Hi ladies, back again for thread number 3!

OP posts:
Goolies · 09/02/2021 16:39

Hey @SteamTrainAlong, my gp said that’s what he thought it was but I wanted a chest x Ray to be sure as I was in a bone cancer spiral at the time! He pressed down on the area where I could feel the pain

Chest x Ray was clear so that’s what he diagnosed. It wouldn’t show on it as it’s normal ally due to inflammation in the cartilage between the ribs.

SteamTrainAlong · 09/02/2021 16:43

Thanks for that @Goolies
Now I'm starting to wonder if I have this, I've had chest pain and slightly short of breath. Chest X-ray was clear. I'm a bit of a mess at the min with my health anxiety. Would cancer show on a x-ray? I'm so worried but as I had covid a while ago they are putting everything down to long covid

Goolies · 09/02/2021 16:54

My symptoms are the same as yours. My gp said bone cancer would show as would any problems with the lungs. Do you have a good pulse oximeter, I use that as reassurance.

SteamTrainAlong · 09/02/2021 17:01

@Goolies that's so reassuring. GP done my pulse and oxygen a couple of days ago and all was okay. Is there any treatment or will it just go on its own (sorry for all the questions) it really does sound like what I have

Goolies · 09/02/2021 17:26

No worries @SteamTrainAlong. Apparently there’s not much you can do, some people take ibuprofen, guess it depends how bad the pain is. Try and rest it, although for me that’s tough with a 4 year old!

SteamTrainAlong · 09/02/2021 17:39

@donerwillbehere

Hi Ladoes posted on here last week your support was tremendous hand held at the moment . Spoke with GP this Morning still feeling rough sweaty 🥵, trembly and not right . I have stopped the anti anxiety as i just couldn't function . GP has taken Bloods this morning , nurse said you are having the full works . That is good( not for people like us) I just keep thinking the worst . I just want to be sick . So sorry ladies to post really need some calming down x

Hope your play. I had this last week had full bloods, chest X-ray all normal and I still feel like that. I had a full panic attack a couple of days ago. I'm going to speak to gp tomorrow about possibly starting medication for my anxiety.

SteamTrainAlong · 09/02/2021 17:40

@Goolies I'll try some ibuprofen thanks, and yes very hard to rest with an active 5 and 8 year old Grin

Skyliner001 · 09/02/2021 19:52

@onlyreadingneverposting8 I had my first spotting this month, around one week after I finish my period, I thought it was ovulation, as it lasted about 48 hours and was pink in colour. But I feel like I'm actually ovulating now? When I'm due my period… I think my hormones might be all over the place, potentially with stress. I'm going to see if it settles down 😳🥺😊

TheSilentStars · 09/02/2021 20:22

I had costochondritis a few years ago, there are some great short videos on YT explaining the symptoms and giving some exercises to do.
Bob and Brad- 2 really camp but lovely doctors, and Dr Jo who is a physio. Her exercises really helped.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 09/02/2021 20:38

@Skyliner001 we can be spotters anon! 😬 How old are you? I feel like my body is VERY sensitive to hormonal changes and getting more so as I get older. I'm just 45 so I'm that perimenopausal time I would think...despite having just had a baby! Anybody wakes here absolutely totally terrified of the menopause? I am completely terrified of it! The idea of my body doing things I don't understand - often have other reasons (particularly according to google) - night sweats, abnormal bleeding, headaches - god only knows what else!! I'm really worried about it. One particular form of anxiety my HA takes is the anxiety of actually going tot the doctor and the anticipatory anxiety of waiting to see one/talk to one/tests etc.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 09/02/2021 20:39

*anybody else (not anybody wakes)

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 09/02/2021 20:53
@dillydallydollydaydream7 hi sorry probably should of said at the time but I had a vaginal birth with shoulder dystocia (less than 1% chance of happening Blush) I do think that birth permanently did damage to my stomach/womb etc as I know tmi.. but I had to have hands up to get DS out from behind my pelvis! I didn’t have a spinal or anything as of the curve in my spine! I try remember when I get pains that one, my stomach muscles are split don’t know how far but none the less never gone fully back together and two, I have scoliosis so it’s most likely that not some bizarre cancer of the rib Grin
Oh you poor thing it sounds like you really went through it! Well it's similar in the sense that all your insides were squashed up for 9 months and then people were rummaging around to help get baby out, so it does just sound like damage to your muscles that you can feel, it doesn't sound like anything to worry about though SmileThanks

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 09/02/2021 20:56

@donerwillbehere hope you get your results back quickly! Try not to worry

@SteamTrainAlong well done for considering asking about anxiety meds, that's a huge step!

Had a telephone call with my GP today and I've been given a repeat 3 month prescription of my sertraline which I'm pleased about. I did ask her (again) about my sore nipple and she said as it's not all the time and is better than it was and because I can't feel any lumps she thinks it's just hormones from having the baby, but if I'm still worried in a week or two she will see me about it

SteamTrainAlong · 09/02/2021 21:27

Thanks @dillydallydollydaydream7

I'm so glad I found this thread, I have finally met my people Smile

Skyliner001 · 09/02/2021 21:36

@onlyreadingneverposting8 I am 39! But I noticed my hormones felt like they went a bit crazy from about 38 1/2! I am pretty sure that my breasts have got lumpier, and my periods went a bit weird.

