Hi ladies, back again for thread number 3!

Skyliner001 · 13/02/2021 20:12

Welcome @ShopTillYouDropp 😊

chorusline79 · 13/02/2021 20:57

@ShopTillYouDropp welcome, and you're definitely not alone and sorry you're struggling at the moment. I'm sure many of us can relate to what you're saying, and I know I found my anxiety in general has increased ten fold since having children. I haven't used Propranolol but was thinking of asking my GP about it as you can just use it as and when you need it can't you? Someone was discussing it on this thread recently I think... so hopefully someone will be able to tell you about their experience.

chorusline79 · 13/02/2021 21:02

A positive story about a boob pimple! I have had one for more than 6 months and Doc has confirmed it is a lesion/ benign cyst. I obsessed about it, picked it, tried to squeeze it and google told me it was a type of skin cancer of course. But apparently it's just a cyst and it's not going anywhere it seems (unless I want to have it removed privately)

ShopTillYouDropp · 13/02/2021 21:29

Thank you so much everyone.

Yes, I definitely noticed my health anxiety became more since having children. I've been reading through this thread and can't believe how alike I am to you all Grin so glad I have found you..I thought I was the only one

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 13/02/2021 21:33

Hello @ShopTillYouDropp I love this thread 😗

Skyliner001 · 13/02/2021 21:51

You're not @ShopTillYouDropp ! You are not alone! 💚😊

tmh88 · 14/02/2021 08:25

Morning everyone! How are you all? Does anyone else hate it when people say “trust your gut” “trust your instincts etc” I really don’t think mine must ever be correct or I would be diagnosed 50 times over now! Blush

tmh88 · 14/02/2021 08:26

Welcome everyone new! Flowers

Skyliner001 · 14/02/2021 08:45

@tmh88 you are so right, for a health anxiety sufferer, that's like a red flag to a bull, as we think our gut is telling us everything is something bad. So yes I hate it too!

chorusline79 · 14/02/2021 09:01

Completely agree @tmh88 and @Skyliner001 that's the whole point - I don't trust my gut, or my judgment when it comes to health, hence the need for reassurance on every little issue!

How's everyone doing this morning?

Skyliner001 · 14/02/2021 10:02

Not too bad here! Had a slight lapse but was in control of it. Did had to ask my partner for reassurance unit it only lasted about 30 mins. Looking forward to Sunday now. Weirdly breaking the habits has been harder at weekends as I had a couple of terrible weekends when the HA first reared it's head, so I started to fear weekends!

MrsWhites · 14/02/2021 10:22

Hi everyone, I’ve been really rubbish posting on her this week, I’ve been really struggling and a bit down. I’ve mentioned on here before that I’ve got a prolapsed bowel and bladder which generally I can manage through good bowel and bladder habits but I got into my head that they were getting worse so started a programme of pelvic floor exercises 3 times a day. About a week later I started getting a pulling stabbing pain on one side inside and as you can imagine I’ve convinced myself that all kinds is wrong with me. My husband is convinced it’s some sort of muscle spasm caused by the pelvic floor exercises. I think I’m almost subconsciously doing them now or holding it tight without realising. Anyway, just wanted to get it off my chest and explain that’s why I haven’t been around much which is crap of me!

Welcome to the group @ShopTillYouDropp, you definitely aren’t alone!

@tmh88 I can’t trust my gut either because mine is always telling me that i’m dying of some deadly condition!

@Skyliner001 I fear weekends too because I usually feel worse, which doesn’t help to be honest because what could possibly have been a good weekend is always started with a negative mindset!

Hope you ladies all have a good day today! I’m going to do the food shop which brings me anxiety itself these days so I’m just going to attempt it supermarket sweep style!

Morning! Not great here - very anxious and spent the night having nightmares 😲

SquirrelFan · 14/02/2021 14:17

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Sorry about your night, @onlyreadingneverposting8. I've had a bad night, too - woke up with coronavirus and a heart attack. Well, that's how I felt. I managed to get through a Joe Wicks but I've had chest and jaw pain all day! Supposed to be having a nice meal tonight but just feel like hiding in bed - I can really relate to all the posters who don't want to go back multiple times to the consultant. I've been investigated (NHS heart clinic, private cardiologist, emergency room, etc) a bunch of times and I know the drs think it's all in my head! But the one time I decide not to go, will I regret it?

