I've got lots to lose, I'm feeling lousy, so heavy, achy and sluggish and I can't bear to see myself in the mirror so I'm making a dramatic change. Losing a pound a week is not going to cut it.

I eat far too many carbs so I think this Mediterranean style of eating and the the drastic cut in calories will do me good. I've read the book, I've stocked up on the right foods and cleared out the crap. I haven't eaten yet but I'll have my first meal soon.

I know that it will be hard going at times but the promise of rapid weight loss is worth a bit of pain.

Wish me luck. I'll update on my progress as I go.

Nobody puts on3lb of fat overnight , you know it’s just the other stuff ..chin up , you can do this ! 💐would send cake put is ‘not allowed 🤪

Day 13 and still no movement on the (new ) scales . I lost 6lb very quickly and I haven’t lost any more . Will keep on keeping on . I know from all your great losses that it can be done so will continue to focus and cross fingers .

cittigirl · 09/03/2019 18:18

Have you checked your old scales jacksback they may show a different weight. Then just start with the new ones

DownRightAmazing · 09/03/2019 18:41

Day 4 has gone pretty smoothly. I was concerned that weekends would be harder with everyone being home but it was fine.

I had a late breakfast of boiled eggs with asparagus 'soldiers' - feels like a test coz I love asparagus and kept me going nicely even when we went into town and DH/DS got lunch from the bakers. Then a snack of salad with water thin ham and a reduced fat Caesar dressing from Tesco. Dinner we all eat together so I save most of my cals but it was very nice - just simply cooked pork loin with loads of different veggies, some roasted and some boiled. I did wedges for DH&DS and other than a passing instinct to pop one in my mouth I didn't miss it.

So that's the 4th day of 800 cals and tbh I am really impressed with myself. I would usually eat AT LEAST 3 times that. I'm not weighing till it's been a full week but feeling hopeful :)

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 09/03/2019 18:59

Thanks @Jacks I know you are right. I made wholemeal pancakes with strawberries for breakfast which were actually really nice. I had a bacon chop, tinned tomatoes and w poached eggs for tea with a wholemeal sourdough crispbread. Absolutely lush. Off to snuggle with dp and Tony soprano now.

millionaireshortie · 09/03/2019 20:53

@DareDevil223 could you list a few of your go to meals on this diet that you've enjoyed and found easy to whip up? What do you do for lunches at work? Do you eat breakfast or skip? Thank you! You are doing so well!!

DareDevil223 · 09/03/2019 21:26

@millionaireshortie

I have 2 meals a day, lunch and dinner. Today I had 2 veggie sausages and 2 scrambled eggs for lunch, dinner was a chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto with roasted courgette, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes.

For lunch I have things like overnight oats with Greek yogurt and berries.
Protein pancakes and berries
Ham, chicken or tuna salad.

Dinner is usually some sort of protein with lots of veggies. Tomorrow I'm having a mince and vegetable stew. Ham and eggs with roasted asparagus, smoked salmon that sort of thing. I have the occasional slice of rye sourdough but there's not much room for carbs other than fruit and veg. I use herbs and spices to make things taste as nice as possible and I won't waste calories on anything that I don't like Smile

Day 3 and am 4lbs down! Yay!

Had a slight blip last night when I got the late night munchies, Had some ham (50cals) and some of my leftover dinner, I was under my calories for the day though so ended the day at around 850.
Must get to bed earlier to stop this happening.

Was mega busy today and didn't eat until I got home until after 3,wasn't even hungry :)

Catbot · 09/03/2019 22:28

Well done movin! I think my taste buds are changing - I had four gherkins today and they were absolutely lovely!

cittigirl · 10/03/2019 07:03

Start of day 6 for me and I'm 4.5lb down. Reasonably happy with that I think. It'll be great if it continues at the same rate. Some tricky moment with cravings but I've managed to overcome it. I even had lunch out yesterday and chose very wisely. Hope everyone has an easy Sunday!

