I felt absolutely stuffed after tea but now gone to bed and feel starving!!

xraydelta · 05/04/2022 08:37

Welcome @EverydayImPuzzling @Helpmplease and @Fjea 👋🏻

From my experience before when I did this and now:

Sleep will get easier ✔️

Hunger pangs will lessen ✔️

My advice would be to stick to a meal plan of 3 meals a day and measure everything for those meals. Don't snack. Cut out all sugar and fruit. Don't drink any alcohol at all. Drink lots of water. And just be kind and gentle to yourself while your body gets used to it. Lots of walking in the fresh air, long baths and reading worked for me. The first few days is not the time to add in a super intense HIIT class if you've not done one for years ever.

It gets a lot easier soon.

EverydayImPuzzling · 05/04/2022 09:02

First day done and I nearly caved yesterday evening after a very stressful toddler bedtime, but I stayed strong! Finished the day on 821 calories and had an early night, overslept this morning but I’ve never got out of bed so quickly and easily, I usually feel so groggy and slow for the first couple of hours of the day.

ChillinwiththeVillains · 05/04/2022 12:26

Yes @xraydelta I think you are right. Planning it all and being kind to yourself are both very sensible. I find re reading the books help me feel motivated too.
I reckon everyone needs more sleep too. I am planning on a nice long walk this afternoon whilst youngest DC at an activity. Hoping it stays dry. I have had egg and spring greens and yogurt, linseeds and whey so far today. Working and trying to be efficient so less time eating is a bonus.

fasttime · 05/04/2022 16:54

Day 2 here. I've stuck to it today and yesterday but the feeling sick and headache has started and I've been starving all day. Chicken for dinner. I kept my fast window going until 1130 today.

ChillinwiththeVillains · 05/04/2022 20:16

I planned and had chicken curry with cauliflower rice and brocolli side for supper. All the vegetables. Early bath and bed as I am at the gym tomorrow- second time since covid, quite exciting.

EverydayImPuzzling · 05/04/2022 20:23

Well I failed today Sad

I went to sainsburys on my way into work and intended to get a couple of boiled eggs and some water, but I hadn’t had anything to drink at this point and despite feeling full of energy and very positive I just completely lost the plot and bought chocolate biscuits instead.

Had a healthy lunch of chicken with salad, but feeling a bit disappointed with myself this evening.

Will try again tomorrow, should be easier as I am at home with DD and I’ve got a fridge packed with on plan food.

Helpmplease · 06/04/2022 10:56

Day 3 here and 3lb down. I have another 13lb to lose and will be a healthy BMI. Im enjoying the food and trying to do 16:8 too. I've only got the brand new book so am just following the meal plans in there, does that sound OK?

@EverydayImPuzzling don't worry just get straight back on it!

xraydelta · 06/04/2022 11:26

@EverydayImPuzzling don't worry 😘 It's all a new thing and you'll be missing the hit of carbs and sugar. Celery just doesn't have the same appeal yet!...

@Helpmplease that's fab! Great to have a first goal that puts you into the healthy ratios as well. That should be achievable fairly quickly 🙌🏻

@ChillinwiththeVillains how was it? You are putting me to shame. I REALLY need to start adding in exercise other than just walking as I am now well over the initial few weeks I gave myself as leeway. I am starting a yoga class on Friday, but that's not going to raise my heart rate 🙄 How are you feeling?

Helpmplease · 06/04/2022 11:40

Thank you xraydelta.
One slight issue for me is that in 2 weeks time will be in Spain on an all inclusive holiday for 6 days. Don't want to deprive myself on holiday but don't want to ruin this way of eating either.
Way I'm looking at it is to make sensible choices whilst there but still enjoy it and also losing weight now gives me some leeway for holiday.
Will that be OK? Just to get back on it when I get back?

ChillinwiththeVillains · 06/04/2022 12:32

@xraydelta best laid plans- woke up in the night with post viral complications and have spent morning on sofa and then at doctors (who were brilliant and had me in quickly). So no gym again for a bit but hoping to manage a dog walk tomorrow. They’ve ruled out anything too awful which was very reassuring. So I am with you on just dog walks at the moment. But at least we can keep the dogs happy.
Prawns and celeriac for lunch and then a lie down again.
@EverydayImPuzzling we’ve all been there and you will definitely bounce back, at least you have also identified what prompted the problem. I feel like alot of this process is unravelling all those triggers so we can work out strategies.
@Helpmplease I think that sounds smart- make the most of the run up to the holiday, enjoy the holiday and then come back even more motivated.

