@tmh88

It's good that you're able to laugh about it - I think we all need a sense of humour with this condition.

Couple of days ago I was scared by a sudden sharp back pain until I realised I was leaning onto something with a sharp edge. Sigh!

Dollsandfoo · 27/04/2021 20:10

I definitely get worse around my period. I have a bit of headache today and feel like my vision is a bit off . Am really tried from bit sleeping well so I know really that's why but obviously my mind has me thinking its something awful x

tmh88 · 27/04/2021 20:52

@EXA1912 sorry to hear how hard everything is for you at the minute, how are you doing now? Xx

@HildegardeCrowe how are you doing today?

Welcome to everyone new!

@HPFA yes it helps when others laugh at me too as it helps me realise how ridiculous I am!

@Dollsandfoo me too although I’m early this month which has thrown me!

@MrsWhites & @Skyliner001 haven’t seen you on here for a while hope your both ok!

Also @ofwarren I was thinking about you today! I have an appointment through to have my ear looked at next month and wondered how you was getting on x

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone!

Whoever put about pulsatile tinitus I get it occasionally too x

tmh88 · 28/04/2021 07:02

Morning everyone, hope you all have a good day x

MrsWhites · 28/04/2021 07:26

Morning @tmh88, sorry I haven’t posted for a while, I’ve been super busy and if I’m honest had a crappy month anxiety wise. My period is due in a couple of days and I usually feel better once that’s come so I’m hoping that resets my brain! 😂 How are you doing? x

Dollsandfoo · 28/04/2021 08:14

How do you all sleep. Am guessing its probably a stupid question. My body just will not let me sleep past 3am no matter what time I go to bed. I start work at 7 and am so tried but still my body will not let me sleep. X

HildegardeCrowe · 28/04/2021 08:19

Morning all, 10 cancers is pretty impressive @tmh88, I do hope your fears have abated a little. I’ve only got one at the moment 😕 Think
it’s a cold sore but it appeared very suddenly so of course I’m over-thinking. Hope everyone else is doing ok, I know a few of you are having a really tough time so please let us know how you’re getting on.

argueifnecessary · 28/04/2021 09:46

@Dollsandfoo
I slept terribly, I wake up every two hours like a baby. Luckily I was able to go back asleep not like yesterday night.
Then woke up with right eye pain so I currently "have" 2 cancers. The other one is metastatic hence the growths on my scalp

Dollsandfoo · 28/04/2021 10:15

@argueifnecessary its awful isn't it. I wonder if its a thing as you get older. I know my mum doesn't sleep great now days and I remember my nan used to get up at 5 every day even if she had no reason to. I blame every thing on my age at the moment. Am only 37 going on 90 🤣🤣

AJ297 · 28/04/2021 11:38

@HildegardeCrowe I don't suffer from cold sores but have had a huge red thing in the corner of my mouth for the last week that looks like a cold sore. It came on really suddenly and is going down now. I think it's probably the fluctuating temperatures and drying out more than usual.

HildegardeCrowe · 28/04/2021 12:56

Another bad sleeper here. To think back when I used to get woken by the alarm. Now it’s 5am every morning without fail. Well done for not panicking about your cold sore thingy @AJ297.

tmh88 · 28/04/2021 12:57

@MrsWhites period anxiety is horrible isn’t it! Even though you know it’s your period causing it you still question what if this month it isn’t 😂 x

@Dollsandfoo sometimes I struggle to sleep staying awake thinking and other times I drain myself that much I’m asleep by 8pm!

@HildegardeCrowe yes I got into such a state, all because I googled head and neck cancer symptoms! So naturally out of all the different types of cancers they are you can fit a symptom to all of them Blush I’m much better today! How are you doing?

HildegardeCrowe · 28/04/2021 13:01

Dr Google is the bain of our lives @tmh88! I can’t get off the sofa today and am fretting that I won’t get paid because I’ve been off sick, although I know I’m entitled to sick pay. Let’s add paranoia to the list of mental health problems 🤪

tmh88 · 28/04/2021 13:06

@HildegardeCrowe it really is! I think it should be illegal some of the websites online, I had a pop up the other week which said something stupid like “10 signs your common cold is cancer” I obviously didn’t read it but stuff like that should be banned somehow 😂 yes I’m a very paranoid person too! I’m anxious all round to be honest 😂

Dollsandfoo · 28/04/2021 13:59

Dr Google really is just the worst x

Someone once said if you asked Google why your car was making a funny noise it would come up with some terrible disease that the car had.

AJ297 · 28/04/2021 16:36

I've convinced myself I may have thyroid cancer because I can see my neck moving when I swallow. Realistically I know if it was a lump it would be more obvious and that everyone's neck moves when they swallow but my anxiety tells me I'm dying again 👌🏼🤦🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
tmh88 · 28/04/2021 19:26

@AJ297 my throat/neck moves when I swallow!

I’m worrying because past week or so I have had a weird pulling feeling in my right breast occasionally when I bend over etc! I’ve been really rational about it but it’s worrying me tonight for some reason!

argueifnecessary · 28/04/2021 20:20

I'm also having a bad day,.have pain again behind my right eye and feel as if I spent yesterday drinking. Also have a blocked nose and feel as if I've got a fever but don't.
So tired. Just want to escape from my body so that these thoughts couldn't catch me.

HildegardeCrowe · 28/04/2021 22:44

Yes it’s as if our bodies are holding us hostage @argueifnecessary. OK I’ve just had a look at my neck when I swallow @AJ297 (because I never have before), and of course it moves too! We are so good at telling ourselves stories and need to keep reminding ourselves that our fears are just thoughts.

Goolies · 29/04/2021 09:48

Morning ladies I hope you’re all doing ok. Sorry I’ve not been in much I’ve been stressing about my vulva burning. Still!

I’ve noticed some newbies! Welcome guys. This forum is a god send!

So yesterday I was messaging a friend talking about my vulva burning and she said make sure you get it checked you don’t want any surprises. Since then I’m spiralling.

I keep telling myself that it’s probably just irritation but you know how these things are.

Also a week before period so head is all over the place

Dollsandfoo · 29/04/2021 10:54

Hope everyone is doing ok today. My back is in bits at the moment which I have had for years suffer with sciatica and just general wear and tear from years of horse riding and work but today my mind is telling me it must be something really bad. Honestly this never ending battle with my mind is so draining. Am so worried am going to make my kids end up the same as me as much as I hide it from them the definitely pick up on things 😪

argueifnecessary · 29/04/2021 12:07

@Dollsandfoo
I was just thinking this half an hour ago. My mum definitely also has health anxiety and so did my grandmother. I was trying to think up ways to prepare my children not to have it. I thought maybe try and drill into them that whenever there's a symptom, go to the doctor's and until you have a diagnosis, don't worry.

HPFA · 29/04/2021 14:45

My mother also had it and passed it on - so far DD (age 16) doesn't seem to have it.

I just tried to be really really disciplined about keeping the worst from her - and not panicking about anything that went wrong with her. Also we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves! My mother used to regularly tell me how she was going to die and panic about every childhood illness I had. If our kids get no worse than wondering why Mummy is a bit tense sometimes that's still a hell of an improvement!

My mother was loving and I know she had a hard time but I do feel angry sometimes at this. I completely believe my HA is a learned behaviour - I don't think of it as an intrinsic part of my personality at all.

tmh88 · 29/04/2021 17:25

I do think a lot of mental health problems is hereditary, my mum really suffered with anxiety and my dad does still! My siblings are also quite anxious people, I would say I’m the worst one with it! However me and my siblings have all said in the past that we hope the kids don’t get our brains x
