Ok, I know we technically haven't finished 2022 yet as there is still the Christmas Concert for some (my ds is not taking part due to his conservatoire concert) but NYMT have released details of their 2023 season & auditions here

Me, and we aren't even waiting for news (well, except for news on drama school applications, but that's a whole other story...)! I really hope NYMT will get back to all your DC this week so they don't have to wait too much longer. I know when they have had a taste of it, which many on this thread have, they really want another chance to take part, and it can sit uppermost in the mind and be pretty distracting while waiting for news! Fingers crossed it won't be long now.

No - not expecting to hear anything from her school interview/audition until Friday and even then its just the first step because of the whole MDS funding application.

This week is going slow for sure. I've gone back to counting sleeps until Friday 😂

I'd forgotten how convoluted the journey to Alleyn's is from some destinations. I think it'll actually be easier for DS to come home and go from here.

Tell me about it @Triflefan! The fact they no longer use a central location adds a lot of time and expense for us 🤷🏼‍♀️

How are the applications going @Biscuitsneeded ?
I found that really quite stressful last year. It felt like a full time job driving around to auditions and recalls!

It's an extra little challenge for us!
I haven't checked checked if there are train strikes. Please say there aren't any.

If there are, I’m toast!! If we get a recall it needs to be Saturday as we need to be in Leeds for castings on the Sunday - so that’s down the country, back up and then back up some more! No way I can drive it in those timings…

We can only do the Saturday for recalls too but I let Jeremy know and he said that's fine.

I'm guessing we won't get audition material until a couple of days before as there are still first round auditions the previous weekend which they'll need to look at. It'll be a tight turnaround!

ive been unwell and had a dream that I’d got through to NYMT recalls but then didn’t get cast but just got put on the reserve list 😂😂😂 I was really cross lol

Ha for the first time I’m actually happy that it’s so busy in work I haven’t time to checking emails!! Silver lining and all that ❤️

Thank you @Triflefan . Applications are going well but it's a lot of self-taping and writing statements and travelling around for DS. Not much schoolwork is getting done! I think your DS is a year older. Is he on a theatre-related college course now?

@Mcmumager Haha I always have those sorts of dreams too, when DS has things going on. I used to youth theatre and it brings back a lot of memories! Normally in my dream I have failed to go to any rehearsals or learn any lines, and it's opening night...

Another one here who can only do Saturday recalls too. Dd has a festival performance on the Sunday.
I have checked my email every time it has pinged today!!! It’s just been silly emails from Centre Parks and the like though…

@sleepisoverrated1 You should hopefully get the audition materials about a week beforehand. In the past they have gone out the previous weekend, and then they make very quick decisions on those who audition at the final first round weekend, and get the stuff out to them within a day or two.

@sleepisoverrated1 I mean the recall materials, obviously.

I've gone the other way and put my phone on Do Not Disturb because I was checking every notification. I figured that this thread will update when there is news 😆 I am no good whatsoever at waiting!

@Alakazam8 I have a funny feeling there won't be any news until the start of next week. I think not knowing when there will be an answer is absolutely the worst - if you know exam results are released on X day you can put it to the back of your mind until that day, but when it could be any minute it is so hard to not keep checking!

I’ve been wondering/thinking that too but I’m hoping not really- would love to know today so we don’t have the weekend to wait!

DD got home from school an literally the first words out of her mouth were "did I get in?". Urrrrrrrrrrrgh!
