Seeing all these Feeling Low Posts makes me feel like screaming THAT'S LIFE

I'm sorry

I don't really read these threads

I do know that depression is a real illness and requires medical help and I do not wish to denigrate those who are suffering in this way

I cannot help thinking that a lot of these posts stem from expecting more from life than there really is. Some people just seem to want to feel good all the time, and the things that are getting you down are JUST LIFE

I think a lot of you do need to pull your socks up and stop analysing things. just get on with your lives and make the best of it

God forbid you had something proper to worry about - like war, disease, famine

Don't seem to see many of the mothers from the SN board posting here nor those who I do see as having real problems to worry about.

If I wasgoing to leave because I didnt like some people opinions I'd have left yonks ago.

blossomhill · 25/10/2004 22:08

hercules - we are anonymous any way aren't we?

Enid · 25/10/2004 22:08

pph, if that was meant for me it was a very nasty thing to do, I find it totally bizarre that you would post my initials - I am now presuming thats what that means - especially as I had posted an encouraging message on titanias thread - which, by the way, if she reads this, I meant 100%.

Thats Sherborne Girls for you I guess.

marthamoo · 25/10/2004 22:09

Ditto blossomhill - I said that on the other thread. I knew it had been too friendly and quiet on MN - it never lasts!

gothicmama · 25/10/2004 22:09

no but people are in the main anon when they sign up to post incognito on threads likely to offend people makes it look like trolls are about or that someone is out to cause mischief. I can understand anon for relationhip or "embarrasing problems" but if it is to express your point of view then why hide

hercules · 25/10/2004 22:09

You know what i mean

2wildbabies · 25/10/2004 22:10

FF I don't like what has been put in this thread. I don't think I should have to think about whether my problems are too trivial for someone to read. I always thought MN was an escape from life for a while...it seems to be that we are having to watch what is being said on a board called feeling low, I mean WTF???

Look at what has happened with this thread....I will feel better if the original postr would tell me why they had to write this tread. I may understand where they are coming from then. Right now, I think they are just nasty.

mumwithnoname · 25/10/2004 22:10

got a confession - no its not me!! but a few glasses of wine later I must admitt that reading this thread has kept me busy all night (even my teens have moaned about how long I've been on the computer!!) and I feel quite good now (was feeling pretty crap!) Don't know if its the wine or the dicussion!!

fairyfly · 25/10/2004 22:11

so why leave, where does that get you, i don't like loads of peoples opinions, i don't start storming off i just tell them where to stick it

tamum · 25/10/2004 22:13

I've been reading this, but haven't felt I had much to contribute, but I have to say this- I don't believe for one second that RP is Enid, not a second. I think that was a spectacularly unpleasant thing to do if I am reading pph's posts correctly. One of the nastiest things I've ever seen on here.

misdee · 25/10/2004 22:13

yeah but fairyfly, your well 'ard you are. actually you do scare me a bit.

runs off and hides.

gothicmama · 25/10/2004 22:13

ff don't like your opinion so stick it and you don't like mine so good night one and all I have to go now hope you can all go to bed with a smile on your faces

joanneg · 25/10/2004 22:14

2wildbabies - remember that this is just the opinion of regularposter, I dont think that should make you feel that you dont want to communicate with anybody else on the website. Ignore it, sleep on it and please come back tomorrow - I for one never find anything anybody posts trivia - so if ever you want a moan off (big or small) by all means bend my ear!

Enid · 25/10/2004 22:15

thanks tamum.

I am reeling, I really am gutted.

OK, anonymous posts do make people suspicious but I posted my thoughts quite happily without using a pseudonym - just freaky to suddenly realise what she meant

essbee · 25/10/2004 22:16

2wildbabies · 25/10/2004 22:16

It's the subect, I thik. I have suffered severe depression for two years now.....and I have come on the feeling low borad and complained about silly things like fed up I'm not sleeping, etc.

But I feel terrible now I have been getting judged by an anoymous poster who has decided to upset several people and cannot have the decency to come on and have a discussion about their views.

That's what bothered me.....it's not a difference of opinion. It's that this thread is very judgemental from a person hiding from us all.

gothicmama · 25/10/2004 22:16

enid I don't think it was you - it was cruel of Ppp to do this much worse than anything else said here tonight -

moomina · 25/10/2004 22:17

Enid, do you and pph know each other IRL, then?

bonniej · 25/10/2004 22:17

are you sure she definately meant you Enid. Couldn't she have been referring to someone else?

marthamoo · 25/10/2004 22:17

FairyFly's not scary - she's a cuddly bunny with a twinkly smile

I hope that pph has been misinterpreted

Enid · 25/10/2004 22:17

now this DOES make me want to leave mumsnet

hercules · 25/10/2004 22:18

I dont think it was you either Enid.

joanneg · 25/10/2004 22:18

I agree enid - dont think that anyone thinks that rp is you and dont worry about her putting on your initals - we have deleted them from our minds

Enid · 25/10/2004 22:19

well maybe I am wrong - it wasn't that clear. But I did post an 'encouraging message' on titanias thread (which I meant!) and pph knows my SIL (who is also a reg mumsnetter) and therefore knows my initials although we haven't met IRL.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 25/10/2004 22:19

2wildbabies, there's nothing silly about not being able to sleep properly, so there's no way what you are complaining about is silly.

Stay with Mumsnet, don't leave.
