Has anyone had any great break through on anxiety meds? Been on citalopram and sertraline but didn't help and made me feel numb x

I was on anti depressants, thankfully due to CBT no more. Whatever the research CBT worked for me.

Dawn1331 · 14/08/2023 14:20

@mbernue propanalol doesn't affect your mind as such and works well. Stop talking rubbish

No way, when I asked GP about 4 years ago to be put back on them he told me they'd been blacklisted. I just left with nothing as I'd had all different types and venlafaxine was the only one that worked. Glad they're back then and hope they work as good for you as they did me

Dawn1313 I agree with you. Mertazapine works for me and I no longer suffer panic attacks and anxiety is under control. Also take citalopram. But weight gain on it can't seem to shift.

I don't know what they are like so can't comment. But I have some and can't get past the anxiety to start them! So frustrating and feel so silly! Don't know why I'm so worried.

Medication (citalopram) has worked brilliantly for me, life changing.

And me

SapphosRock · 15/08/2023 11:12

Fluoxetine has been a big breakthrough for me. 20mg a day and anxiety has pretty much gone.

I probably cry a bit less but still feel the normal ups and downs of emotion.

Dawn1331 · 15/08/2023 14:52

@TheBuggerlugs hubby working but at the end of the phone. Fingers crossed it helps!
@Dowtcha @TheSkull it didn't help me I was on it for a year and all symptoms heightened.
@SapphosRock that's great! I'm hoping for the same x

Day 11. I’m a mess. Crying non stop, can’t sleep, can’t eat. Just not functioning. Went on them for anxiety and I’m so much worse now.

GP prescribed zopiclone yesterday. I managed three hours sleep last night which is an improvement. I’m on 10mg. We’ve decided to drop to 5 for a couple of days to see if it will help me sleep.
I just feel so broken and useless. I should be doing stuff with my children and all I do I is cry and look myself away. I went on this for panic attacks and now feel so much worse.
