Hi everyone-
There's been some lovely support on a recent thread and I thought expanding it out could get more of us talking?

I have a Drs appointment tomorrow to discuss my second opinion. I'm pretty stressed as I got a call a week ago asking me to come in but I couldn't get an appt sooner- so I made myself a week worrying about what was happening. Services make me paranoid 🙈 I'm struggling not to use negative strategies atm.

Hope there's someone out there x

Awww Ozzie134 he has a very cheeky grin!

Sunflowersok - she looks like she's got caught doing something naughty!!

QueenOfOversharing
I'm sorry you're struggling, is it your sons behaviour which is getting you down? Someone once advised me if I binge, not to miss normal meals but instead carry on as normal. As a way to 'retrain' the brain, not sure how that feels to you..?

Welcome @Ijustneed sorry you're also fighting with depression it's so cruel. Are you new to your area? I just wonder as you mention you don't have any close friends nearby.

Have you got your update @UpOnDown ?

I'm going to work for a couple of hours today- I only go once a week. I'm feeling very tearful and I have been comfort eating
A bit. I just want to stay inside and hide from the world 🙈

Discharge planning meeting tomorrow I think. Sorry to hear that, PurpleFrames Sad

Ijustneed · 05/03/2020 15:14

Thanks you Purpleframes. Sorry you're not feeling great.
Yes I'm fairly new to the area, moved to be closer to my elderly mum, but don't know anyone else here, and struggle to go out to meet people.

PurpleFrames · 05/03/2020 18:00

All the medication the crisis team think I have has been confiscated for my own safety.

Ijustneed
It must be really difficult to give up your life somewhere and have to move in those sort of circumstances :( does your mum get enough care for you to go to a support group or a coffee morning?

UpOnDown
That sounds like hopefully good news?

UpOnDown · 05/03/2020 18:41

Oh dear PurpleFrames, I hope that helps keep you safe. That does sound challenging, Ijustneed Sad. Discharge is indeed good.

QueenOfOversharing · 06/03/2020 02:35

Sorry not replied - yes, son has online gaming addiction, got removed from uni course & lost p/t job. Refused to see our GP. Does nothing but sit in his room on computer. I'm almost 11 yrs sober, so I do understand addiction, but I'm also his mum who wants to scream at him. I get to the point I want to tell him to leave, but only so that he will snap out if it. But we have no family, so I can't. It's affecting my MH.

@PurpleFrames sorry you're going through that. I didn't tell my GP that I had counted out the meds last weekend, as I am adamant I'm not giving them up. I know that's not sensible!! The bingeing thing - I was told the same. It's hard work - when things are bad I'm obsessed by "treating" myself.

Hope you are all doing ok. 🙏🏼

Sunflowersok · 06/03/2020 10:01

@QueenOfOversharing I hope your son finds the support he needs Flowers

I’m not in a great place this week. I got home yesterday and the first thing I did was lie in bed and not move i felt like I had a brick wall around me. Absolutely no motivation at all and no reason for it. It’s been a while since I’ve been in this place.

I hope everyone manages to enjoy the weekend at least

UpOnDown · 06/03/2020 15:56

Big hugs queen Sad

Sorry you’re in a bad place sunflowers Sad

I hope everyone has a good weekend too.

PurpleFrames · 06/03/2020 20:30

Hope everyone has had a good day x

How are you feeling now @Sunflowersok ?

Sorry to hear about your son @QueenOfOversharing if you look on bbc sounds (where the playlists/podcasts are) there's a really good episode on gambling addiction you might find helpful. Search for "hooked" and click all episodes to see the full list.

Are you home @UpOnDown ? I hope you're feeling safe and supported around it all.

UpOnDown · 07/03/2020 08:52

I go home next week. Is anyone up to anything this weekend?

QueenOfOversharing · 07/03/2020 13:53

Thank you all! @PurpleFrames I'll look for that now. Thank you.

PurpleFrames · 07/03/2020 20:55

@UpOnDown
I did have plans for tomorrow but they've been cancelled by the other person last min so I'm a bit :( are you able to do much?

How did you find the podcast @QueenOfOversharing I hope it was useful x

Hello everyone else x

OP posts:
UpOnDown · 08/03/2020 08:38

I’m hoping to go home for some time today. Sorry your plans were cancelled Sad

PurpleFrames · 08/03/2020 16:22

Hi @UpOnDown - I hope you got some leave! I have been texting everyone in my phone book getting more and more panicked as no one wants to spend time with me for a couple of hrs while I'm struggling. But I must be fair it's not their responsibility and they've got their own problems.

OP posts:
UpOnDown · 08/03/2020 17:33

That must be really difficult PurpleFrames Sad. I hope you found something to help while you’re struggling.

PurpleFrames · 09/03/2020 22:58

I ended upon hospital via ambulance today. Not my most glam moment- but the nurses were much shittyer than normal. Ever taken an overdose and got told a security guard will remove you unless you stop crying? Well as lesast one of us has Sad

OP posts:
QueenOfOversharing · 10/03/2020 09:37

Oh no @PurpleFrames how are you doing this morning?

UpOnDown · 10/03/2020 11:41

I'm sorry that happened PurpleFrames Sad Sad. How are you today?

PurpleFrames · 10/03/2020 15:28

Thank you both for getting in touch- I was hoping to be the superwoman of the thread and cure all sadness! Haha I didn't quite manage it.

I'm safe and home now. Under much better and increased return home care in the community (f off mental health liason 🙈)

How is everyone else?
I'm having a day just doing things that I want if feels strange but I'm getting relaxed more and more as the day goes on x

OP posts:
UpOnDown · 10/03/2020 18:58

I'm glad you're safe and home Smile
I'm feeling anxious about going home tomorrow.

PurpleFrames · 11/03/2020 09:36

@UpOnDown
Have you been able to visit your house beforehand? I think you'll find it a bit quiet at first but hopefully you'll settle soon if you have family or friends visitors?

OP posts:
UpOnDown · 11/03/2020 15:09

I visited on Sunday. I'm home now, feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all. How are all of you?

PurpleFrames · 11/03/2020 15:13

I'm so glad I saw your message just as you posted so I can reply ASAP.
The first day/night home I found so overwhelming- trying to get a routine and process everything in your head.
Do you have crisis team support now ?

I tried to keep my
Routine as normal as possible- crisis team will come and see is me at some point. I think I might cancel work tho- does that seem fair?

OP posts:
UpOnDown · 11/03/2020 19:23

I don't, I see my care coordinator on Friday.

Keeping your routine sounds good, only you can say if to cancel work or not, sounds like you're having a tough time though

PurpleFrames · 12/03/2020 17:42

Do you have any ideas of what you'd like to say to her?

Everyone else has gone quiet I wonder if they are corona virus shopping haha 😆
