So, with BYMT auditions already underway and NYMT open for booking, it's surely time for a 2022 thread?? Who's in?

Submitted DD's NYMT actor self-tape and booked her audition today, eek! Need to also get her musician audition recorded this side of Christmas as we go on hols on 27th and she's back to school on 4/5th (PCR dependent 🙈)

My dd enjoyed it too. They were very good with her. Unfortunately she had an allergic reaction today that made her nose sore and running. They were very understanding about that though. I don’t mind if she gets any further now. She enjoyed her time today and got the chance to perform for them.

Anti histamine has really helped. Not great in Covid times to audition with a runny nose.

All ok here, thought it went well - hard to say much without it making me totally identifiable to any NYMT bods that might read this public thread!

Most frustrating...

Let's just say it's going to entirely depend on what they're looking for so it could easily go either way.

We heard two weeks as well, sadly - due to all the self tapes.

Shame dd is soo much better today. She was a lot quieter and obviously under the weather yesterday- oh well. At least this isn’t her last chance.

@Alakazam8 that is a shame, but you never know quite what goes on or what the panel see in 'the room where it happens', and as you say, she's young and can try again. If she enjoyed the day that's already a bonus.

I'm on Day 8 of Covid here and still testing positive (waves at at least one other who I know to be in a similar boat). I have to say the effect of nothing but my own company in four small walls is making me even more impatient than normal! Hope all the DC are handling the waiting better than me...

Sorry to hear your daughter had a reaction at recalls.
I hope she's ok now.
I'm sure they will appreciate she may not have been on top form.

We have had drama school auditions this week plus driving theory so today is the first time I've thought about news!

@Biscuitsneeded I hope you're on the mend soon. It's such a weird virus. We certainly got off lightly but we are still exhausted. Maybe that's unrelated?!

Im not really anxious this time about being back in waiting room. Sorry to those that are finding it harder. I have twister, gin, biscuits and chocolate for those who may need them…

Thanks @Triflefan. 95% better and back at work today, so that's a good distraction. I think we hate the waiting so much for two reasons: one because as mothers who know how much it means to the kids (especially when they have been lucky in the past and have loved it so much) and we dread their possible disappointment, and the other because we are the people who have to juggle logistics of school holidays and family life and we like/need to know what is happening! Maybe NYMT will have a massive zoom this weekend to finalise everything, and we might hear early next week?

Fine here- got a lot of other things on. I found it much harder last year when there weren’t other distractions for us. Maybe it’s harder as well if the dc have done it before. Also I’m not really expecting dd to get any further so perhaps not as invested as I would be usually!

DS is convinced it'll be Tuesday. I have no idea why. Hasten to add he has no inside knowledge so this is purely his hunch. I really hope it's not later than that. Hang in there everyone.

This is a really really tough wait. Obviously the tapes have delayed things - but having said that there are rumours some of the Chess cast already know they are cast and what roles, so presumably they have inside knowledge somewhere. Not heard any rumours on the other two shows.

Being honest I just need to know because we have other things we need to sort and confirm for the Easter holidays and we're getting pressured big time, accommodation costs rising by the day... It's frustrating.