Catbot · 10/03/2019 07:51

Morning! I'm another pound down this morning but it's Sunday which means a big lunch for us. I'm planning on having just the one meal and having lots of veg and I think I will treat myself to a glass of wine. I can't believe I've lost 10lb in a week, a can't see or feel much difference but maybe that's because I am very overweight (started at 14st 6lb). I think MM says you lose it all from your insides first?

How's everyone else getting on?

cittigirl · 10/03/2019 08:02

Wow 10lb, that's incredible. How much do you want to lose altogether catbot

DownRightAmazing · 10/03/2019 08:43

Going to ikea for lunch today - what can I have???

Jacksback · 10/03/2019 09:10

Day 14 ... and still stuck on a 6 lb loss .. did have a bit of a relax yesterday but all week strictly at 800
Will double check everything cal wise this week .. new summer clothes are in the shops and I have made a deal withmyself not to buy until I lose another 12, !
Well done catbot amazing loss
Happy Sunday everyone !

millionaireshortie · 10/03/2019 09:10

Thank you @DareDevil223 very helpful!

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 10/03/2019 14:51

I'm happy to report the mystery 3lb has buggered off. Hurrah. I'm losing about 5lb a week now. DP and I have decided we're going to be doing the full 12 weeks as it's just so straight forward and actually relatively easy.

Well done @catbot amazing loss!!!. @jacks I was like that week 2, if you can, ride it out. It'll get going again. I was advised to try and up your fibre and drinks and that seemed to kick start things again.

Good luck for this week everyone xxx

DareDevil223 · 10/03/2019 15:48

Well done GhostBuster I thought it must be fluid. I'm planning to do eight weeks, then do 5:2 for a few weeks and then may be do another 4 weeks on the 800 cals. In the book it says that intermittent dieting can be really effective. I think I will need a bit of a break after 8 weeks.

I can't see any difference at all in how I look but I think I will need to lose at least 3 or 4 plus stone before I can tell. I'm feeling a little disgusted with myself today but I know that isn't helpful.

GhostBustersFavouriteMum · 10/03/2019 16:04

@Daredevil sending hugs. I know exactly how you feel I need to lose another 10lb before I'm at my psychological starting point once I'm there I have several stone to lose. I was feeling so shite yesterday I actually slept most of the afternoon away. This morning though it was better. Feeling disgusted with oneself is absolutely natural, BUT you are doing this amazing weight loss, you have said to yourself 'actually yes, I am worth the effort to make this change.' you have managed to put all the old white noise which tells to losing weight is akin to sorcery in the past, you have decided to attempt AND achieved this fantastic new way of being. You. You. You. You're amazing, You're doing an amazing job and you totally got this. Flowers

DareDevil223 · 10/03/2019 17:16

Ghostbuster thank you, you are such a sweetheart Flowers I also feel that I have about 10lbs to lose to get back to my previous highest weight then I'll have about another 6 stone as I am determined to go all the way to a healthy BMI. We've definitely got this and you are amazing too xx

I want to join you guys. I need to lose about 20kg. I absolutely hate how I look and I’ve just separated from my partner and my confidence is nowhere to be seen. I want to start feeling good and hopefully be more social and actually enjoy life. Super scared and excited to do fast800. If you don’t mind I’d like to report everyday how my day went so hopefully I won’t binge or eat crap

I am starting the diet properly today. Have joined online and downloaded everything. Having a blueberry quinoa thing for breakfast, courgette fritters with a spinach salad and some curried salmon fillet thing. Sounds nice. I will do 16:8

Jacksback · 11/03/2019 07:20

Day15 puta1lb on !and I am very constipated
Hoping roast Mediterranean veg and tuna at lunch will help and prunes
What do you all suggest to get things moving ? Heard of flaxseed / linseed but not sure how to use them

NewFitMe · 11/03/2019 07:52

So I weighed myself this morning and... 81.7kg. I think I’ll do 800 cals for the first 4 weeks and then see how it’s going. Or do 800 till I reach 70kg? My lunch is going to be green veg and boiled egg 👍🏻
