 136 suite on my own..

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 13/01/2024 12:09

Thinking of you too OP. Hope you’re not there too long

Scutterbug · 13/01/2024 12:12

Are they trying to find you a bed on a ward?

Olimar · 14/01/2024 18:31

@Scutterbug I don't know I have to wait to see the doctor tomorrow. Last time I was sectioned I spent over 9 weeks in the 136. I'm so lonely and bored.

OP posts:
Scutterbug · 14/01/2024 19:45

@Olimar im so sorry, I’ve no experience of being stuck in the 136, I thought you could only stay there a few hours until you had an assessment and then you would either be sectioned and put in a ward or sent home? Are you in the uk? I really hope that you get somewhere with some company soon. What are you hoping for from the dr tomorrow?

Wolfiefan · 14/01/2024 21:23

Maybe there is no one available over the weekend to assess you. Hoping the doctor arrives bright and early Monday morning and you make progress. Offering a virtual handhold and company.

setmestraightplease · 14/01/2024 22:14

Are you definitely on a section 136 ward@Olimar ?

I'm glad though that you're allowed access to your phone - that must help a bit because you can keep in touch with family and friends.

What have the police/ doctors/medical staff said in their latest update?

setmestraightplease · 14/01/2024 22:22

@Scutterbug they lifted the section after 5 days and sent me home with discharge in under two weeks. It meant I was still unwell when I came out but at least I wasn’t in hospital. If you agree to medication then they might let you out quicker. You can have haloperidol in tablet form like I do. I take it at night so I’m less sedated in the day.

How are you feeling now? Are you still feeling unwell or is your medication working?

Scutterbug · 14/01/2024 22:25

@setmestraightplease i think I’m becoming unwell again. I’ve posted a thread about it so I don’t detract from OP and her issues. Thank you so much for asking x

Olimar · 15/01/2024 10:37

I was assessed on Friday and put on a section 2 but they have kept me in the 136 room most of the time since. I was allowed onto the main ward for an hour on Saturday but got dragged back in here for apparently acting inappropriately.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 15/01/2024 12:29

Did they say what was inappropriate?

Olimar · 15/01/2024 21:52

I don't know. I was allowed another hour on the ward today but I was supervised at all times by staff. I also got given a jigsaw, a book and a newspaper.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 15/01/2024 22:34

Good you made it back on the ward.

Scutterbug · 15/01/2024 22:37

@Olimar im glad they’ve given you something to do. Are you on new medication?

Olimar · 16/01/2024 21:24

They made me have my aripiprazole depot and want me to start taking Lamotrigine again.

OP posts:
Scutterbug · 16/01/2024 21:28

@Olimar and how do you feel about that? Does it seem like something you would do willingly? I switched from aripiprizole to haloperidol but I do take lamotrigine too. Apparently it stabilises my mood (not that I’ve noticed anything different but I take it at the moment to keep them quiet!)
