Hi ladies, back again for thread number 3!

OP posts:
Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 14:28

@polkadotpixie let us know as soon as you know, thinking of you! You must be so stressed, but I expect it's just a formality to get her to review it. We are all thinking of you X

tmh88 · 26/02/2021 14:32

Sorry everyone there’s lots to catch up on,
Welcome to everyone new!

@ofwarren I have a thumping noise, jaw and ear pain, dizziness, sickness, making me w bit irritable strangely too etc! It’s temporary relieved by popping my ear and after half an hour or so I need to pop it again to try and take some of the symptoms away x

@polkadotpixie oh no, I completely understand the fear! I really am sure you will be ok, as hard as it is for us that worry Flowers xx

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 14:35

@polkadotpixie Just re read your post again, and definitely think it sounds like they have to get the registrar to review as they are more senior, it doesn't mean at all that it will be anything sinister. But it's good that they are being on the safe side!

polkadotpixie · 26/02/2021 14:40

I've seen the doctor again and they've taken blood to do a CA125 test for ovarian cancer markers

She said she thinks it is benign but I will have an urgent outpatient MRI and repeat ultrasound in 3-6 months

If the CA125 comes back normal (I should get the results at the beginning of next week) then she says I can stop worrying it's cancer and that it's just a cyst and to await the MRI with my mind at ease

ofwarren · 26/02/2021 14:48

@polkadotpixie Nothing worse than waiting for results is there 😔
I'm sure everything is fine but I know how stressful you will find this, as would all of us here.
The odds of it being bad are very small and even if it was, you caught it before any symptoms so it's easier to treat.
Fingers crossed for your blood test results so you get some peace of mind 🤞

StooriMidori · 26/02/2021 15:42

@TheSilentStars Thanks for the link, they look like they would do the trick!

@polkadotpixie I echo what others have said in that it's very unlikely you have ovarian cancer and it's probably a cyst. I had a look at the stats before too when it was my fear and the highest incidence is age over 75 and highest deaths is age over 85. There's very little cases caused by lifestyle factors and the biggest cause is age; for your age the incidence is 0.006%! I know I would be climbing the walls in your case so I understand the fear but hope the stats help.

@Skyliner001 i will join you for the non poke weekend! Let's do it xx

My update is that my appt for the breast clinic came through today. I got referred as non urgent 6 weeks ago. My GP said she didn't think I needed referred but that the peace of mind would help. My pain has decreased and thanks to that, good drugs (propranolol), and you lot, I've managed to get a bit of a hold on the anxiety, but of course now I'm panicking again thinking what if I they find something. Please send good booby vibes!

getmeacupoftea · 26/02/2021 15:53

@skyliner001

That's great news! And reassured me even further. Wish I could do the same for you!

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 16:05

Glad to hear @getmeacupoftea 😊 we're all here for each other here, it's funny because I think until you have something it's easy to imagine that you have it if that makes sense.

A lot of people who have had breast cancer say that until they had it they didn't really fully realise what it would feel like, or look like. Whereas I just think any lump, or any dimple, or stretchmarks could be breast cancer.

It's a nightmare isn't it, it feels so general the Internet, and it's so hard not to jump to the wrong conclusion.

Particularly for us health anxiety sufferers!

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 16:07

Also, if I hadn't had lymphoma I would properly freak out about my lymph nodes all the time!

So I do completely understand.

It's worth adding that when I did have lymphoma I had a cascade of other symptoms, I lost about a stone and a half, had crippling fatigue, and drenching night sweats. I was also incredibly pale.

And it was only stage two, so it wasn't like I had an advanced case.

But there was a lot going on outside of just a swollen nodes.

Interestingly, I also had extreme pain on drinking alcohol in the swelling itself. Like excruciating pain, I remember clutching at one of the massive lumps, and just wanting to get it sorted out!

The lumps visibly increased as well, in a matter of weeks.

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 16:08

😊

It feels quite therapeutic to write all that down, for many many years I couldn't even talk about it without being massively triggered.

tmh88 · 26/02/2021 16:23

Said it before and I’ll say it again @Skyliner001 you really are such a strong person Flowers

Wish we could all do a mumsnet health anxiety meet up Grin

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 16:28

@tmh88 I'd be so up for that!

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 16:28

And thank you DaffodilThanks

TheSilentStars · 26/02/2021 16:50

@Skyliner001 admire your strength too, thanks for sharing your story as it can't be easy but it's so helpful and reassuring. I feel you have much courage within Thanks

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 17:48

Thanks to everyone for being so kind! I think in some things I have been able to be strong, but then I am not in so many other things, glad if it has been at all helpful 😊😊

3boyshere · 26/02/2021 20:16

Hello lovely ladies I hope it is okay if I join you. At the moment I have awful constipation and I am convinced I have bowel cancer. I also have indigestion which I think has been brought on my stress I had a hysterectomy twelve months ago and feel by bowels have not been right since then. I am fed up of being sad. My MIL has cancer and only has a limited life expectancy which is devastating for us all I sometimes don't know which way to turn x

Skyliner001 · 26/02/2021 20:25

Welcome @3boyshere We are all in the same boat here and support each other 😊 There a few posters here with bowel related anxiety! Mine is mainly breast related but I think the stress is the same regardless of where the HA takes you! 😬

WasntItGood · 26/02/2021 20:45

@Skyliner001 you are amazing Thanks

3boyshere · 26/02/2021 21:30

@Skyliner001 thank you for your reply it would be lovely to have some support x

chorusline79 · 26/02/2021 21:45

@3boyshere welcome to the thread! Hopefully you find it a helpThanks. Sorry you are struggling, this sounds hard with your MIL.
Bowel problems are horrible, I do sympathise. I had lots of upset stomachs earlier in the year with stress from health anxiety and took ages for it to settle, so I do understand. I know there are others on the thread too who can give their experiences and support, but just wanted to say hi and welcome.

3boyshere · 26/02/2021 21:48

@chorusline79 thank you for you reply reading through the thread everyone seems lovely x

MrsWhites · 26/02/2021 22:27

I agree @Skyliner001 is incredibly strong!!

@polkadotpixie I have my fingers crossed for your blood test results!

Would love a meet up with you ladies! Maybe we’ll actually be allowed to meet up in more than groups of 6 at some point this year 😂

Hi everyone, I've missed so many messages!

Big hello to all the new people on the thread - this is a place full of lovely people so post away 😊

@polkadotpixie I know it's so hard but please try not to worry, and please don't feel you have to worry alone! Post as many messages here and there's always someone to respond to them if it helps you Thanks

Just had a really big flutter of heart palpitations - could possibly put it down to us having a really hard time with DD at the minute. Had them the other night too when I was in bed and relaxed... strange
