I've got lots to lose, I'm feeling lousy, so heavy, achy and sluggish and I can't bear to see myself in the mirror so I'm making a dramatic change. Losing a pound a week is not going to cut it.

I eat far too many carbs so I think this Mediterranean style of eating and the the drastic cut in calories will do me good. I've read the book, I've stocked up on the right foods and cleared out the crap. I haven't eaten yet but I'll have my first meal soon.

I know that it will be hard going at times but the promise of rapid weight loss is worth a bit of pain.

Wish me luck. I'll update on my progress as I go.

Well I weighed in this morning and I'm 16lbs down in 3 weeks which is pretty good. 4lbs off this week. I can't see much difference yet but my face is thinner and I have more energy.

I will carry on for the 8 weeks at least. Hope you all have a good day Grin

@NewFitMe welcome! I've found this group helpful for keeping me motivated and on track. I've just come up to 8 weeks of Fast800, though relax a bit at weekends because I've had social engagements (wine and meals out) and I just found it easier to be able to be good for 5/6 days of the week with one or two more generous days.

@DareDevil223 you are amazing- What amazing results in such a short time.

I've found the last few days really hard and just wanted to snack on crisps and have fallen off the wagon a bit but the scales haven't tipped, so I may have got away with it. New week and determined to stay focussed. I think I need to meal plan a bit more to keep me on track.

cittigirl · 11/03/2019 09:56

I've had a small blip after spending the early hours in hospital after a bit of a scare but all good. I arrived home at 3am and bring hungry and hyped up, I quaffed a sandwich and a bag of crisps. There were better things to eat but I needed carbs.
Back on it now and I don't intend to eat again until tonight so I should undo a bit of damage I hope. Onwards and downwards

KeepSmiling83 · 11/03/2019 15:01

I have started today. I had a berry smoothie for breakfast and a small bowl of soup for lunch. Having chicken and veg stir fry for tea with butternut squash noodles rather than normal noodles!!

I have to say I am very hungry at the moment! I have just had extreme willpower though as my daughter has just eaten a chocolate caramel hot cross bun and I didn't have any!

cittigirl · 11/03/2019 17:13

Bit of a tricky day so far, however I do think my craving for chocolate has subsided hoorah. I've just been in to Tescos and thought I might allow myself a small treat after having a nightmare 24 hours. But nothing took my fancy at all. It's a revelation Grin

KeepSmiling83 · 11/03/2019 17:57

I have had 533 cals so far today - can I use the remaining calories on a yoghurt and one square of dark chocolate? I would still be below 800 cals for the day but I need something sweet to end the day on?

yumyumpoppycat · 11/03/2019 18:08

Yes Keep - think its prob ok to have the square of dark chocolate and yog - they are on plan in moderation, 8 weeks is quite a long time to be at low cals, and actually the meal planner is more likely to go slightly over cals than under (well with the BSD recipes it did). The only exception would be if you were doing a 5:2 version in which case it might be better to keep the spare cals and enjoy the snack tomorrow on a higher cal day.

yumyumpoppycat · 11/03/2019 18:09

assuming the yog is natural/ greek yog and not sweetened. If it's sweet then prob still ok but might make you hungrier in the long run.

Catbot · 11/03/2019 18:18

That's a good point though. Are we avoiding sugar and starch to stop the cravings or to be slightly in ketosis (ie burning fat)? Or both?

I'd put a pound on this morning but I've eaten nothing all day and will have my 800 in one go at tea time. Just had a mug of bovril and it was lovely!

Go you Daredevil! I quite like the idea of doing 800 cals until I reach a certain weight and then switching to 5:2, and also having a day off every week. Missing cheese......

KeepSmiling83 · 11/03/2019 19:13

@yumyumpoppycat thank you. I doubt I would be able to stick with it very long if I had to give up all chocolate and treats! This way I am more likely to keep going for longer.

I am hoping that by sticking to 800 cals each day I will still manage to lose weight. Only on day 1 and very hungry but hoping this will go after a few days!

NewFitMe · 11/03/2019 19:51

Well done daredevil! That’s impressive.

So I skipped lunch today because I felt a bit nauseous. I just didn’t feel like eating. And dinner was grated carrots, salad leaves and Bolognese sauce. And I went for an half and hour jog. I must say I’m starving now but I’ve brushed my teeth and in bed now. I can’t wait to see how I’ll look in 4, 8 or 12 weeks from now. I want to be under 70kg before June so 12kg down. Should be realistic.

Also I’m in Finland so it’s two hours ahead of U.K. time 😁 and I don’t know how to do the bold letters...

DownRightAmazing · 11/03/2019 20:43

Day 6 for me and I've been generally hungry today, more so than the previous days but I don't know why really :/

For dinner we had a roast and I didn't have any potatoes and didn't miss them which was a nice surprise. I weighted out parsnips and carrots and roasted them with a measured amount of olive oil so that I knew what I was having and had tonnes of boiled veg too - very tasty and satisfying. I did have some gravy but I counted the calories and think I'm ok.

MozzchopsThirty · 11/03/2019 20:52

Hello all I'm just popping over from the 5:2 thread which I've been doing for about 4 weeks. No real change for me as I like to drink and eat at the weekend

I'm going to try fast 800 for the next 10 working days (no point in pretending I'll manage the weekends)
I have a holiday in 2 weeks
Currently 9st 8lbs
Would love to be 8st 13 or even 9st

This thread is inspiring and you're all doing so well, great support Smile

Goandplay · 11/03/2019 21:15

I’m joining you all. Well done everyone. I bought the book Sunday and have nearly finished.
I never seem to get hungry (because I constantly eat!) so I need to learn to stop constantly grazing. I think this will reset my eating habits.

