Another thread to keep going!

It's ballet next week ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I'm considering having another commitment 🤣
48 x 25m swim
79.
7/100

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 05/05/2025 08:31

I occasionally look at the barre class that my yoga studio has just started and wonder about giving it a go, but I’m so inflexible ballet has always been off the agenda. I can’t even do the basic foot positions. Good luck if you go to it!

Lift &Shred workout 1, and the Charleston in my dance DVD.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 06/05/2025 20:22

Short but tough core workout, and the 1980s Rocky dance session.

34/200

Alittlefrustrated · 06/05/2025 22:00

5 mile dog walk
80.
1/100 (this 100 day challenge is proving to be a bit more challenging than the 1st one 😳)

roonetta · 07/05/2025 12:03

Well, after commenting that I don’t do HIIT because of injuries, I have put my back out doing squats with heavy dumbbells. I felt it go during a squat and it is now very painful. It’s my sacroiliac joint I think. I am so annoyed as I was being really consistent (for me), but it looks like I’ll have to take it steady for a few days and hope it gets better. Otherwise it’s a trip to the (very expensive) osteopath 😒

Glad to see everyone else is doing well 😁x

BezMills · 07/05/2025 14:15

Taught Boxercise on the BH and today doing a zoom course on moar Boxercise. 92

That is so frustrating to get injured @roonetta ! Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 07/05/2025 16:09

Oh no, Roonetta, I hope you're OK again soon.

I was supposed to go to the gym last night but I was absolutely shattered and the evening was gorgeous so I had a sea dip instead. I was in the pool at lunchtime today. Shoulder is holding up which is positive!

Be careful Roonetta!
1 hr pilates class.

2/100

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 08/05/2025 09:22

What a pain, roonetta - literally and metaphorically. Take care and I hope it mends soon.

Short weights workout (taking particular care with the squats) and the Bhangra dance mix - I keep having to remind myself that Darcey Bussell was an amazing professional ballerina and it’s not surprising that I look like one of the hippos from Fantasia by comparison.

Are you doing YouTube dance workouts ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson?
1 hr pilates class and 6.6 mile dog walk today

36 x 25m swim

I'll report back after ballet tommorrow. The mind boggles - and I'm the youngest in the class (unless I'm flattering myself 😂).

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 09/05/2025 17:29

I’m very curious about the ballet!

Yoga Inferno workout 2 done, plus the Japanese dance bit of my DVD. (It’s a Darcey Bussell DVD, Alittlefrustrated, with 5-minute sessions of 14 different dance styles. I bought it ages ago and forgot about it.)

36/200.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 10/05/2025 11:07

Lift & Shred workout 1, plus rock ‘n roll dance with Darcey and a skating lesson.

37/200

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/05/2025 12:09

I've had a dreadful week, haven't been able to push myself to get to s&c at all. I did do a lot of walking and some sea dips though, so I'll pretend I made an effort! Today will make up for it. I went to s&c this morning and ds and I are off to climb a hill after lunch, then I'm meeting my swim buddy for another dip. And I'm going to do some gardening while waiting for DS to come home. I'll be too sore to do anything tomorrow 😂

BodyCombat Thurs, gym n swim on Friday and today. 95

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 11/05/2025 16:46

Yoga Meltdown L2, didn’t have time to add on the dance one. DH has been ill and it’s been one of those days, and then I got a flat tyre on the way back from taking DD somewhere and had to spend an unplanned couple of hours getting it fixed.

Alittlefrustrated · 11/05/2025 22:12

48 x25m swim
84.
Yesterday didn't go to plan and I missed the ballet. Can't say I was gutted - I'd been dreading it all week.
I'm giving up on the 100 day challenge for now. Sick of having to restart 😕

Alittlefrustrated · 12/05/2025 20:35

1 hr pilates class
85.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 12/05/2025 20:59

Yoga Meltdown L2 again, as I rather phoned it in yesterday - there was too much else going on. No dance as DH was reading in the corner, it seemed mean to kick him out and I won’t inflict my hippopotamus prancing on anyone else. (Talking of hippopotami, I have put the half stone I lost last year back on and need to do something about it, curse it, so I’m contemplating a hangry few weeks. I hate being middle aged, I was the same weight with no effort for 20 years.)

39/200.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 12/05/2025 21:18

I hear you Professor, I put on half a stone when I was out of commission and boredom eating after my surgery and I don't see it going anywhere fast.

S&c today. It was hard but I upped my squat to 40kg so as long as the physio doesn't give out to me, I feel like I might get back to some of my previous weights sooner than I'd feared.

OP posts:
roonetta · 13/05/2025 11:37

Yep Professor I also have a stubborn stone which just won’t budge. I blame perimenopause, as since Christmas I have cut out all snacking, eating three healthy meals a day, breakfast: porridge and fruit, lunch: salad and a healthy dinner. Not a pound has dropped. I’m not really sure how much more I can cut out. It’s so disheartening 😔

Back is still sore but on the mend. Osteopath visit was required and she confirmed I had strained my sacroiliac joint. I did a LWC today, with no weights for the squats, and much lighter weights for everything else. I am hoping gentle exercises will aid recovery.

49 (I think)

BezMills · 13/05/2025 13:32

BodyCombat and gym, then swim and sauna later, on Sunday. Gym and swim, plus Boxercise yesterday, gym and swim today. 98

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 13/05/2025 20:12

Well, I’m sorry others are suffering from the accursed middle-aged spread, but also glad I’m not the only one. I suppose I must be perimenopausal - I’m over 50- but the weight gain is the only clue.

Day 2 of the diet (combination of intermittent fasting and low carb all the time, which works for me if I stick to it), and I reckon I should be able to get rid of the half stone before the end of June if I don’t get too many invitations to eat and drink nice things - I won’t sacrifice my social life for weight loss. (It’s really a stone for me too, roonetta, but I accept I won’t be the same weight now I was in my 20s and 30s.)

Glad your back is on the mend, roonetta, and well done on the 40kg, MotherForkin. DD weighs about that and I can still lift her but not for long!

Pilates and Darcey’s 1970s disco here. 40/200.

Alittlefrustrated · 13/05/2025 22:19

4.3 mile dog walk
86.

Alittlefrustrated · 14/05/2025 19:46

Usual sort of swim this morning, but I didn't count my lengths.
1 hour pilates class
87.
