Thanks @Skyliner001. Glad that Sertraline is making a difference. Question - how do people distract themselves when they sense they’re starting to spiral? Or is it impossible?

Dollsandfoo · 03/05/2021 09:28

I'd love to know how people stop them selfs spiralling aswell because I just can't at the moment am literally going from one thing to the next daily its draining me. I don't want my life to be like this. Its so bloody stupid I know it is but I just can't stop myself 😪

HildegardeCrowe · 03/05/2021 10:11

I’m with you @Dollsandfoo. I’m finding that medication helps a bit but I know it’s not the long-term answer. Am also re-reading the Power of Now to see if I can gain any inspiration! I’ve just mindfully straightened my hair which took my mind off things for all of 10 minutes 🙄

Redheadedscarecrow · 03/05/2021 10:22

Hi everyone, I am a lurker of this thread but just wanted to offer some advice to those wondering how to break the cycle of anxiety. Obviously this is what helps me most of the time but what we need to remember is that anxiety is built in us for the fight flight response so will be a pain in the arse sometimes even when we think we tamed the beast! If I start to spiral I acknowledge whats happening and then think of the more positive alternative to the cause of the problem. I make a plan to distract for a few days and then I can see if the issue is still there then. In the meantime I do yoga and breathe along with positive affirmations and focus on what is positive right now. A lot of it for me is based on fear of illness or death, so I try to accept that nothing is guaranteed/controllable, but think of what is in my control. Sorry if this sounds obvious/unhelpful this is just what helps me. X

Redheadedscarecrow · 03/05/2021 10:23

Also try and fill time with things I love

Dollsandfoo · 03/05/2021 10:40

@Redheadedscarecrow thank you I definitely need to try this. X

HildegardeCrowe · 03/05/2021 10:44

Very helpful @Redheadedscarecrow. I too have acknowledged that my HA comes from being terrified of incurable illness and death. Off for a dog walk now - will smell the roses!

EXA1912 · 03/05/2021 10:51

Hey @tmh88 I’m not so great, had a surgical termination on Saturday, I spoke to my Gp numerous times and as I’m already having Gynae issues that are probably going to require surgery i just had to choose the safest option. Feeling sad but I know it was best for the family and I can move forward with hopefully getting my Gynae issues sorted. Gp said maybe in the future when my body is able to carry another baby we could try again but I don’t feel like I can now, think our family is complete and I need to focus on getting myself right again and happy again. Hope I haven’t offended anyone I know some people aren’t so pro choice, just didn’t feel I had an option in the circumstances and my Gp didn’t either. Hope everyone is doing ok xx

Dollsandfoo · 03/05/2021 11:02

@EXA1912 so sorry can't imagine what a hard decision it must have been for you. Fingers crossed you get sorted now and things started to get better xxx

HildegardeCrowe · 03/05/2021 12:30

You’ve done the right thing @EXA1912 but it must have been a difficult decision. At least you xan move forward now x

tmh88 · 03/05/2021 14:10

@Redheadedscarecrow will give all that a try! Thanks!

@EXA1912 so sorry to hear that, you have definitely done the right thing for you and your family, I really do hope your ok ❤️ Xx

I have really quite large breasts I’m an E/F cup but lately I have noticed I have blue veins on them does anyone else have visible blue veins? I am very pale and I feel like I noticed them a long time ago but it’s freaking me out!

polkadotpixie · 03/05/2021 15:00

@tmh88 I have blue veins on mine too, they're always more noticeable after ovulation but before my period

argueifnecessary · 03/05/2021 15:11

@EXA1912
I also think you did the right thing for you and your family and hopefully you can get the other issues sorted soon too. X
@tmh88
I just noticed the veins yesterday but then I remembered I'm still breastfeeding.

I'm really struggling though. My neuro symptoms are back, I feel like my head is shaky when I'm lying down and I have weird sensations on the left side of my head. Kind of itchy and numb.
I feel like I'm sat in a black room with all walls closing in on me. Yesterday I was thinking about the messages and presents I could leave my children for when I'm gone.

And I was doing so well already...

