Hi all,

@tmh88 I'm with you today, feeling quite calm but feeling strange that I'm not anxious as I feel like I should be!

I said I would report back and I have tried the CBD oil this weekend and it works well for me ( though it tastes revolting!) It really helped me to feel calmer on wknd.

tmh88 · 08/02/2021 15:57

@chorusline79 yes I’m feeling the same! Almost anxious over why am I not anxious Blush can you link the one you bought! I’ve wanted to try one but haven’t known which to get x

tmh88 · 08/02/2021 15:57

@Nogodsnomasters thank you! It does feel good Grin just odd to not feel anxious ha!!

chorusline79 · 08/02/2021 16:29

Hi @tmh88 I went with this one from Holland and Barrett - started out with the weakest one! As I said, it tastes disgusting though, so be warned! Im sure there are tastier ones out there...? I do like it so far Smile

MrsWhites · 08/02/2021 18:44

@Nogodsnomasters Canestan do make the tablet but they charge about £12 for it, my chemist had the same tablet but with the generic drug name so without the canestan brand, exactly the same but only a few pounds, worked within a day too.

@chorusline79 glad to hear you are doing well with the CBD oil, I couldn’t stomach the taste, almost made me sick so well done for sticking with it.

I also worry about not worrying. I find it very unsettling!

Hi everyone. My CBT therapist suggested I ask my GP for propranolol to try to reduce my physical symptoms of anxiety. He was pretty reluctant and wanted to put me on sertraline instead but did prescribe them in the end. Apparently you can take them as and when you need them so no problems with withdrawal effects, which is what I am worried about with other medication. I am still scared of taking medication though. At least if I get side effects with these I can just stop taking them with no problems. Has anyone else used propranolol?

Skyliner001 · 08/02/2021 19:48

I've done pretty well today, I had one check while I was in the hotel, I am away with work, but it didn't lead to too much spiralling if that makes sense.

Does anybody else write down what is in their head, so if they start to worry about something again they can think to themselves I've written that down, it really helps me.

But writing it down is another tool for my reassurance, so I'm trying to break that habit too!

Hope you've all had a good day and are staying cosy. Freezing isn't it!

TheSilentStars · 08/02/2021 19:56

@KasparKat, bizarrely, or maybe not, work stress is great! (Obviously not the kids accused of cheating but..) it's kind of you just don't have time to THINK during the day...but then I did notice that despite being physically and mentally shattered on Friday I was still awake at 3am, and then my not sleeping panic takes over. I know if for one night I only sleep for 4 hours it's not going to kill me but I can't be logical about sleep.
I've done pretty well with aches till reading that someone's only symptom of breast cancer was a slight itch. Which of course I have. Which of course is probably central heating, dry skin etc. But again, logic gets shown the door.
I might try the elastic band thing.

donerwillbehere · 08/02/2021 20:29

Hi Ladoes posted on here last week your support was tremendous hand held at the moment . Spoke with GP this
Morning still feeling rough sweaty 🥵, trembly and not right . I have stopped the anti anxiety as i just couldn't function .
GP has taken
Bloods this morning , nurse said you are having the full works . That is good( not for people like us) I just keep thinking the worst . I just want to be sick .
So sorry ladies to post really need some calming down x

donerwillbehere · 08/02/2021 20:32

#kasparkat
I was streamline a few years back they really helped me .

tmh88 · 08/02/2021 21:20

@chorusline79 I’ll have a look now! Thank you! Xx

@MrsWhites my therapist said it’s because your brain gets so use to function on high alert anxiety, it isn’t really sure what to do when your not feeling anxious!

@donerwillbehere hope your results come back quick! I agree when they do the full works in your bloods, you panic and the wait for results feels horrendous! I’m sure you will be ok (easy for me to say, I know) anxiety does massively take it’s toll on your health though! I realised last week dp was saying his elbow really aches and guess who had an aching elbow this week (me!!) so subconsciously I take more in than I think!

tmh88 · 08/02/2021 21:25

@Skyliner001 well done today!! Unfortunately I’ve poked this evening!! It’s when I have nothing to do my mind seems to think ok.. time to convince yourself you have the dreaded c word!! Also felt at my jaw today and one side has like a ridge of bone that’s really painful and not at the other side (bone or pain!) no clue what that is!