I’m going to do the hours fasting as well. Only eating in a 10 hour window to begin with and moving to 8 hours in a week.

UAEMum · 12/03/2019 02:02

Day 2 for me. The quinoa porridge was odd but not vile once I got into it. Courgette fritters were lush.
Dinner was like a curried salmon which I had with broccolli.
So this morning my blood sugar was happily in the low end of normal and I have lost 1.1kg.
More quinoa for brekki today then a halloumi and avocado salad. Sweet potato and lentil soup for dinner.

Jacksback · 12/03/2019 07:18

Day 16 and no change . I am frustrated with this but trying to stay focused . I have a weekend break in 10 weeks so keeping that in my mind , want to be strolling not lumbering,

cittigirl · 12/03/2019 07:57

It's disheartening isn't it jacksback but you'll probably find you'll wake up tomorrow having lost a few. When I was doing sw I used to have a week staying put or even a slight gain and then the next week, having done nothing different, I'd lose few lb.

1st day of a new week for me and I'm down 6.75lb. 😊

OhMrTumnus · 12/03/2019 09:17

@Jacksback. I feel your frustration- if it helps, I'm further along and just looking back at my weigh ins, around the 3 week mark I was stuck at the same weight for about 10 days but then the weight started dropping off again (at about a rate of 1kg a every 5-7 days).

Jacksback · 12/03/2019 12:22

Lovely lunch , half pk m and s ratatouille 98 cal and 4 of their tiny lamb koftas 51 cal each , lovely
Did eat an Oreo , was handed to me by a colleague , and eaten before I could blink 🤭
Think I need some bran or something
Then it will get me going both literally and on the scales ( sorry if tmi )
Thanks for kind words this morning xv

ParmaViolet44 · 12/03/2019 13:35

Tricky weekend for me, long standing social event that I couldn't avoid. Definitely went well over my 800 cals but managed to get straight back on the horse on Monday! Hovering at around 8/9lb loss in my 3rd week but expect I will lose more once I'm able to start running again.

Have been meal planning a lot more carefully lately, those evenings when I know I need to be running around with the kids I'm either taking dinner with me or having it prepared and ready so I can eat before I leave.

Looking forward to my dinner! Green salad bowl with salmon, butternut squash, figs, houmous and some pico de gallo. Took ages to weigh everything out and prepare but looks amazing and I've saved the recipe and made extra for later in the week. Otherwise I just get too hungry and that's when I reach for the crap easy option.

I must say I have found giving up the booze easier than I thought. That was becoming a bit of a habit in the evenings, sleeping much better without it!

Well done all!

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 12/03/2019 16:32

Not lost anything since Friday. I have been constipated until today, so hopefully tomorrow morning will be a better idea of what I have lost, I'd be happy with a half a pound! I have taken a brilliant book out of the library called 'I quit sugar, simplicious' it's Australian but has brilliant tips on low carb, low natural sugars, refined sugar free, high fat and protein and is realistic about budgeting.

Well done @daredevil !!!! Go you X
I am craving my mud cake. It's going to be my 12 week reward. Blush

Catbot · 12/03/2019 21:22

Ooh, what's a mud cake? I've been using keto sticks leftover from doing Biwi's boot camp and I'm well and truly in ketosis. Which I think means I'm burning fat? Hope so.

I'm finding it quite easy not to eat in the day but come tea time it's a struggle not to scoff DSs leftovers or raid the fridge! Or have a glass of wine. I have in the back of my head that it won't be forever and I'll be able to go back to eating pasta and cheese and nibbles but, of course, I can't really. It's going to take a long time to adjust. I'm going to have a tricky weekend, going out Friday, Saturday and Sunday Confused

Today I had a chicken noodle cup a soup and an omelette for tea.

NewFitMe · 13/03/2019 05:37

I love mudcake! I literally bake that every time I want to bake something. It’s like a raw chocolate cake 😁
Yesterday went well. I didn’t get my 10000 steps which was annoying but Fitbit says I burned over 2000 cals anyway.. I went out for lunch, had a massive salad without dressing and chicken curry soup and dinner was shredded carrots, lettuce and bolognese sauce. I went for a 30min jog this morning at 6. I can’t believe I managed to do that but I feel so energized and happy now. And starving!! 3 hours before I’m gonna break the fast. I’m gonna have mushroom and goat cheese omelette with lettuce 🤤🤤🤤 can’t wait

DownRightAmazing · 13/03/2019 07:44

First week done - 9lb off! So that's motivated me for the next week, hopefully at least 6lb next week and I'll have my first stone :)

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 13/03/2019 10:30

@catbot mudcake is a really dense chocolate cake. Mine has no flour and I use raw cocoa, BUT it has a lot of cream, eggs, honey, and 70% chocolate in it so it's calorie heavy and a definite treat! But I cannot frikkin wait! As an aside, I have found eating 6 gherkins whilst I'm making dinner stops me craving carbs oddly and it's about 50 calories.
Me too @NewMe, it's our go to cake, it also is amazing frozen and thinly sliced.
@DownRight well done!!!!! So so chuffed for you X

I am finally over the slump with a one and a half pound loss!!! Yaaaayyyy!!!!

I'm currently making a big pot of chicken broth (DP has flu) the smell of which is oddly making me feel like I've eaten Hmm anyway I may have an apple or some chia porridge later, but now I'm ok.

I'm now 21lb from where I started and 9lb away from my previous heaviest weight pre-medication which is where I'll feel like I can properly begin!
