Hi ladies, back again for thread number 3!

OP posts:
tmh88 · 11/02/2021 17:20

*alone not some Hmm

MrsWhites · 11/02/2021 17:23

@onlyreadingneverposting8 definitely sounds hormonal!

@tmh88 I am absolutely desperate for a holiday, we had a big America trip booked last year that had to be cancelled. Not really wanting to risk booking anything abroad though this year, can’t see it happening and don’t want to book something and then have it rest on a Covid test 72 hours before - I mean what do you do if someone randomly tests positive. I think we’ll just try to head down to Cornwall or something this year!

OP posts:
Goolies · 11/02/2021 17:52

I’m ok during a holiday although the build up to it I can be a bit of a mess!

Skyliner001 · 11/02/2021 18:09

@onlyreadingneverposting8 I've also been stressed out about my spotting, which lasted for exactly 48 hours to the minute. And happened at the exact time that I was meant to ovulate according to my app. Weirdly though I don't think I did ovulate, and I think my ovulation was delayed. Which in my sensible head suggest it was a hormonal thing. But you know where that goes…

I'm actually very proud at the moment as I've done really well, I'm deliberately not looking in mirrors unless it's part of my proper breast exam, and I'm trying not to spin.

Did a little bit of googling about spotting earlier, but I didn't feel it took over me if that makes sense…

@tmh88 please feedback about your doctor's appointment! I'm sure lots of people would be interested what with lymph-node anxiety being a big thing!

tmh88 · 11/02/2021 18:24

@MrsWhites sounds amazing! I know what you mean with Covid testing etc! Not worth the risk this year!

@Skyliner001 it’s @chorusline79 seeing the doc not me, I am interested to know what doc says too though even though I’ve had 3 separate opinions on mine Blush
You should be proud well done! It’s nice when you can let it not takeover! Flowers

MrsWhites · 11/02/2021 18:42

@Goolies I get very anxious coming up to holidays too.

@Skyliner001 glad to hear you are doing well. I’m trying to but have had a bit of a mini spiral this afternoon. I’ve had some sharp little pains today which feel cervical in location, nothing agonising, almost feel like a tiny needle for a second but I googled and could feel myself getting worked up.

TheSilentStars · 11/02/2021 18:54

I have even sat in the loo at bloody Gatwick going "I'm not going. I'm going back to the Premier Inn and then home"
And I love holidays and browsing for them!
Last year I had Berlin, Copenhagen and Vienna round trip booked (and now have vouchers for all the stages) All cancelled of course, then when things opened up in July-ish I booked flights to Madrid (one of my happy places) but before we could go everywhere shut down again! I've said to DD, this year, as soon as things open up, we book and we go. Day after if necessary.

I've moved into my right boob this last couple of days. Sigh.

tmh88 · 11/02/2021 18:59

@MrsWhites I have spiralled this evening too but made myself feel better reading some threads about lymph nodes on reddit there seems to be so many people that can feel them! I’m even more determined now to not touch them!

@TheSilentStars I think the same! Book abs go next day if needs be but I don’t think I have the confidence for that at the same time, I like to prep Blush

tmh88 · 11/02/2021 19:01

I have a weird sharp pain in my largest lymph node which has caused the worry by the way!

tmh88 · 11/02/2021 19:13

Ok I’ve gone full blown spiral and scared myself silly! Someone please calm me down! I should really just stick to this one thread for reading! I torture myself reading others and I have gone into a major Google rabbit hole!!Sad

chorusline79 · 11/02/2021 19:59

@tmh88 hi, just try and take some deep breaths and whatever you have read on google, remember google is always worst case scenarios and not all the other non sinister explanations. sending Thanks or maybe Wine

What triggered the googling?

Goolies · 11/02/2021 20:09

Hey @tmh88 and @MrsWhites just keep in mind the more you focus on it the more sensations you will feel. I know it’s easier said than done though I had a moment stressing about my bloody rib pain again

tmh88 · 11/02/2021 20:10

@chorusline79 I started as I got a sharp pain in my lymph node, wish I didn’t and knew I would be making a mistake before I did it too Sad x

chorusline79 · 11/02/2021 20:16

Yes - @Goolies is spot on about that - if the mind is so powerful and can make you feel the pain in that area. Hope you can relax and get some rest. Totally get it though as I'm on high anxiety today x

MrsWhites · 11/02/2021 20:26

@tmh88 step away from reddit, that’s how it starts, you read threads were people say they’ve got the same and it’s all fine, until you read the one where it was something horrible and all logic goes out of the window.

