In an effort to be consistent without being overwhelmed we’re doing Flow for March. All practices less than 30 mins, modify freely, make it your own. The series is available on Youtube along with a calendar to download.

Day 13- Ease. There was no ease for me apart from the yummy hip circles. It felt like a Day 6 for sure! Boat is a very dodgy one for me re back and extended leg drops the same. I did my version of both. On catch up mode now!

Wow yoga chick! You recovered fast!
Take it easy though

Agree there was no ease in day 13

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 16/03/2026 08:06

Day 14 welcome
Starts with six minutes of laying on your back and breathing, so I liked it

Yogachick · 16/03/2026 11:17

I’m going to struggle with that @Pinkfluffypencilcase I like my yoga more active ☺️

Day 14-Welcome, strangely enjoyable even though it didn’t seem like it would be for me. Just goes to show, give different practices a go, sometimes they’re good. I was very present with this one. My range of movement in my neck is still limited so looking up is more eyes up but I’m grateful the pain is considerably reduced. Good old naproxen
This evening I did Day 15- Balance. Started with alternate nostril breathing. Balance is my nemesis generally but the raising onto the toes was managed comfortably. Half moon used to be one of my favourite poses pre back/ sciatica. That side is still significantly weaker with less range now so I didn’t feel as light & open on that side. It’s good to challenge, I won’t get evenness back without putting the work in. There was also an interesting little flow, extended child’s pose with toes under, flowing forward onto hands and knees, repeat several times. A relatively easy movement for me but a feel good one. Some moreDD to high lunge to W2 to reverse W to side angle as well. A squat in there as well.

In balance there was also a compressive forward fold, hands behind calves or thighs, feet touching, pull yourself in . This works for Adriene but I’m too big of tummy and boobs. This was a time I should have modified but didn’t, resulting in small breaths, there was no room for me to breath normally and steadily. Don’t make my mistake @Pinkfluffypencilcase adjust the whole thing for your body, it’s more enjoyable that way and more beneficial x

Thanks for the tips @Yogachick
ill do day 14 tomorrow
half way!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 18/03/2026 13:56

Oh I think I missed a day.
I did day 15 today. If I could do one of the twists then I think it’d be a nice stretch.

19 mins today.

Yogachick · 19/03/2026 09:14

Sorry @Pinkfluffypencilcase I’m bowing out. Sooooooo bored,I remember why I have trouble with consistency . Good luck for your journey xxx

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 19/03/2026 11:24

Ahh sorry to hear that @Yogachick

thanks for starting the thread off anyway

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 19/03/2026 12:33

Day 17 rinse
19 mins

still finding forward fold tricky and uncomfortable

Yogachick · 19/03/2026 17:39

Well done @Pinkfluffypencilcase ,are you standing with your feet a generous hip width apart and bending your knees? When I first hurt my back I found forearms on bent knees as I tilted my butt up gave me the benefits without pain. You can have just your hands/ wrists as support on your bent knees if not enough space for forearms

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 19/03/2026 17:58

@Yogachick ive just tried this
it works a treat! No pressure on my belly.

ive just checked the benefits of the forward bend pose. I didnt realise it was good for core and stress. Both of which I could do with.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 22/03/2026 13:51

Day 19 ride
too fast in the middle for me
but liked boat.

Day 18 meditate yesterday I really missed out on proper yoga and I’m sure I felt stiffer next day.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 24/03/2026 23:37

Day 20

19 mins
lizard poses I think
though I couldnt do them

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 24/03/2026 23:40

Midlifeshenanigans · 03/03/2026 17:07

I struggled today- I know my hips are very tight but I really hate lunges. I’m also much shorter and rounder than Adriene so I think I will always struggle with some moves.

Yes my hips are definitely tight
and I’m much shorter than the average. Hate catching sight of myself in mirror!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 26/03/2026 17:09

Day 21
some poses I’ve never done before. Like a reverse archer?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 27/03/2026 11:49

Day 22 truth
lonely now

Lots of mountain poses

Midlifeshenanigans · 27/03/2026 19:15

Sorry for disappearing @Pinkfluffypencilcase . DH had a heart attack and it’s all been a bit tricky here. Still he’s in the mend and I need to get back to yoga soon. Do you have any ideas what you are planning for April?

Oh my god I’m so sorry to read that! I hope he’s getting the treatment he needs.
I have CHF so can somewhat appreciate the issues.

im not sure for April. Flow again possibly. Or on the yoga with Adrienne thread the op mentioned breathe but I wonder if that’s too long. I can just about manage 20 mins with a break and building up.

(BHF is great btw. Lots of useful info.)

Midlifeshenanigans · 27/03/2026 20:23

Thanks @Pinkfluffypencilcase it’s been difficult but hopefully he’s making good progress. I think I will start Flow again on Wednesday (1 April) and do my best to complete it this time. I think 20 minutes is my limit too

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 27/03/2026 20:32

I’ll join you x
its good for calming my mind

I knew i was recovering after i took my mug in the kitchen. That was a big milestone. He’ll get there just takes awhile x

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 29/03/2026 15:05

Day 24 create
i could do most of this one!! Knee dragging on the floor still but maybe a bit more controlled dragging rather than pulling with my hands! A win

Yogachick · 30/03/2026 08:10

I’m back! Day 17 Rinse. I should have persevered, this went to favourites. So delicious to come back, yet again I wonder why I allowed momentary boredom to send me onto the weights/ cardio path. I reaped all the tension, weight gain, feeling negative and stiffness that path has repeatedly shown me. Lovely squats, star, wide legged forward fold has stretched me out nicely. I’ll do another thread for April if anyone is in,I certainly need it for accountability,I’ll be continuing Flow?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 30/03/2026 11:35

Woohoo! Well done @Yogachick

thatd be great.

@Midlifeshenanigans you ok to join too?

im not aiming for perfection. Just turning up when i can. As I said on the other yoga thread. I’ve only just realised it’s helping me sleep better. Normally I stay awake overthinking.