SquirrelFan · 14/02/2021 14:18

Oh, and I saw The Dig Confused

StooriMidori · 14/02/2021 16:26

Welcome @ShopTillYouDropp I take propranolol and it really helps the physical symptoms. @chorusline79 yes, you can take it as and when but it does help more to take it as prescribed (mine is 3x a day) when you are having a rough time. Thanks for the positive boob blemish story, I'm sure mine is getting smaller now.

I also fear weekends as I don't like not having a routine and have longer for thinking! I also hate having to wait till Monday to contact my GP. It's the waiting an not knowing I struggle with.

@onlyreadingneverposting8 I've been having nightmares too. It's awful isn't it. I wake up and literally the first thing I'm thinking about is my impending death :/

StooriMidori · 14/02/2021 16:27

Ooh also, I have my first CBT tomorrow morning. I'm worried it won't work. Have any of you tried it?

chorusline79 · 14/02/2021 16:37

Hi @StooriMidori good luck with the CBT, really hope it helps you. Are you doing it on video? I started CBT before Christmas and I am in a better place now but I'm not sure if that's down to the CBT. Mine has been mostly online and to be honest I have struggled to find the time to commit and make myself do it with everything else going on. There are definitely tools I have found helpful though. Let us know how you get on!

ShopTillYouDropp · 14/02/2021 21:26

Sorry to hear some of you have had a bad day. I've had a rubbish day again, found myself thinking should I write letters to children and husband for when I'm not here Sadwhy am I like this, I hate it Sad

@StooriMidori if you don't mind me asking, how often do you take the propranolol, dr said to take it when I feel a panic attack/anxiety attack coming on but not sure if that would be too late then, I'm constantly anxious and the attacks come out of no where

tmh88 · 15/02/2021 07:33

Morning, wishing everyone a good day! Flowers I felt fine yesterday so hoping for same again! How are you all?

Skyliner001 · 15/02/2021 07:47

Morning ladies, I managed to make it through the weekend without any major lapses. Did have the odd one there!

Just a quick one I wanted to ask you, does anyone suffer from scratching anxiety. What I mean is that you scratch your breasts say, and then you feel that you may have felt a lump, or lumpy tissue, and you have to check. I seem to be going through that at the moment! Probably the same when I scratch my neck!!

tmh88 · 15/02/2021 08:12

Yes @Skyliner001 when I scratch my neck im convinced I can feel a lump etc prod around loads then!! Yet to find anything new! Blush

Nogodsnomasters · 15/02/2021 08:13

Morning everyone, hope you're all ok. Definitely agree with the cycle of thought as I do the same "don't be silly, you're absolutely fine, but what if it's something and you didn't do anything about it? It won't be! Give it a week and see, but what if that's too late?" Oh God, I actually piss myself off with it. It's like fighting with yourself or your rational brain is fighting with your anxiety.

Does anyone else here meditate? I've used it sporadically in the past but decided this new year that it has to be a regular habit to see any real benefit of it so I downloaded an app and I have meditated for 10-20 mins nearly every day since new year's Day, to be honest I cannot tell if it's having any effect. I feel relaxed when I'm doing it but I don't see it making any changes to my day-to-day anxiety.

tmh88 · 15/02/2021 08:16

@Nogodsnomasters yes I am starting to meditate! I do it at my therapy and love it xx

Skyliner001 · 15/02/2021 08:43

Just a quick one for those who have lymph-node anxiety as well, I had a horrible dream last night that my lymph nodes came back in my neck, like how they were when I did have Lymphoma, it was a pretty scary dream, but obviously I woke up and all is well.

I just wanted to post here because it did remind me of quite what the lymph nodes were like when I had lymphoma, I do join you all in having some lymphoma anxiety.

I have what I think is a shotty note above my collarbone, and I also have an enlarged lymph node on the right side of my neck. The lymph notes I had From lymphoma werecompletely different, they were absolutely huge and rapidly growing. I'm talking like a half golf ball on the side of my neck. I just wanted to share because this reminder has actually been good for me, and I know lymph-nodes stress us all out!

I'm on breasts at the moment anyway, and I'm off my lymph-node's!
