Ok, I know we technically haven't finished 2022 yet as there is still the Christmas Concert for some (my ds is not taking part due to his conservatoire concert) but NYMT have released details of their 2023 season & auditions here

@Montimom My kiddo said that it was a lovely friendly relaxed atmosphere which is so nice to hear. I hate those auditions when kids are turning aerials in the waiting area and trying to out high kick each other😂Good to see that everyone was being supportive of the other candidates

@Alakazam8 Noooo, no news yet! I'm guessing the team will sit down in the week and review the Manchester and Leeds audtions together hoping for an email by Friday as that seems to be the timeframe from previous auditions. Fingers crossed for everyone :)

Ha ha @MxPickles ive been at those auditions too- when the little darlings are nearly knocking cups out your hand whilst doing aerials and high kicks but their parents seem oblivious 😂😂

Mine said they were told it might take longer than previous weeks because they have 4 sets of auditions this weekend rather than two - however, I’m not sure they’ll want it to go on beyond Friday personally because it’ll impact on processing next weekend’s auditions if so.

@NotEvenSlightlyReasonable absolutely not, you stay right where you are! Mine auditioned for BYMT last year - we couldn’t accept the offers due to clashes but that’s just life! We certainly wouldn’t rule it out again in future, but for this year we are seeing what happens with NYMT first.

But do bring the good biscuits, the waiting room is stressful and we don’t do well on Tesco value on this occasion 🙃

Anyone can come in if they bring the right biscuits (alcohol) 😃

@Alakazam8 oooof hahah yes of course. Kiddo just said it was a nice relaxed atmosphere and she enjoyed the day. She came out really happy just having enjoyed it so can't ask for much more than that really! Hope that we do hear by this weekend x

Yes me too- otherwise it’ll be even more stressful being the first group to go over a week before results! What did your dd sing- if you don’t mind saying?

Any news yet from todays auditions for NYMT or BYMT?

Thank you all, I'm now in the waiting room, hoping there's space on a comfy sofa because I'm here till March. Certainly no cheap biscuits, who wants those?

DD had a blast, she thoroughly enjoyed it and would really love to do it if offered the chance so I'm counting it as a success. She's looking a bit tired now though. And it's Monday tomorrow, and another audition 😀

@Alakazam8 my DD was the one who sang Gertrude from Suessical. Which was yours /what did they sing? Kiddo said to me today she made some friends at the audition and hopes to get chance to see them again:)

@NotEvenSlightlyReasonable DD also has a big audition tomorrow in Chester. Wondering if its for the same thing???

@MxPickles definitely not! It's her drama group summer show. Guaranteed to get a part, auditioning for the one she wants.

@MxPickles my dd sang Live Out Loud from a little Princess. She mentioned your dd’s song as one of her faves from yesterday. If your dd goes further all the kids are really friendly and tend to stay in touch at least throughout rehearsals and shows- like a big family really!

@Alakazam8 and @MxPickles my DD was in a group with yours and loved both their songs. She sang part of your world and was up first I believe

@NotEvenSlightlyReasonable Good luck to your DD for tomorrow. My kiddo has her first round for Hammond School which is a major nail biter for us!

@Alakazam8 @Montimom It sincerely was a really friendly supportive group which has really put me at ease. If my DD is successful it will be her first time away from home (she missed junior school residential trips because of lockdown). Fingers crossed for good news for everyone!

@MxPickles . They really take care of them if she does get further. The pastoral care is amazing with Nymt in my experience.

@Mcmumager Have you spoken to your DS yet? How did it go yesterday for him? Xx

@Biscuitsneeded I’ve not actually seen him yet as I was away and didn’t get back till 1am then he was away to college before I woke.

I think it sounds like it went ok. He wasn’t happy with his song choice- he said it was ‘dead’ but he sang it fine. I think he enjoyed the acting and I think really enjoyed the dancing so who knows!

By the time I spoke to him he was stressed over a last minute self tape he had to do then overthinking the audition so I might get a more balanced view tonight!

@Mcmumager glad your son seemed to have enjoyed it too. Seems to have been a good weekend! Here’s hoping for a set of good results!

@Alakazam8 hoping you get the good news this week.

Mine is in for her audition now. TBH as she is auditioning to go in to year 8 we know that the chance of an offerwith MDS is slim but unless you try you never know!

Good luck to mini pickles. 2 big auditions close together is a lot for them!

Fingers crossed @Mcmumager . It's always too easy after the event to look back and regret certain choices, but if he loved the dancing and the acting and thinks the singing went OK that's hopefully a good sign. Sometimes doing all three well as opposed to one thing amazingly is actually more useful to a company. An older boy who can dance, act and sing will hopefully be a valuable asset.

If it helps, if they get a recall, they are provided with the material to prepare - so no more overthinking choices of song etc

BYMT is just one round - though the difference is that they cast once rehearsals start and the group are all together :)

@MxPickles how did your dd get on at the other audition?