EverydayImPuzzling · 06/04/2022 12:52

Thank you all so much. I’m back on it today, just tucking into a little ploughman’s plate from the BSD book for 250 cals. I’ve also been for a very brisk walk this morning with DD in the pushchair, my Apple Watch thought I was on an elliptical trainer Grin

Sorry to hear you’re struggling with your health @ChillinwiththeVillains make sure you take it easy.

xraydelta · 06/04/2022 12:57

Oh no @ChillinwiththeVillains that's crap 😔 Sorry you missed out.

That's exactly what I'd do @Helpmplease. I'd carry on now, then relax a bit and try and make (a few) healthy choices on holiday and enjoy it, then come back with renewed purpose. Even Micheal Mosley has said that while it's a way of life rather than a short term diet, he relaxes and enjoys meals on holiday, etc. I personally think as long as someone isn't swinging wildly between fast and feast, it's healthy.

I am jealous though, as I'd love to be going on a lovely holiday 😁

The scales are standing still for me at the moment, but I'll do my semi regular 48 hour fast from tonight to Friday night. I am also now a month into no alcohol with no temptation to drink, which I would never have previously thought I would be able to do. I am keeping going for a second month.

ChillinwiththeVillains · 06/04/2022 13:24

@EverydayImPuzzling that sounds like an impressive buggy speed. Bet your little one slept well.
@xraydelta I am so impressed by your epic fasts. I hope that they are really helping. I think you are right about total alcohol avoidance (when not on holiday!). Wine definitely dissolves my will power (but not my fat stores sadly).

ChillinwiththeVillains · 06/04/2022 13:25

I am re reading Rachel’s Holiday on the sofa with the dog so life definitely isn’t all bad. I just keep thinking I am over covid and pushing myself too hard. And this is with three jabs too.

ChillinwiththeVillains · 06/04/2022 18:13

730kcal, 23g carbs and 75g protein so feeling pleased. But pretty immobile today. Now having to share sofa with child and dog. Need a bigger sofa. Or a smaller arse.

Helpmplease · 06/04/2022 20:53

Oh I'm starving hungry, had over 900 calories as well I think. Bugger.

Helpmplease · 06/04/2022 21:33

Will I get less hungry? really struggling!

xraydelta · 06/04/2022 22:58

@Helpmplease be kind to yourself. If it takes a few days longer to get into this, that's just a few days.

What are you eating exactly?

And yes, the hungry feelings will go if you get to the stage of low carbs but enough protein.

I have had a load of sofa days @ChillinwiththeVillains recently with my post covid one 🙈 You just have to give it time x

Helpmplease · 07/04/2022 07:51

Yesterday I ate bircher museli 300 calories
Goats cheese omelette 300 calories
Both from the new book.
For dinner I cooked leeks, courgettes and stirred through some cooked chicken and 2 tablespoons of cream cheese with some lemon juice. Added some peas too.
Drank 2.5 pints of water, 1 tea with splash of milk, 1 coffee with splash of double cream and 1 miso spoon.

Came to 900 calories

Helpmplease · 07/04/2022 07:51

Meant single cream and soup not spoon!

Helpmplease · 07/04/2022 08:26

4lb down since Monday!

Fjea · 07/04/2022 08:29

Day 5 here. I’m not getting hungry as such, but woke up feeling very weak, which hasn’t really shifted after water, tea and small bowl of porridge. I’m hoping it’s a combination of my period starting yesterday and the antihistamine I took before bed last night. Also, today is the first day the scales have stayed put, which is a bit annoying, but to be expected after the initial water loss I guess? Down 5lbs in total.

ChillinwiththeVillains · 07/04/2022 09:56

Both of you are doing brilliantly. Hope that seeing the scales shift is helping with the hunger pangs.
I am on boring food but having less of the “why not just have a piece of toast?” feelings which does make it easier. I didn’t realise how much automatic eating I do, especially when feeling ill. Feel much more human today so hoping to fit in dog walk too.

Easterdaffsx · 07/04/2022 11:02

Can I join please ?
I'm 5'3 amd 11st 3
Need to lose 18 lbs before July and was planning on doing 5:2 maybe 4:3 as oppose to the very fast 800, so 800 cals 3 days a week . Do you think that's enough ? Would I eat normal calorie amount the other days ?