Skyliner001 · 09/02/2021 22:44

Could not resist having a brief dig around in my left boob, and comparing it to the right. But I didn't spin, so on the whole I've had a good few days 💚

StooriMidori · 09/02/2021 22:44

Hi everyone, I've had a good few days, no pain, no poking, no internet. Buuuut, fell off the wagon today 😫 I have very frequent pain in my right boob and it's got worse recently. Both feel identical lumps and bumps wise, and I had a recent exam by my GP who found nothing. She's referred me to breast clinic for peace of mind and I keep panicking they'll find something. My periods are coming every two weeks so it's likely hormonal and I'm just not getting a break. I had a negative smear recently so have to ring back up about my periods. I'm 8 months postpartum so not sure when things should settle? Wondering if it's pp thyroid issues as my hair is still falling out too. Anyway, I had a poke and prod, and a google and of course immediately regret it. I have my first CBT on Monday. Has anyone had success with it?

@LadyCounterblast Thank you for the post on Google! I watched The Social Dilemma so knew this but had never put it in context of my HA before!

StooriMidori · 09/02/2021 23:17

Sorry for double post, just catching up!

@KasparKat I take Propranolol and find it great for getting rid of the physical symptoms. I'm taking it 3x a day just now but in 'good' times I use it as and when. It really helps get rid of that ball of dread feeling in your chest.

@donerwillbehere I get intrusive thoughts too. I was laughing playing around with my DC and did something funny and thought 'this will be a nice memory for them when I'm dead'. I can laugh typing it now but was shocked at the time. I told DH straight away and we made fun of it which took the fear out of it, if that makes sense. I also spoke to a friend who's a MH Nurse and he said everyone has intrusive thoughts but if you focus on them as being more than a random thought that's what makes them scary. The example he gave me was that people watching a murder docu might think or say to their friend 'if you were to murder someone how would you do it?' but they don't worry that this means they'll turn into a serial killer!

@onlyreadingneverposting8 I feel the exact same re being sensitive to hormones. I've wondered if I have PMDD. I'll join you and @Skyliner001 in the weird cycle camp! 😁

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 09/02/2021 23:21

@StooriMidori good to have the company!! I've wondered whether I have the ppmd too - I can become REALLY down before a period and weirdly I had the same the last 2 days and then this spotting today (I'm breastfeeding - GP said it's normal). When I say down I mean DOWN - everything is black - today whilst I'm anxious with the spotting I don't feel depressed like i did the past couple of days.

amblonyxx · 10/02/2021 03:05

Well after finishing a course of antibiotics for my kidney infection, the symptoms still have not gone and I almost feel as if my kidney is swollen or something. I had an ultrasound a few weeks ago that showed nothing and I'm thinking it's probably just that the infection hasn't cleared but I'm so so sick of worrying about this and thinking about it! I just want an answer as to why it's sticking around!

Next GP visit isn't until the 23rd so its a long wait, I'm just grateful that he put me back on my anxiety meds so I feel like I can deal with this.

Bonnielassie21 · 10/02/2021 04:58

Hi all, just joined mumsnet. Not too sure as to how things work.

Bonnielassie21 · 10/02/2021 05:11

Hi, does anyone have Borderline Personality Disorder?
If yes, have you found any medications beneficial?
I am just new to this site and not really too sure what I’m doing.
I’m a golden oldie also, maybe too old to be on here ( age 63 years young )
TIA

StooriMidori · 10/02/2021 08:38

@onlyreadingneverposting8 Me too! I wake up with the feeling of dread with no obvious reason for it. My anxiety is really hard to manage on those days too and I generally end up in tears. I plan to talk to my GP about it.

@Bonnielassie21 Welcome to Mumsnet. I don't have BPD or know much about it, sorry. There might be a specific thread on BPD on here that would help x

MrsWhites · 10/02/2021 09:53

Morning everyone, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do, didn’t manage to get on here at all yesterday, home schooling is ruling my life!

@donerwillbehere I get intrusive thoughts like that too, I always think each Christmas will be my last, if something nice happens I find myself hoping that the kids will remember it when I’m gone. It’s one of the worst parts of anxiety for me!

I totally get what someone was saying yesterday about one tiny symptom starting a whole spiral. I was watching tv last night when I suddenly noticed a muscle type pain in my armpit, it’s still there this morning so now I’m convinced it’s a sign of breast cancer. My husband has tried to talk me down saying I’ve probably strained it but I don’t remember hurting it at all.

@Skyliner001 my periods have changed since I reached about 35, first they got closer together now they have become a bit irregular. My mum said the same thing happened to her at 35 too and she went through the menopause in her early 40’s. glad to hear you are having a good couple of days!!

OP posts:
Goolies · 10/02/2021 09:55

@donerwillbehere I do that too!! Even when I take pics I think this will be nice for my DS to look at when I’m not around?! It’s so morbid!! My husband on the other hands talks about when we are in our 90s we will ....... how can he be that confident I wish I could be like that!
