ooh lots of new people and returners. I have been a bit baffled by MN’s new interface so gave up for a bit. But… I am back at the gym and running. Which is really exciting. Feeling very happy but finding I have the carb ginger. Decided to allow some oats and some ryvita on the grounds that neither are so exciting that I will want to eat lots. Might order some boil in bag buckwheat (like babcia used to make) as that is also good and soothing. Then will aim to reduce once I am back on an even keel. But I am so happy to feel more like my old self, even if scales haven’t noticed I am moving around more.
i hope that you are all having a good week so far.

MistySkiesAreGone · 27/04/2022 19:53

@Simpatico nothing as advanced as that but I had a craving once and broke up pieces of yoghurt coated rice cakes over yoghurt. Kind of hit the spot!

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 28/04/2022 05:59

Fantastic that you've started running again chillinwithvilllians
I'm desperate to get back into running/gym but I'm not going to start yet until July as I want to lose the weight first. I know as soon as I up my activity too much I'll eat more and maintain. So I'm currently doing fast power walks daily for about 45 mins and will introduce a yoga routine soon.
I'm on the dreaded week 3 and so my weight is staying the same. I'm actually pleased with that though as I normally put on lots at my TOTM. Feeling bloated too.
This way of eating is feeling so easy at the moment. I'm hoping will stay that way! Currently managing to stick to around 800-900 Cal's

MistySkiesAreGone · 28/04/2022 06:04

Forgot I had salad yesterday in my bag so closed the day on 740 cals. Slept amazing. Bad breath so definitely in ketosis. Must take multivitamins today as forgot yesterday and muscles feel a bit twitchy and I am sneezy. Other than that feel great. Reading about autophagy on Fast 800 last night. Interesting.

Scales (with their shiny new batteries!) are moving in the right direction, hurrah! I'll be going for a short jog this morning, and will have a protein shake afterwards. Dinner tonight is the speedy pizzas, though I'm using a whole Food Doctor grains and seed pitta (have adjusted the calories). I'm out and about midday so have made myself a portable lunch of a mini cheese, 5 cherry toms and 10 almonds, with a flask of Bovril.

My biggest achievement is to have had 2 days alcohol free. I've discovered that when the witching twitching hour arrives it helps if I imagine the wine witch as Nadine Dorries, and I'll be darned if she's going to win that battle!

Simpatico · 28/04/2022 10:37

Lols to Nadine @Diegofrompennyburn think that would put me off for life.

Has been easier to keep to 800 this week as DH has a tummy bug so he is on chicken soup and crackers leaving me free to prep food for self only. Slight whoosh this morning on the scales so feeling motivated to keep it up for the weekend (how often do I think that on Thursday). Today I am having cottage cheese Waldorf for lunch and Boursin courgetti for dinner. Onwards and downwards!

MistySkiesAreGone · 28/04/2022 10:58

I'm still in the honeymoon phase and loving the diet. I posted on another thread about my hair going more brittle and dry, so 5.2 may be better for me long-term, but I will get some Perfectil. But for now I am so happy, it's like someone coming along and giving me a helping hand to reach my goals. It's so motivating seeing the scales budge.

I'm working today and not planned so having a Purition meal for lunch.

Diegofrompennyburn · 29/04/2022 06:55

Proud of myself for resisting free biscuits at the cinema (I did have the free tea though), AND posh Lindor chocs at dance class!

I'll be trying roast veg and mozarella pasta later. I have the red lentil pasta to try, not sure how it will taste.

Simpatico · 29/04/2022 10:10

Well done are resisting biscuits and Lindor @Diegofrompennyburn not sure I could have. Whoosh disappeared this morning but I am undeterred. Have 4 weeks to first foreign holiday in years. Going with omelette for lunch and Cauliflower and ham hock soup for dinner. Good luck everyone.

MistySkiesAreGone · 29/04/2022 10:29

Morning all, do motivating to read others progress. Went for a swim this AM. Could have done without it but had promised a friend. I did really enjoy it. Managed 30 mins breast/front crawl. Staying with friend who is also a version of Fast 800.

Breakfast was 4 tbsp porridge oats and a strawberry and full fat yoghurt and teaspoon of seeds. Having a purition drink for lunch. My friend did offer avocado and eggs but that's fine. Some sort of 400 calorie courgette bake for dinner.

