Ok, I know we technically haven't finished 2022 yet as there is still the Christmas Concert for some (my ds is not taking part due to his conservatoire concert) but NYMT have released details of their 2023 season & auditions here

All the percussion/drums and keyboards came from there too at least last year for the shows Ds was involved in!

I suspect that might mean they come from the place they used for the christmas rehearsal this year then - apparently their head of music is heavily involved in NYMT - I can't remember which of the creative team that is.

That venue was awful for us to get to - to the point of we wouldn't do the christmas concert again if it means a rehearsal there 😂

Where did they use?

Ds rehearsed at Westminster for Showcase. He asked to take his own keyboard due to him wanting to be familiar with the touch but it turned out to be the exact same model as the ones provided.

Chess had 3 keyboards and they asked if Ds would please bring his along along with a load of other tech.

Well apparently they need LOTS of musicians! And they’ve used one of my favourite photos to advertise this.

Oh now you're asking! I only know it took me over two hours trying to get from there to the Barbican and I missed the first half of the show I was meant to see sob
It was another private school somewhere but it was nowhere near train stations etc

We had some lovely emails here at lunchtime today. DS has been recalled for armchair and DD for both kiss me Kate and armchair. Both emails say that they will be also considered for the concert and the workshop so two happy faces here. Hope some more have had nice news too and best of luck to all who are auditioning this weekend.

Slight disappointment here as no recall after being cast last year. But that's the way it goes! Still in with a shot at musician so 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Good news here for DS, too; recalls for Armchair and KMK together with consideration for the concert and workshop. So much talent in the room but the casting for specific parts really does make it feel tough! Good luck to those yet to audition.

Well done to those with recalls - great news - and commiserations to the DC not recalled. I do think the mid teens are treacherous years... glad that there is still the (very strong in my view!) possibility of getting a musician place.

So sorry to hear that @doesanybodyhaveamap really hope that a musician spot has their name on it! And congratulations to @sleepisoverrated1 DS.

Just looking at the background of NYMT folk and noticed on Alex Sutton's creative page with the Young Vic it says he'll be directing NYMT's Kiss Me Kate at Leicester Curve in August. First venue confirmation?!

Interesting @sleepisoverrated1 - if what Jeremy said at Christmas is right then, that would put two of the productions in Leicester this year - so far!

This whole thing sounds very stressful. I'm not sure I'm up to it! DD will be fine, but I'm another matter!

@NotEvenSlightlyReasonable I can definitely vouch for the fact that this process is harder on parents than on our children, the children get to have a fabulous fun workshop day, we just get to work out all the logistics and wait around!

Thanks for good wishes, of course DS hasn’t updated me at lunchtime so look forward to hearing all about it! All I know is Alex Sutton is there today which is nice!

DS had a lovely day-really nice creatives from Kiss Me Kate on panel today. Said dance for older group was fine and not scary at all. Still no clearer on who’s doing Merrily. So now we wait…argh!

So pleased he's enjoyed his day @minimits. Fingers crossed - the waiting is the worst!
