Hi ladies, back again for thread number 3!

OP posts:
StooriMidori · 12/02/2021 08:40

@TheChaser I've tried Kalms but didn't find any benefit, sorry. I'm generally very skeptical of alternative medicine so that's probably why. I tried them because my old GP suggested them. They worked well for a friend who is into alternative stuff, she also found Rescue Remedy helped her (I didn't).

My current GP prescribed me propranolol to manage the physical symptoms and it works great. I've had no issues with it. It's a beta blocker so doesn't help the thoughts side of things but is great for getting rid of the palpies and that horrible fear or dread feeling.

Hi thanks for all your messages this morning! I’m sticking to this thread only from now on! Sorry I didn’t respond last night I must of worn myself out because I was asleep by 9pm! I’ll message everyone back individually soon Flowers have a good day everyone xx

Goolies · 12/02/2021 09:16

Morning ladies I’m struggling already today, my ribs are causing my breasts to hurt, they are hurting on the outer sides, both of them. Worried now it’s not rubs but a greasy thing. I’ve tried to feel under the breast tissue and it is tender when I press the rib but I just keep thinking it’s something else

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 12/02/2021 09:17

So it looks like it's a light period - didn't expect them back quite this soon but baby is sleeping for 8/9 hours at night so it's totally feasible - that hasn't stopped my worry though! I'm trying to put my logical head on but since I had abnormal bleeding after a miscarriage and got older I've been really paranoid about the regularity of my cycle.

Goolies · 12/02/2021 09:49

Sorry just ready my post so many typos! Was suppose to say I’m worried it’s nota ribs thing but a breast thing!

tmh88 · 12/02/2021 09:54

@Goolies my ribs are always very sensitive to touch and my breasts are also, it does give me a fright sometimes in regards to my ribs but I’m not focussed really on them at the minute Blush I was last week though! Put my ribs do always feel tender when I poke them!

tmh88 · 12/02/2021 09:58

@onlyreadingneverposting8 my periods have only just become regular this past year and I had DS over 3 years ago now!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I understand why it’s making you so worried! In the end I was put on the pill to make me regular and I have been since Flowers

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 12/02/2021 10:13

Thanks @tmh88 I think what it comes down to is being in control or rather I'm not in control if my hormones! And when google always says - this might be cancer it just sends me into a tailspin!

tmh88 · 12/02/2021 10:17

@onlyreadingneverposting8 I’m a really hormonal person! It’s draining because it makes my anxiety worse I start about 2 weeks before my period teary, irritable, anxious the works! I can also now tell when I’m ovulating because I spend that day an absolute mess too! I have thought about going on some sort of hormone tablet but because I know I’ll feel normal again once my period has been and gone I never bother!

Goolies · 12/02/2021 10:57

@tmh88 thank you for your reply,! Do you know if the breast pain is linked to the rib pain?

tmh88 · 12/02/2021 11:00

I put a lot of my breast pain down to my chest muscles! They aren’t the strongest so I’ve noticed it’s usually worse say the day after I carried DS when he’s refused to walk or something like that, moved furniture etc! @chorusline79

StooriMidori · 12/02/2021 18:41

Having a quiet cry in the bath as just noticed a red blemish about the size of a 5p near my nipple on the same side of my breast pain. It's not sore or itchy and has no head (though looks like it could develop one) and has spidery veins. I was having such a good day, haven't had much pain today at all, then I went in the bath and had a look and am back to square one. Now the GP is closed till Monday I'll be worrying all weekend. Still no word on my breast clinic appt and of course my brain is running the 'you didn't chase it up and now you're going to die' scenarios. I'm trying to talk myself down with stats on how unlikely it is to be cancer but I made the mistake of googling.....

Has anyone had this before?

Galwaygirl · 12/02/2021 18:54

When I am stressed or anxious I get pain in my breast, shoulder blade and under my arm and always go into overdrive, have had mammograms and all is ok, need to de stress! Its amazing how.our bodies react.
I feel my shoulders up nearly around my ears when stressed and have to make a conscious effort to relax

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 12/02/2021 18:54

@StooriMidori it's going to be fine! The blemish will just be skin colour. I do the stats stuff too. I go on the cancer research uk site and work out the percentage of women of my age group who get a certain cancer (the one I'm worried about) and look all the risk factors. Trouble is the way google puts things and the way the media portrays things makes it feel like it's definitely going to be cancer when actually the vast, vast, vast majority of the time it's not!

