So, with BYMT auditions already underway and NYMT open for booking, it's surely time for a 2022 thread?? Who's in?

Submitted DD's NYMT actor self-tape and booked her audition today, eek! Need to also get her musician audition recorded this side of Christmas as we go on hols on 27th and she's back to school on 4/5th (PCR dependent 🙈)

It is frustrating, I understand. I'd be wary of accepting at face value any rumours that might be circulating, though. Last week some the Hunchback cast from last year were completely convinced the results were coming on Thursday night because somebody who appeared to have some inside knowledge said with apparent conviction that they were - that person was wrong, and they didn't! I think some of the older ones suspect they know, from being in the room last weekend and feeling the reactions, who is in the running for some key roles, but I really don't think anyone knows anything for definite. The longer the wait goes on, the more the Chinese whispers build, but with luck they will all have news this week. My DS was told last Sunday 'don't expect to hear anything this coming week but you should hear the week after', so I am just hopeful they may hear earlier rather than later this week and then we can all get on with sorting out school holiday logistics!

I’m trying to avoid asking DS! He thinks I’m pestering him but he has been known to miss things.
I was just nipping on to see if emails had started but I’ll assume not as I think we have all shows covered with our DCs?

@Biscuitsneeded I'm told there was a zoom call with the Chess leads to look at chemistry. However I had this third or fourth hand by the time it gets to me so who knows

Junk mail should be banned when we are in the waiting room, it's annoying when the new email is from Halfords rather than NYMT...

Eeek... hope nobody gets in to trouble!! If there was a zoom I'll bet they weren't meant to talk about it 😬😬😬

It's probably best not to speculate or enquire further. It can really only be a matter of days until all is revealed in any case.

In the meantime, cocktails anyone?

Will have to stick to a cocktail of strepsils and paracetamol to go alongside my charming dose of covid which means I have FAR too much time on my hands!!

Any guesses when BYMT will start - think it seems like they will be phased throughout March as they sort logistics etc.

Morning all! I saw the news on Twitter.

In fairness they did say 2 weeks at recalls.
I guess we all hoped it might be a little less though.
At least we won't be checking emails now so that's a bonus.

Just logged into this chat to see if anyone else had yet heard and reread. I don’t know what I was replying to before and the typo changed it entirely 😂 DC is a indeed a girl. Checking emails on average of a billion times a day, but did just see that should have result next week. Fingers are so crossed!

My DC is a musician, any idea of when musicians might hear for NYMT as I see from the website that the closing date for musician entries changed from mid Feb, when my DC put in her video, to the end of March. Doesn’t appear that her YouTube video has been looked at yet either.

Usually it's not long after the casting decisions have been made. The MD's are very tied up with that at the moment and also there are some kids (like mine!) that apply as both actors and as musicians so they seem to see where they end up with the actor process first.

I see they've extended the deadline but as it says applications will be accepted on a 'rolling basis' I reckon those that have already applied will hear before the new closing date. My bet is a week or two after castings are released. But that's not based on any inside knowledge!

Hi All. Just checking in, nothing to report. Mercifully, we are having a very hectic week here, so I hope the time will pass quickly. DS is very good at compartmentalising, so NYMT has been mentally filed in the 'worry about from about Sunday onwards' box. I have a longish commute to work and have been (possibly unwisely) listening to Ragtime in the car - gosh it's good. I will be seeing that show regardless of whether DS is involved - I think it will be amazing. Hope all are managing the waiting OK.

DD is more focused on a big performance next week (Bruch violin concerto, my all time fave and a moment I've been hoping for since she first picked up a violin at 5.... it's going to be emosh!!!!) so NYMT is filed away for her too atm. Also having a busy week. Wish I could say that was stopping me from hopefully refreshing my email far more regularly than usual, but I'd be lying!

It’s great to have the breathing space, mentally filed away till next Monday when I will once again have repetitive strain injury from refreshing my inbox

I’m not sure if it’s better or worse once the emails go to the kids themselves…at least before I could time when to break the disappointment…
