I use cyclemeter, which gives me a stopwatch, distance, speed, splits, elevation, maps...:) on the iPhone, then I have Rawbert on my iPod telling me what to do.

Still haven't been out and DH away for a couple of weeks so unlikely to get out - was considering running on the spot - think that would work Grin.

the link for the various podcasts are lower down this page (being lazy and can't be bothered to copy them here sorry!). Guess you're baby will have a milkshake! Vary committed of you to go running with a bf baby - I used it as an excuse to eat cake!

Holy Crap, I just signed up for a 6k Santa Jog!

sybilfaulty · 13/11/2010 16:02

Nobiggy, I am doing the Santa 5K in Hyde Park - wonder it it's the same one?

ONly been out once this week but off again tomorrow morning. Hard in the cold weather but quite rewarding.

I am about the same weight, I think, but am a smaller size. I have abs now, but under a blanket of lard. I must stop the wine. Not easy round christmas though.

Keep on running everyone. Hope you get out soon Loler Smile

I'm running in Reading, with my brother. It's quite a hilly park too. I was thinking of heading for the treadmill for the winter too, I'd best stay out a bit longer!

I have posted in this thread a few times - managed to complete C25k in the summer and it really has transformed my approach to exercise - I love that I can now go out for a 30 minute run when I get a window of time! (it doesn't happen often enought though!).

I am doing an evening class in feature writing and my tutor has suggested that I write an article about c25k from a mum's perspective - I think it really fits in well with a mum's lifestyle and gives you a good sense of achievement but I am keen to get others feelings (it would be a bit of a boring article if it was all about me).

There is the chance it might get published!

If you would like to answer a few questions. Why do decided to start c25k, have you managed to complete et..I would be grateful if you could PM me.

sybil, the Santa run looks so cool! I'm sure you will have a great time... although I don't like the sound of Greenwich Park. We used to live across the river. Hope you enjoy your run as well nobiggy :)

How cool having the opportunity to write about your experience, raffiiscool! It will be inspirational... and I'm sure you will be reminded of all sorts of emotions as you increased your running fitness.

I've been out twice this week. Still on week 5 (this must be like the tenth week!!) but can almost comfortably run for 8 mins. I'm very impressed by this. I got an annoying phone call before going out the first evening which really made me pound the pavement Grin. It's so cold out now! Any tips for breathing in the icy air and keeping warm?

Wanting to start next week - is there anywhere to download the pod casts for free - or do you have to pay Thanks

Well, having got to 3 miles last week, today I went the little bit further and did 5km (45 minutes), was faster than last week.

Next job is to get the distance up so I can tackle the 6K Santa Jog next month.

nobiggy · 23/11/2010 12:45

So, anybody still reading, today I have run 6K in new shoes. I was all aches yesterday, but decided to try a run in case it helped, and, at the moment, not feeling too bad. 53 minutes for 6km btw.

loler · 23/11/2010 16:23

woowoo - go you!

I must get out soon, but beginning to realise that I'm a fair weather runner and likely to have to start again in the spring!

nobiggy · 11/12/2010 19:20

Tomorrow is my Santa jog, 6km tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I'll be reporting back having managed it!

nobiggy · 12/12/2010 17:42

So, if anyone's still reading, 6km, 55 minutes. I'm so pleased I did it. And I have a medal :)