StooriMidori · 12/02/2021 18:57

Thanks both, I'm trying to tell myself the skin is so thin it could be anything, meanwhile trying to work out how much a private consultation would cost and whether I could afford it (I can't!). I just wish I hadn't seen it 😥

tmh88 · 12/02/2021 19:35

@StooriMidori sorry you’re feeling so down! I completely get it! I currently have 3 large red blemishes on my left breast! Try not to worry, I don’t get anxiety around breasts, but would it try help to think say if this red blemish was on your thigh would you be panicking like this? Flowers

StooriMidori · 12/02/2021 19:48

Thanks @tmh88 No, I wouldn't! That's a very good point, thank you. It's weird how symptoms in one area cause so much anxiety yet i can practically ignore the rest of my body. Thanks, that has helped xx

Goolies · 12/02/2021 19:53

Hey @StooriMidori sorry you’re having a rough evening. I had the exact same worry last Friday, I noticed a red mark on my left breast. I’ve also been having breast pain.

Of course I stressed and worried and spiralled. I tried to remind myself that the particular type of you know what that causes rashes is very rare. Also looked up stats.

The mark was gone the next day. Think I caused it when I was having a poke. Honestly it will be harmless. Could be a spot that’s going to surface. Try and have a relaxing evening, watch a movie, keep your mind busy.

tmh88 · 12/02/2021 20:11

@StooriMidori I’m the same!! Any aches or pains in my neck I’m convinced it’s my lymphnodes causing it! Anywhere else on my body I’m not bothered! xx

Skyliner001 · 12/02/2021 20:41

Oh bless you @StooriMidori We have all been there so many times, and completely feel your pain. So sorry to hear that you are feeling so down, I honestly don't think it will be anything to worry about, but I understand that it's so hard for us, if we have one thing for even an hour we spiral. Thinking of you anyway, and knowing that you will be absolutely fine. But just sending you loads of love😊😊

Skyliner001 · 12/02/2021 20:41

Also, on Monday night I found a small red patch on the lower part of my left breast, I had found it a bit itchy for a couple of days, and I think it might have been about, or just a little spot, or maybe a reaction to something on my skin. It's gone now, but I was really stressed about it.

StooriMidori · 12/02/2021 21:56

Thank you all so much. You have made me feel better. I've only looked a few times and trying to focus on a comedy. Going to bed to try and get a good nights sleep. I'm so grateful to have found this thread xx

Skyliner001 · 12/02/2021 22:09

@StooriMidori If you can get a good nights sleep, you will think more clearly in the morning. Sleep well X

Nogodsnomasters · 13/02/2021 07:31
@Nogodsnomasters I have children with ASD but we have the opposite - mine can't attend school - they're at a permanent internet school atm. I love the school holidays usually as it's a break from managing their school anxiety and general anxiety - dreading this one though as there'll be even less to do, which will feed my health anxiety!

@TheChaser hoping for a better day for you than night. I've not tried kalms.
Oh no, so being off is good for them but not for you. Our foster child attends school due to being vunerable but my son doesn't as he's mainstream and not statemented so he's home schooling so I've a mixture of both at the minute but without the routine that I create for him with school work it's a free for all and as you say there's nothing to do and it's so cold we can barely go out so it's a hotbed of stress and anxiety for me trying to manage it. I hope you can think of some activities to keep your mind occupied with the kids, we're going to make valentine's Day cards today and then during the week we're going to build and paint a castle from cereal boxes as my son is learning about castles and fairy tales in school at the minute.

Nogodsnomasters · 13/02/2021 07:37

@TheChaser

Good morning everyone

I had a bad night last night. I was just wondering if anyone has tried Kalms, I really need something and don't fancy talking about it to the GP

I tried kalms years ago, didn't find they did anything to be honest. However rescue remedy really does help me when I'm in a tail spin, I keep a spray bottle of it in my handbag.
