So, with BYMT auditions already underway and NYMT open for booking, it's surely time for a 2022 thread?? Who's in?

Submitted DD's NYMT actor self-tape and booked her audition today, eek! Need to also get her musician audition recorded this side of Christmas as we go on hols on 27th and she's back to school on 4/5th (PCR dependent 🙈)

Fingers crossed for all those waiting on NYT recall results today! 🍀🍀🤞🤞

Well we have good news from NYT here. Eeek! Hope others got good news too....? It's DS' 2nd year of trying and I didn't think it was very likely, but now he's done it he can't really say no. Luckily he has a part-time job so can help to pay for it. @DalekFan @allhailthebrain any news?

No, my DD didn’t try for NYT. However, she did do a late BYMT online audition and has been offered the same show as @Mcmumager’s DS, so they will be reunited this year!

@DalekFan fantastic! Glad to hear it - I know she loved it last year so well done to her! We've had to turn down BYMT unfortunately.

NYMT in Concert band call today

Ds and Dh left last night at 10.15pm after Ds came off stage from a week of a dram shows. Unfortunately M1 closure meant they didn’t get to their motorway hotel until 1am. But they got there this morning, only half an hour late.

ds’s friend took the overnight Megabus arriving at 6am after an evening working.

Dedication.

@Comefromaway my kids are there today. I thought we had it bad enough (problems on our line from suburbia, so had to go a different route, arrived 3 minutes late) but that's nothing compared to your story! We're all delightfully mad, aren't we?! I'm now baking for stuff for their journey tomorrow as they're off on a trip with their youth orchestra.

I hope all the NYMT cast had a great time in their concert yesterday.

Ds has 3 day casting for Educating Yorkshire from tomorrow- it’ll be a welcome break from gcse revision- he can’t wait to get started.

Ds arrived home last night about 8.30pm absolutely hyped up (musicians were not involved in the Sondheim concert).

I on the other hand need to sort travel and hotels for July!

DS and I watched the SSSPOTY awards last night. We wanted to show support to NYMT friends and he knew a few finalists. What a show!

@Biscuitsneeded wasn’t it incredible! Such unbelievable talent on stage.

I'm going to start a thread on this board about applying for drama school. If anyone on here has a DC with recent experience of this, please do chip in. I've put something on the Higher Education board too, but looking at the threads there it's much more weighted in favour of parents clutching their pearls at their offspring failing to get into Oxbridge and having to rough it at Durham! (Tongue in cheek, but really I suspect there will more parents who 'get it' here than there!). Please do post on my thread if you have any advice to offer!

Haha, I'm on both boards as I have DCs of both ages/interests. There's always stuff to be gleaned, learned or passed over, that's why I love Mumsnet. But you are probably right that you are more likely to find your people on this one 😃

I've posted on both boards. There is also a lot of info over on NAPM (I'm a regular contributor there too, you will probably find me quite easily as I talk about NYMT there as well)

@Comefromaway I think I've worked out who you are on NAPM! I have followed the 2022 thread. It just seems like such a stressful process - well done to all the DC who have come out of it with offers! I might start a 2023 thread later this year, although I think most people are after MT as opposed to acting, as I'm sure the process/timescale is similar.
