Hi ladies, back again for thread number 3!

OP posts:

I know that in our health anxiety minds we will think, well my nodes wouldn't be like that if I had lymphoma, perhaps I am the person who just has a tiny little node, and has lymphoma! As I am exactly the same about anything to do with my breasts… But I hope it helps a bit anyway!

MrsWhites · 15/02/2021 09:46

@Skyliner001 I get the scratch thing too, if I brush past a part of my breast when getting dressed or get an itch I often think oh what was that, was it a lump! I even struggle putting a bra on because in moving my breast into the cups I often convince myself I’ve felt something x

@Skyliner001 your such a strong human! Wish I knew you in real life! Flowers you’ve massively helped me this morning xx

Skyliner001 · 15/02/2021 13:24

@tmh88 That's lovely to hear! Thank you so much! The dream actually really helped me as well, it put things back in perspective on that front. That's why I wanted to share it 💚

Skyliner001 · 15/02/2021 13:25

@MrsWhites Glad it's not just me!

StooriMidori · 15/02/2021 15:08

@MrsWhites I'm the same with my bra! I do everything to avoid feeling boob pain as that just sets me off. I'm avoiding underwired bras just now and constantly slathering voltarol on 🙈

Had the intro CBT appt this morning. It was good to talk about things. I felt quite reassured that it's pretty normal to stress about health, especially after having children. She said that it's our internal warning system and that I've just conditioned my brain to shortcut to worst case scenario. I'm hopeful that I can retrain myself not to go full fight or flight at every twitch 🤞🏻🤞🏻

KasparKat · 15/02/2021 15:20

I gave myself a massive panic attack last night as there was a tiny bit of blood in the mucus when I coughed. Just before bed so I couldn't sleep and then had awful nightmares about being chased on a train and then my heart beating so fast that it stopped and I died! (In my dream obviously!).

This morning I blew my nose and it was full of blood (sorry). So I am telling myself that the blood in the mucus I coughed up probably came from my nose. And I would never worry about having blood in my snot (sorry again!). So I really don't need to worry do I?

All the mucus has since been clear so I am also telling myself that if I really did have a problem and was coughing up blood it would be really obvious and not come and go. And I don't even really have much of a cough. I ended up coughing last night as I was watching a funny video and laughed so much it made me cough.

My tight chest went completely in the past week when I was feeling more relaxed. Of course now its back again so that adds to the worries of having a blood clot in my lungs/cancer/lung damage from covid!

KasparKat · 15/02/2021 15:22

I tend to find lumps and bumps in my neck/collar bone when putting moisturiser on. I try to avoid it now unless my skin gets very dry.

Also, I'm the same with sometimes dreading weekends. It's half term this week and I have been worrying that I'm going to ruin it by obsessing over one health thing or another. I wish I could just enjoy my life!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 15/02/2021 18:23

All sorts of anxiety here today! Hoping everyone is ok! Funnily I've never had lymph node anxiety but my 19yr old daughter does and she doesn't know anything about my own health anxiety!

Baby is having her jabs early in the morning so I'm getting pretty stressed about that. I've booked them for 7:40am so I don't have any build up in the morning.

Stupid spotting/body trying to have a period is ongoing. I'm trying to be pragmatic and keep telling myself this is very common (as told by the doctor) And given my history highly, highly, highly likely just to be hormonal and I'm ok but my anxiety is sky high about it! Thinking that it's not going to stop them I'll have to contact the doctor about it again and how anxious all that is going to make me and what will they do etc etc etc.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 15/02/2021 18:25

@KasparKat I had a very similar thing with the blood in the mucus before now - it's my nose too. I also committed blood twice when I was pregnant with my 4yr old (I was VERY sick) - you've never seen a doctor be less interested!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 15/02/2021 18:28

*vomited not committed!!

KasparKat · 15/02/2021 19:20

Thanks, I'm telling myself it was from my nose but what if I have coughed up mucus with blood in from my lungs?! Argh. DH thinks I'm being ridiculous.

Skyliner001 · 15/02/2021 19:22

@onlyreadingneverposting8 just joining you on the spotting anxiety, my 48 hours of spotting turned out not to be ovulation, that came 10 days later. So no idea what it was! 👀 Trying not to worry, I have no kids or pregnancy but apparently it's still quite common. I hope!

ShopTillYouDropp · 15/02/2021 19:55

I've had a bad day today. I'm worried about my chest and breathless when I go for a walk Sad it's starting to cause problems with DH, who is probably sick to death of me

Skyliner001 · 15/02/2021 20:02

Oh @ShopTillYouDropp so sorry to hear about this. Breathlessness is so common but know it's scary. It's hard for people who don't suffer from health anxiety to understand us, we're all here to listen anyway. Sorry you are having such a bad time X

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 15/02/2021 20:08

@Skyliner001 in this together! Xx

StooriMidori · 15/02/2021 20:23

We're all in it together ❤️

@ShopTillYouDropp When my anxiety was at its worst I was on 40mg x 3 per day and now I take 10mg x 3 a day. When I'm feeling better I sometimes forget and can go a day or two without them. Similarly, as I'm only on 30mg a day if I'm having a wobble I take another one or two.

I am not a Doctor and obviously you should listen to your Dr over some random on the internet! :)

StooriMidori · 15/02/2021 20:25

This will make you all laugh...

Out for a walk earlier and my boob started to itch. I had that lurching feeling like oh fuck, that's a symptom of you know what. Tried to ignore it but eventually unzipped the layers and stuck my hand in for a scratch/check. Turned out my bra was full of crumbs 🙈😂

MakingASilkPurse · 15/02/2021 20:33

StooriMidori I've had that sometimes and found a dog hair - goodness knows how they get there! It comes to something when you're pleased you've got dog hair in your bra 🥴

tmh88 · 16/02/2021 07:49

Morning everyone! Wishing you all a good day Flowers how is everyone?

chorusline79 · 16/02/2021 08:07

Morning @tmh88! Hope you're ok and everyone else is. I'm tired this morning, slept really badly and woke up with tingling pain in both my arms, DH was trying to convince me at 3am that I'd been sleeping on my arm! I do suffer with neck and back pain so hopefully was just that but it's always scary at that time in the morning!
Hope everyone has a good day. Going to get the kids out in the fresh air today hopefully if it ever stops raining!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 16/02/2021 08:11

Morning! Hardly slept here - worrying about baby jabs and spotting. Anyway - jabs done and she ok so far. Also nurse said that I hadn't had a postnatal check so needed to book appointment with doctor so will mention spotting (which is still ongoing) again - it's on Monday. Feeling slightly better about that as I've not had to make the decision to make the appointment and it's a face to face one rather than telephone. Although I feel slightly better I'm now in tears - it's been so stressful!!!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 16/02/2021 08:12

@chorusline79 my take on your tingling is either sleeping on your arms or anxiety. Xx

Skyliner001 · 16/02/2021 08:14

@StooriMidori 😂😂😂

Itchy boobs are such a thing, obviously they freak us out! I get it is on my boobs, I guess because they are like any other bit of the body. But for some reason it feels so frightening!

😊 thanks for sharing, that's hilarious!!

Skyliner001 · 16/02/2021 08:16

@chorusline79 I also get tingles in my hands, and my arm sometimes, as well as my feet and legs. Almost like a very low-level restless leg feeling, I get it on and off, and it really freaks me out. But I have to put it down to anxiety, or, like you say a funny night sleep
