So, with BYMT auditions already underway and NYMT open for booking, it's surely time for a 2022 thread?? Who's in?

Submitted DD's NYMT actor self-tape and booked her audition today, eek! Need to also get her musician audition recorded this side of Christmas as we go on hols on 27th and she's back to school on 4/5th (PCR dependent 🙈)

Ah OK now I heard from someone else that the backing track and the music don't quite match up. Something to do with repeats. No doubt this will become apparent in the room but for now I would try not to worry. Dd should maybe just say she was confused and in any case they will probably have to clarify for everyone!

That makes sense I didn’t think they did either couldn’t get them to!! We will just go over it but not stress and no more tears over it.

Hence I said we think it goes from 99... theres definitely a mismatch both in terms of repeats and the written notation...

Break a leg to all the dc’s taking part this weekend. @doesanybodyhaveamap it’s so kind of you to offer a bit of info about the music following your dd’s audition tomorrow and @Biscuitsneeded I was in that place tonight, wondering if it was the right thing for dd to be recalled but this thread has given me hope that she will enjoy it (when she gets there) whatever happens and that a lack of ability to prepare isn’t the end of the world! If anyone else has positive audition stories id love to hear them…

Hope it went well for everyone.
We were up at 5:30 to find our train was cancelled so we had to drive and get the tube. Now on the way home 😴

Yep the trains are a nightmare but successfully on one home now! DD thinks it went well minus the chess song… but oh well whatever will be will be! Does anyone know when they find out? They didn’t mention apparently…

Various reports on when we will hear ranging from Wednesday/Thursday right up to 2 weeks!!!!! So truth probably somewhere in the middle... there are lots of self tapes to work through which will complicate things.

Well done all. Is it too soon to crack open the gin...?

I hope it went well @Triflefan. Just had a quick call from DS who was happy enough but felt he couldn't really read the room. He says they were told they wouldn't hear this week because of all the self tapes, but would hopefully hear at some point next week.

Cinderella and Ragtime both said 2weeks waiting time yesterday!

Brill, 2 weeks is a manageable wait! Anyone with Chess recalls, how many people were in the group? DD said there were only about 15 compared to about 25 in Ragtime. Either bc if covid etc. or a generally older cast?

Yesterday dd said there were a out 12-15 in Ragtime and about 25 in Cinderella 🤣

@dancingclassicist DS says he thinks there were around 30-40 at his chess audition! And only around 16 in Cinderella so think it must just depend on who could get there when! Sure there must have been some movement in timings as people struggled to travel! So glad they all seem to have had a good time at auditions. DS has always enjoyed them whatever the outcome!