@TheSilentStars I’m with you on sleep! I panic when I don’t sleep although I’m not sure why! Sorry you have other stresses this week! Flowers

donerwillbehere · 08/02/2021 21:32

Tmh88

Thank you thank you . Fingers crossed

donerwillbehere · 08/02/2021 21:42

I can relate to your brain being constantly on red alert 🚨.
Exhausting really is . Someone posted earlier on regarding looking forward to things . Those day seem so long ago .
I am a twin, it is the big 50 whilst talking to my brother (twin) we were talking about weight and celebration photos I thought that is if I am still here . How terrible 😢.

donerwillbehere · 08/02/2021 21:43

Sorry posted to early

Do anyone have those intrusive thoughts?

If so how do you deal ?

tmh88 · 08/02/2021 21:53

@donerwillbehere I completely understand how you are feeling, it’s exhausting! Truly is. I’m not really sure if I get intrusive thoughts or not, i suppose I do get intrusive thoughts around my health. I only panic about health at the minute and I always say I miss my old anxiety because it’s not nearly as draining, as health anxiety is to me!

donerwillbehere · 08/02/2021 22:01

My intrusive thoughts are around my health .

I have friends who have the philosophy if they find anything then it will be caught and dealt .
My brother also has an underlying health condition that is managed by drugs and he has checks every 6
Months .
He doesn't worry or any other member of my family .

Is anyone else's family the same .

Goolies · 08/02/2021 22:22

@MrsWhites thank you for the reassurance. Honestly don’t know why I even looked at my boobs I was in the middle of writing an email and felt a strong urge to go and do some checking, first checked 2 bruises I have on my leg and checked the rest of my legs to see if there were any more, then checked my breasts?! Why couldn’t I just finish typing the email like most people would?!

Hope you’re all ok out there this eve, sorry I’ve missed so many posts need to go back and read x

tmh88 · 09/02/2021 07:25

@Goolies I’m just the same but with my neck! I stop doing something to feel at my neck! The worst thing is my neck is always out, so I don’t have the deterrent of even having to take my top off etc! Blush

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 09/02/2021 09:32

High anxiety day here 😟 Had to postpone baby vaccination due to the weather - now have to go through the build up again 😢 Also I have some spotting again - I've already spoken to the GP and he said it was very very common but it freaks me out - it really does!!!!

Hope everyone else can have a less freaky day than me! Xxx

SquirrelFan · 09/02/2021 11:16

Hi everyone, I am feeling rubbish today--chest pains not alleviated by ibuprofen. Last time I felt like this I went to the ER, where they found, you guessed it, absolutely nothing wrong. It wasn't the first time, either. I'm guessing it's costochondritis (sp?) but accompanied by anxiety, which causes my heart rate to bop around.

I'm so sick of this and I'm sure DH is sick of having to reassure me. Yesterday at this time I felt amazing, top of the world...my fantasy is to be incredibly wealthy and have a doctor live in (with all the testing facilities) so I could be reassured every time I feel terrible. Am I crazy?

@onlyreadingneverposting8 @donerwillbehere good luck!

tmh88 · 09/02/2021 11:55

@SquirrelFan sounds like a good fantasy to me! Sorry you’re feeling rubbish Flowers

@onlyreadingneverposting8 sorry to hear that, there is nothing worse than getting yourself mentally prepared for something and it not going ahead! Flowers

I am having a non anxious day again today... most likely will start again tonight! Blush

KasparKat · 09/02/2021 14:10

I've often wished DH was a doctor!

Goolies · 09/02/2021 14:56

@SquirrelFan what sort of chest pain is it? I was diagnosed with costochondritis just 2 weeks ago.

SteamTrainAlong · 09/02/2021 16:25

Hi @Goolies would costochondritis show on an X-ray? How is it diagnosed? Thanks