HildegardeCrowe · 03/05/2021 15:34

@tmh88, 32FF here, extremely too heavy and hate it. If I had the spare cash I’d have a breast reduction in a flash. And yes am pale and have visible blue veins on mine too. Funnily enough, I seem to have noticed them suddenly but am sure I’ve always had them. One less thing to worry about 😊

MrsWhites · 03/05/2021 15:52

@Skyliner001 glad to hear you are doing well at the moment!

@EXA1912 very sorry to hear that, hoping you are doing ok today!

@tmh88 I get veins in my boobs too, especially before my period. I think it’s a hormone thing because both times I’ve been pregnant that’s been my first symptom, loads of veins!

Loobylou1987 · 03/05/2021 16:46

I went to a chiro who told me my leg pain was from misaligned hips but I’m still freaking out in case it’s something deadly. I’ve had it since September on and off and now my hip hurts. I’ve also got fallen arches on feet.

I’ve also got really bad tensed neck muscles he said my posture is really poor but I’m now convinced I have a brain tumour that’s pushing on a nerve in neck and shoulder idk ahh help

Loobylou1987 · 03/05/2021 16:49

What gyneo issues you having? I spot before my period they think mines hormonal, I’ve had ultrasound and ct scan and just had a smear test!

EXA1912 · 03/05/2021 16:57

Thanks everyone.

@Loobylou1987 I have been having haemorrhaging periods every month for a few months and needed admission to hospital for blood transfusions, they think it’s due to problems with my ligaments inside that hold up my womb and adhesions from prior pelvic surgery....it’s under investigation but they think the lax ligaments have caused an internal prolapse which is pressing on my bowel which makes me unable to open my bowels or pass wind very easily. I was due a laparoscopy this month for it but they won’t do it if I’m pregnant and if I carried on they said they doubt it would have ended well. My last daughter I couldn’t walk with and they said I nearly have a womb rupture with so I just thought I can’t continue 😔 xx

RainOnMe79 · 03/05/2021 17:08

My new anxiety is my back; I keep having awful back ache, not painful just an ache and I've convinced myself it's a tumour SadI cant cope living like this any longer. Every pain or ache I cry thinking it's something.
I think I'm going to call GP tomorrow, I can't see an end to it

Loobylou1987 · 03/05/2021 17:24

I’m same I’ve had shoulder pain on and off for years

Dollsandfoo · 03/05/2021 17:28

@tmh88 yep am 36gg and I have the blue venison in mine. I hate my boobs.
I suffer leg pain and back aches aswell and have convinced myself at times that it must be something awful. 😪

whataballbag · 03/05/2021 17:30

Can I join in? I have pretty bad health anxiety - not sure if this threat will help or hinder it but it's worth a try!

Latest is obsessing over the AstraZeneca. I'm 29 and had the first dose in feb but terrified about the second due to clots, but also terrified I'll die of covid if I don't get it. Damned if you do and damned if you don't it seems

whataballbag · 03/05/2021 17:31

But just to add, I too am large of nork and very pale, have always had visible veins

Daisylion · 03/05/2021 17:36

@argueifnecessary I know it's hard to believe but that really sounds like anxiety to me. I had some heart problems recently and was getting tremors/vibrations at night, weirs pulsing twitch in the bad of my head and my eye twitched non-stop for 3 weeks. I was totally convinced I had Parkinsons. My heart issue got diagnosed and I was put on meds that stopped the symptoms and slowly slowly all the twitching/tremors got better and then stopped once I was feeling less anxious. I know it's hard but is there something else you can focus on every time you get the symptoms? I used to focus on my left toes (one of the few areas of my body I'm not anxious about!) and think about how they felt, move them about, and think only about my toes! It really helped.

People who mentioned stiff neck/shoulders you can get an electric massage machine thingy from Amazon and they are so good. I think they're caused Shiatsu massagers but they actually feel like a masseuse squeezing you and are really strong and effective.

AJ297 · 03/05/2021 19:08

Oh god I've been so good for so long! 🥺 I've got vagina worries!

I noticed when I was having a shower that I have little hard lumps under the skin just a bit further forward from the entrance to the vagina. When I was washing it just felt more textured but when I pinch the skin it feels like hard granules but tiny. When I've looked 😳 it looks like small white patches on the skin. Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

The doctors already looked at my boobs and bum, I'd rather not go again 😂
