Has anyone had any great break through on anxiety meds? Been on citalopram and sertraline but didn't help and made me feel numb x

@Dawn1331 the only thing that has worked for me was fluoxetine but they don't seem to prescribe it anymore 🤔

LizzieSiddal · 13/08/2023 19:22

@Dawn1331 citolaprqm really well for me but only 10mgs. I was on 20mgs but felt too numb, cut it in half and felt much better- very calm and able to deal with everyday life.

Why is it so hard to get the right meds? Too many pharmaceutical companies making money

I'm trying my sixth this year. Paroxetine.

BarbaraV · 13/08/2023 19:45

Propranalol worked like a charm for me.

MinnieTruck · 13/08/2023 19:46

When you say it makes you feel numb what do you mean?

Dawn1331 · 13/08/2023 19:52

I haven't tried either of these!

I don't feel true joy, don't cry either just flat

Propranolol. Life saver for me recently.

Haggisfish3 · 13/08/2023 19:59

Duloxetine has been like an anxiety tap turned off. It doesn’t take me numb like fluoxetine did. I felt unable to feel really happy as well as unable to feel really sad when I was on fluoxetine.

Dawn1331 · 13/08/2023 20:06

Same no joy or true sadness x

Fluoxetine and Propanolol for me

Seaswimmingforthesoul · 13/08/2023 20:14

No. The best thing for me was therapy, meditation, mindfulness, Yoga and cutting down alcohol. Sertraline made me numb. I do find that diazepam helps when I am.on the brink of a panic attack.

Because you need to improve your life and have lots of talking therapy.

Dawn1331 · 13/08/2023 21:03

I'm in therapy, my life is great after a lot of loss and I attend group chat

Good. Well you know not to relay on medication. It doesn't work.

Haggisfish3 · 13/08/2023 22:37

It absolutely does work for a lot of people.

Does it though? Or does life get a little bit less stressful and the mind is number.....

Haggisfish3 · 13/08/2023 22:46

they definitely work for me and my life is good.

Do some research on how they "work".

Medication (citalopram) has worked brilliantly for me, life changing.

LightSpeeds · 13/08/2023 22:54

Fluoxetine - worked like a miracle for me.

Devilsmommy · 13/08/2023 23:25

Venlafaxine was the only one that worked for me, but it's been blacklisted now apparently

Dawn1331 · 14/08/2023 07:24

I think when you have tried every therapy I would rather be on medication and be able to function than be in a constant state of terror