Does anyone else get stabby, needling twinges down below ever?

OP posts:
chorusline79 · 11/02/2021 20:39

@MrsWhites yes I do sometimes, though I haven't been able to see a pattern with it but it freaks me right out when I do get them! They never last long though. Have you got the pains this eve?

MrsWhites · 11/02/2021 20:51

@chorusline79 yes, i’ve had them on and off for a couple of days now. I’ve had them before but just latched onto them in my mind now. Thanks for reassuring that you’ve had them too x

OP posts:
chorusline79 · 11/02/2021 20:57

@MrsWhites hopefully they will pass soon x

we are all very aware of all these little aches and pains - I swear I never used to pay attention to them. Yesterday I was convinced I had DVT as my leg was really sore and then I remembered I had done 14 minutes of HITT the day before and as I'm so unfit now I had agonising pain in one calf weirdly!

MrsWhites · 11/02/2021 21:00

@chorusline79 yesterday I had sensitive tooth pain all day and I kept panicking about it because I hate the dentist. I realized this afternoon that I hadn’t felt a single twinge from the tooth today now that i’m focusing on these stabbing pains. It’s crazy how the mind works.

OP posts:
onlyreadingneverposting8 · 11/02/2021 22:05

@tmh88 oh dear! I do the same - with the googling and the forums - Infact I did it here earlier today....in the women's health section!! Why do I do it to myself! @MrsWhites is totally correct! Hope you've managed to calm yourself a little.

Yes @MrsWhites I get stabby pains down below...mainly in my bottom - I've read (on mn) that it's piles that causes them.

Nogodsnomasters · 12/02/2021 07:11

I also salute magpies and knock on wood (it's the only safe way - kidding!).

For those talking about the intrusive thoughts and premonitions yes I have those too, so good to hear so many people also have these and it's definitely anxiety not me having some kind of physic ability! When my son was a toddler for some reason in my mind I couldn't picture him past the age of 4 and used to always think it's because he'll pass away before his 5th birthday, for about 2yrs this plagued me and when we actually made it to his 5th birthday I promised myself I would never believe these thoughts again and I haven't since (only been 18 months) but that proved to me that there is absolutely no basis to these.

I hope everyone has a decent weekend! Half term this week and I bet most are looking forward to it but I'm dreading it, my little boy had ASD and the little one we're fostering has suspected ASD so the lack of routine that school work creates is gonna be a nightmare, hope I can make it through the 9 days!

TheChaser · 12/02/2021 07:14

Good morning everyone

I had a bad night last night. I was just wondering if anyone has tried Kalms, I really need something and don't fancy talking about it to the GP

TheChaser · 12/02/2021 07:17

@tmh88

Ok I’ve gone full blown spiral and scared myself silly! Someone please calm me down! I should really just stick to this one thread for reading! I torture myself reading others and I have gone into a major Google rabbit hole!!Sad

I've been the same tonight. Googling one thing and it leads on to another and I have everything. It's awful. Couldn't sleep all night. Hope today is better Thanks

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 12/02/2021 07:23

@Nogodsnomasters I have children with ASD but we have the opposite - mine can't attend school - they're at a permanent internet school atm. I love the school holidays usually as it's a break from managing their school anxiety and general anxiety - dreading this one though as there'll be even less to do, which will feed my health anxiety!

@TheChaser hoping for a better day for you than night. I've not tried kalms.

StooriMidori · 12/02/2021 08:32

@TheSilentStars I've been worried about my right boob for about 6 weeks. My GP said she didn't think I needed referred me to the breast clinic but did anyway for peace of mind. I still haven't had the appointment through which is worrying me. I initially thought I had skin changes and of course Dr Google told me I had a rare and incurable breast cancer. The GP felt the skin was the same on both sides and it was just changes due to weight loss after having my DC. Both boobs feel exactly the same and no lumps I can feel that aren't the same on the other side. I've definitely noticed hormonal changes and always my right boob that hurts alot but left only gets slightly tender one or two days a month. I have a near constant pain in the side of the boob, near my underarm. I only get a couple of days respite towards the end of my period. They're coming every 2 weeks just now so hardly any respite at all because as soon as I stop I'm back into PMS mode. This morning I had a throbbing sharp pain in the side of and I'm freaking out. I can't pinpoint a specific spot though.
I've stopped wearing underwire bras as I'm scared to irritate it as that makes my anxiety worse, and I'm slathering myself with voltarol.
