I couldn’t see a recent one of these so thought I’d start one.

I just feel I need to do something positive so will hopefully share some more thoughts later that I hope will help - others as well as myself.

In the meantime, feel free to check in as, if nothing else, it helps to feel less alone.

It's true, the advice I get, too, is that if I would build my self-confidence and low self-esteem that it would help. I also have no idea what's the formula Confused

Ilovedogs1 · 07/02/2024 12:21

@snowfoxglove 🤷‍♀️.

Ilovedogs1 · 07/02/2024 12:23

How is everyone today?

Jk24 · 07/02/2024 12:37

Not too bad. How are you both today?

Ilovedogs1 · 07/02/2024 13:01

I'm ok. Do you ever get that feeling like your head is full of cotton wool. I feel like that. Like brain fog. I suppose it's the anxiety, trying to implement my therapy tools and trying to get my head around a new job. 🤯

Jk24 · 07/02/2024 13:05

Quite often. Have you tried the 'take your thoughts to court' method? There's always going to be anxiety around starting a new job. Even for people who don't usually suffer. Completely natural I would say x

snowfoxglove · 07/02/2024 13:34

Ugh sorry to hear that @Ilovedogs1 I know the feeling of brain fog/cotton wool well.

I'm ok thank you for asking @Jk24 How are you doing today?

Jk24 · 07/02/2024 13:42

@snowfoxglove thank you. I'm not doing bad after my wobble the other day :) my colleague told me today its like I'm back in the room! X

Dawn1331 · 07/02/2024 14:06

I feel off today kinda disassociation- hoping it's just the med change x

Jk24 · 07/02/2024 14:07

@Dawn1331 yes you found us!!! Haha the ladies on this thread are wonderful x

Jk24 · 07/02/2024 16:06

I would post this on the parents board

Jk24 · 08/02/2024 08:18

Morning ladies, my anxiety is through the roof this morning. Do you think when I go on the 60mg of fluoxitine next week it will help or shall I still consider asking for propranolol? I feel guilty for having a couple of ok days and feel really down and sad. Hope everyone else is OK x

Ilovedogs1 · 08/02/2024 10:01

@Jk24 sorry to hear that. I've never had propranolol so can't help there. Are you having to work today or can you try some relaxation techniques?

Jk24 · 08/02/2024 10:08

@Ilovedogs1 thank you. No I'm working. Waiting on occupational therapy to get in touch to see where they can help with maybe some flexibility. How are you? X

Ilovedogs1 · 08/02/2024 10:37

Not anxious as such but very unmotivated, almost numb like. Everything seems like an effort. Just feeling a bit blank. Thoughts very much there but in the background. Just trying to ride the wave and see where it goes. Like @snowfoxglove said the other day about that radio show. If we're not bouncing around happily it feels wrong but a lot of the time its just being human.

Jk24 · 08/02/2024 10:57

Youre right. Thank you. It's just deflating isn't it.

@Takemeback2thestart how did it go with the gp?

Tarsandcase · 08/02/2024 11:34

My GP was really nice this morning. The waiting room was absolutely heaving and my appointment was 30 mins late but she still took time to listen to me and discuss my options. She told me how to self-refer for local mental health support, prescribed Sertraline, and will be calling in two weeks to see how I'm getting on.

nopenotplaying · 08/02/2024 11:48

I've been struggling for the last 20 years but in the last 2 it's got so much worse. My current medications are:

200mg sertraline
Pregabalin 200mg ON
Clomazepam 2mg ON
Clomazepam half 500mg tablet 3 x day
Ferrous sulphate
Vitamin D

Why am I not feeling better 😭

Ilovedogs1 · 08/02/2024 12:37

@nopenotplaying oh no. That's a fair bit. Do you have a diagnosis?

Jk24 · 08/02/2024 12:46

@Takemeback2thestart good to hear! Get on the meds and give it a few weeks. How are you feeling? @nopenotplaying sorry to hear this. Has there been a trigger for you in the last 2 years?

Ilovedogs1 · 08/02/2024 12:50

Does anyone know what this blank feeling is? It feels weird . Like I've been switched off. 😬

Jk24 · 08/02/2024 13:01

@Ilovedogs1 a coping mechanism? Meds? X

Ilovedogs1 · 08/02/2024 13:44

@Jk24 do you think it's a good thing or a bad thing?

nopenotplaying · 08/02/2024 14:09

My diagnosis is depression, anxiety, potential bipolar and anemia.

I'm under the care of a consultant psychiatrist. I had twins in 2019 so not sure if that was the beginning of it, post natal depression perhaps?

My consultant said to call him in 4 weeks if I don't feel better and he will 'tag on' another anti depressant. No idea what this would be. Does anyone have a similar medication plan to mine?

Does this help or ring true?
