Ok, I know we technically haven't finished 2022 yet as there is still the Christmas Concert for some (my ds is not taking part due to his conservatoire concert) but NYMT have released details of their 2023 season & auditions here

How’s the waiting room holding out, my NYMT and BYMT friends…?

Too early to start on the gin? Every time my email inbox pings I get a little jolt of nervous anticipation! The good biscuits alone aren't cutting it...

How’s everyone feeling after the weekend?
The nervous wait never gets any easier does it?
It’s all been super efficient year and seems to be back to the pre-covid ‘norm’ so I don’t imagine it’ll be too long before the first wave of news starts filtering through.

I think we can all safely ignore pinging emails until at least Wednesday night at the very earliest, more likely Thursday or Friday. DS is now waiting for the 8th time for recall results from NYMT, if we count the year everything was cast and then the pandemic hit and no shows were performed. Obviously since he was about 15 he's received the emails rather than me, but I've still been on high alert along with everyone else! I think the news came on a Wednesday evening once. My bet is Thursday as that used to be the most common results day. I also REALLY hope they go back to doing all the no thanks emails first...

I think that adds to the anticipation! I wouldn't normally worry about it for a few days but knowing that Armchair has already been cast makes me want to know the outcomes, too! Have to remind myself it's not about me but DS, who seems to have switched off from the process and moved onto the next thing 😂

@wonderfullife123 how old is your dd? I think there are a lot for the showcase this year and last year was a cast of around 30 I think- so don’t worry if it doesn’t happen this year, general rule of thumb seems to be if you get recalled you have got what they are looking for so should try again.
I’m not finding the waiting bit too hard so far but if it gets into next week whoever stocks the waiting room will need to bring more alcohol!

Thanks @Alakazam8 - DD is 15 but her first time auditioning for this. She's pretty resilient so I'm sure she'll be fine anyway. She was very happy to get a recall at any rate and will most definitely try again.

@wonderfullife123 I agree she should be very happy with herself for getting a recall and what will be this year, will be for all of us.
15 is a difficult casting age (between child and adult roles) so she has done really well!

I know it is hard, but not as bad as last year! I won’t be saying the same thing though if this goes into next week!

And definitely not as hard as 2021 when I think it was April? Although I’m still amazed they even got to do a show that year.

Right, surely today?? Poor DS is waiting for news from drama schools and NYMT, and it's all due about now but not here yet. It's so distracting!

I'm waiting with bated breath for all of you and as team B I'll not hear anything today for us!

Another 3 weeks or so to go and I'm worried we'll run out of biscuits...

Results on way - a no for DD this time unfortunately but at least we don't have to juggle with other commitments. Back in the waiting room for BYMT now. Keeping fingers crossed for everyone!

Sorry to hear that @Alakazam8 and @wonderfullife123 Hope that there isn't too much disappointment. My DD is thinking about doing the camps - is that something you might consider?

Sorry to hear @Alakazam8 and thank you @Montimom and @allhailthebrain - knew it was a longshot and also it would have meant DD missing something else which she was also keen on so perhaps wasn't meant to be this time. I think she'll be fine actually as she was torn about the other activity. She'll definitely try again as was pleased to be recalled.