Tomorrow is a birthday brunch and Sunday I'll see where the scales are at. 25 days to holiday.

MistySkiesAreGone · 29/04/2022 10:30

Oh also had a 75 cal energy bar after swimming which is the only reason I have the energy to write this 😂

MistySkiesAreGone · 29/04/2022 18:47

Courgette and feta bake was amazing. It was made for me and I think there was a lot of olive oil, so I reckon 950 cals today.

Simpatico · 30/04/2022 11:01

Trying the new pavlova recipe today. If successful will be lathering with double cream and raspberries for 6g carbs. Am hungry just thinking about it. But three weeks of soggy failed attempts are dampening my excitement. Otherwise Fast800 mushroom soup for lunch and cauliflower and chorizo stir fry for dinner.

Good luck with the weekend everyone.

3kidsaremorethanenough · 01/05/2022 13:02

Hi everyone

Can I join the club. Need somewhere I can be answerable I suppose so here might keep me on the wagon. I've done the fast800 about 2 years ago and had great success and before that 5:2 it just seems I loose my way too easily. But this time health problems have brought me back. Have Gluten sensitivity/GORD/and hiatal hernia. Had an awful year last year with family bereavement and illness and my diet and weight skyrocketed. So I was told eating smaller meals and loosing the excess weight should help with the digestive problems and hopefully help me sleep better/feel better. I have all the recipe books and do eat a good few of the dishes that I like from them anyway (but in bigger portions) so starting from scratch today again. Will weight myself in the morning.

So today had:
Breakfast: Apple with tsp of Almond butter
Lunch: egg & ham with houmous
Dinner: small portion of slow cooked beef with veg

Going to read through the rest of the thread for a inspiration and ideas 🤗

MistySkiesAreGone · 01/05/2022 16:17

Birthday was about 950 cals, including cereal, cooked brunch and prawns and salad.

Today
Oats, nuts, blueberries, milk
Pork steak, mash and rocket
Yoghurt

Oh forgot I had a big win yesterday - spent a good few hours going through my wardrobe and having a huge cull. I've got about 3 or 4 pairs of trousers that I couldn't fit into before, that now fit! I am a pear, so pleased to be shifting weight from my hips.

I also made lots of decisions - as I am no longer thinking maybe I will wear that if I lose weight. Basically if I like it, and it fits or almost fits, then I kept it. If I didn't love it, I ditched it. No longer holding onto things thinking maybe if I lost weight I would like it.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 02/05/2022 09:48

Looks like you're all doing well ☺️
I was until Friday 😞 Had lots of carbs, including chocolate and white bread. I've put on 4lbs!
Back on it today. Going to stick to 800 cal religiously and drink gallons of water. I WILL get it off by the end of the week!

3kidsaremorethanenough · 02/05/2022 11:29

7lbs in 9 days that's impressive mistyskies well I have weighed myself and it's not as bad as I had thought it would be(still not good though)

Starting weight today 13st 8lbs
Goal is initially 11st 7 and then 10st. I find i just can't get under 10 stone anymore feels too hard to maintain.

So today looks like:

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs with tsp of houmous (302 cals)
Lunch: Bacon Broccoli Tomato & mushroom (144 cals)
Dinner: Quick Veggie Chilli (246 cals)
So leaves me a few cals for a couple of cups of tea with splash of milk.

cosytoes those 4lbs will melt off once your back on plan again Thos WOE really does melt away the pounds Wink

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 02/05/2022 13:19

3kidsaremorethanenough
First day back on it is going well so far.
Breakfast: nothing: huge bag of prawns salad, roasted veg and sour cream (260 Cal's)
I'm aiming for 10stone too!

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 02/05/2022 13:19

*lunch: prawns!

3kidsaremorethanenough · 02/05/2022 21:42

Kitchen closed on 740 cals - had a dip around 3pm where I was just flat out craving something biscuity but (a friend had brought me gluten free choc digests a while back and they were calling my name) I got past itHalo just back from a gentle walk (had covid a few weeks ago and energy is still lacking) so teeth brushed and off to bed in a while to read. I hope your day went well cosytoes back on it tomorrow 🤗 think I'll skip breakfast tomorrow and have lunch & dinner so I can add in a few more ingredients.

MistySkiesAreGone · 03/05/2022 07:00
