How's your dd row? Have the rest of you escaped it? Fingers crossed.

How's the washing machine? Hope it was an easy repair.

P2 continuing to improve-we will get there Smile

Washing machine would need new motor, new brushes & not really worth it.

Went to local shop (where repair man came from) & they have matched on line price of the one I want and - deep joy- are delivering new one tomorrow (and taking old one away).

rowrowrowtheboat · 13/10/2014 19:11

Good news about the new washing machine being available so quickly.

So far, DD1 is the only one poorly. It was pretty much a 24 hour sickness and she is much brighter today. Off school again tomorrow so we can do something nice together - I'm thinking of putting her artwork in a scrapbook so we could do that.

magimedi · 13/10/2014 19:43

Artwork in scrapbook sounds lovely - would love to see that.

New machine being installed between 9am / 1pm.

So hope I am first on the list - can't believe how much washing two people have accumulated in just one week!

rowrowrowtheboat · 13/10/2014 19:50

I did a scrapbook once already, and then found another pile, so I want to redo t - the first one was too stuffed full and is falling apart. I love doing stuff like that.

I should be working now - homework on a rainy evening isn't so bad really, so I'm going to get back to making notes!

Pumble · 13/10/2014 22:18

Fingers crossed you all escape row. Scrapbook of artwork is a wonderful idea and one I may well steal for the pumblettes! I hope you have a good day together tomo.

How does so much washing accumulate?! It's ridiculous. I think there are washing pixie who add washing in. Hope you're early on the list magi. Smile

Hope the homework doesn't take too long....

Washing machine was up & running by 11am. Third load just been hung out.

It has a 30 minute express program - which is fine for many things.

Happy magi here!

Just saw in the news that weather is due to get really good by the w/e with 22 - 24C temps1 Bring it on!

magimedi · 14/10/2014 23:05

House looks like a laundry - washing everywhere - it sodding rained, didn't it?

(But it's all clean).

Pumble · 14/10/2014 23:28

Just got back from cinema with a friend. First time i had been since p1 was born. And I told her about the PND....

Curse the rain and washing-bane of my life!

OP posts:
rowrowrowtheboat · 15/10/2014 20:16

Pumble, I'm really pleased. Well done. I hope your friend was supportive. If she knew nothing, it may take a few days for it to sink in and for her to think about it.

How do you feel today?

Indeed, the rain and washing - I've switched to the Tumble drier this week which I dislike. Come back sunshine!

So far we have escaped the sickness, whoop whoop, my obsessive cleaning of the bathroom on the day of illness may have paid off....

magimedi · 15/10/2014 20:21

Oh, Pumble - well done. What a great leap forward.

I bet she was sympathetic.

That's the monkey off your back having told her.

Can't do a pom-pom wave so have some Wine, you brave woman.

(((xxx)))

PS House still looks like Chinese laundry - best jeans on radiator as need them for retail therapy trip to Brighton tomorrow!

PPS - Whoopee for escaping sickness - cleaning is obv the truth of 'virtue has its own reward'!!!1

rowrowrowtheboat · 15/10/2014 20:23

Indeed Magi, I'll raise my glass to Pumble too Wine

magimedi · 15/10/2014 20:30

Any excuse, row!! Grin

rowrowrowtheboat · 15/10/2014 20:35

It isn't a cyber wine, it is really here, white, tasty and very relaxing!

(First night after 3 nights of study, it's very much being savoured and enjoyed)! Wink

Pumble · 16/10/2014 10:06

Yay for obsessive cleaning!

It was ok telling her but didn't go into much detail due to timing of telling her.....think it will be talked about again though.... Not heard from her since but seeing her tomo.

Had first rehearsal with bee choir last night-great fun and had a quick drink in the pub afterwards Smile

Sun beginning to shine here- quick get the washing on the line!!!!

So I have a reunion to go to today-can't say what as would out me but there are two people there who I can't face. One in particular will be incredibly hard. Not slept all night. Why I'm putting myself through it by going - who knows.

Hope you have jollier weekends!

On the positive we have booked a day voyage a France pour nous et les pumblettes Smile

OP posts:
magimedi · 21/10/2014 22:34

So late to this - how did the reunion go? Bet you wiped the floor with them!

Am late as have had a sore throat/virus going into a cold. And have been feeling a bit sorry for myself. I seem to have had one minor illness after the other for the last 3 months. UTI, penecillin allergy, gut bug, occular migraine, virus/cold.

None of which are life threatening but I am so berluddy fed up of not feeling well.

And have lost all my swimming fitness - have only managed 3 swims in the last 4 weeks & struggled to do 20 lengths. Was doing 40+ with ease in early August.

But, I think I have nearly seen the back of this cold & will swim again on Saturday & am determined to be back to 40+ (40 lengths + 1K in my pool) by early December.

Next week a minor diet (ie no Wine & no treats ) begins as does some speed walking & lots of swimming.

magimedi · 21/10/2014 22:35

40 lengths = 1K is what I meant to post.

Pumble · 22/10/2014 19:12

Oh magi-what a rough time you've been having. Always so much worse when it's one thing after another. Glad you are beginning to be on the mend now. Your swimming fitness will be back before you know it but I know how bloody frustrating it is....

Reunion was interesting..... One of those situations it's far easier to explain how it went verbally rather than in words but in many ways was better than planned. I am very grateful to a friend who sorted me out with a very good outfit that I would never have chosen myself but I think did the job!

P2 has decided she doesn't want nappies....we are on day two and it's very much up and down! She has very good bladder control that helps but very bloody minded and stubborn when it comes to sitting on a loo/potty - can't think where she gets it from.....

Here's to a healthy time ahead magi Smile

OP posts:
Pumble · 28/10/2014 08:24

How are you feeling magi?

OP posts:
magimedi · 28/10/2014 17:03

Can't believe P2 is that old already.

I am feeling fine, now, thank you. Have had two swims & got back up to 30 lengths yesterday which really pleased me. Plan to go tomorrow & do 40.

Haven't been around much as have had to do dashes to Portsmouth for DH's aged auntie who is dying. She is 100 years & 6 months old & has managed to live 'home alone' (with carers coming in) all the way. She has taken to her bed, stopped eating & is fading fast. The GP( he's been her GP for 20+ years) has been amazing & is determined to let her slip away at home & not cart her off to hospital. We are all hoping, for her, that it won't be too long now.

Hope you are all enjoying half term & the lovely weather we've had the last couple of days.

magimedi · 03/11/2014 22:38

Hallo! Hallo!

Listens to the echo!

What news?

Where are you all?

All OK here - still doing the Portsmouth trip - the reslience of the aged is amazing, but I wish it wasn't.

Have fitted in some swimming in between this & am back up to full strength. Did my 1K today with ease - felt like I was a fish & in my element. Most pleasing.

magimedi · 07/11/2014 22:32

Waves into the ether...................

magimedi · 09/11/2014 23:04

Yooo - hoo.....................

Where are you??????

rowrowrowtheboat · 10/11/2014 22:06

Echo echo echoooooo

I'm over here!

Sorry, I turned my browsing into private after someone showed me all the cookies I was collecting, but it meant I got logged out of everything and could I remember my password? So cunning was the password it outfoxed me! I know I can reset it anytime, but I did think it might do me good to have a little time off from browsing dear mumsnet and do lots of homework instead. After a quiet start to half term holiday doing nothing, I got back to homework for my course on the Thursday and have been spending most evenings doing that rather than being on here since!

Yay for swimming! Bask in the feel good glow, and less of the aged please.
