RI30 L3D4 done. The hip is better but now my right knee is niggling! I think I must be getting old.

Those push- ups sound fierce, @roonetta

Everything crossed that DD goes back to school on 8th and I can stop being responsible for PE.

roonetta · 22/02/2021 14:21

One rest day turned into another due to not being assed decorating.

Epic day 10 Burpee HIIT workout. Exactly as it sounds, 1/2 hour of burpees. Man that was tough, my legs just didn't want to co-operate towards the end.

I know what you mean about getting old Professor (although I am sure you aren't as old as me Grin), everything seems to ache at one time or another. At least we are still doing it!!

I know what you mean about the niggles professor - since hitting a certain age I always some unexplained ache or pain to contend with GrinAnd yes to going back to school on 8th, I have completely exhausted my ability to provide adequate homeschooling and I haven't even attempted to engage the DC in any PE!

Day 66 yesterday was a rest day for me and this morning I did the cardio session for day 67! Just 3 more days until I move into week 11/12.

AlgonquinBay · 22/02/2021 14:29

Oh gosh roonetta half an hour of burpees sounds worse than Jillian's cardio.

Well done on the decorating though - I bought some fence paint this weekend with the vague idea that I may tackle the fence at the end of this week.

roonetta · 23/02/2021 14:35

I am so glad the kids are going back on the 8th! Not sure whether that also means they will want me back in the office more which will scupper my exercise time. Rude.

Ooh 3 more days Algonquin. Does that mean phase 3 is coming? The final leg, well done 👏

Epic day 11 dumbbell quads and abs. Hot and sweaty mess considering there was no jumping around.

RI30 L3D5 done. DD significantly less whingey now she knows the torture has an end in sight! I did tell her it could be worse, it could be half an hour of burpees.

I’ve bought Bodyshred and have decided to set myself the goal of getting it done, properly, before I turn 50 (just under two years to go, so with luck Covid will be largely over and I won’t have to do it in my present state of despondency and demotivation).

roonetta · 24/02/2021 14:07

You will smash Bodyshred long before you are 50 Professor! I turn 50 in May this year. Gulp! I think that makes us even more awesome.

Epic day 12 (shoulders) done. I liked this one, made me feel strong. I could only manage 2 handstands instead of 3, as the first one took me the whole 30 seconds to get up Grin

Day 68 done here - yes only two days before I move onto the next phase. Halo

Bodyshred is my next target after BR I think professor when are you thinking of starting?

roonetta OMG - handstands??!! Are you kidding? I haven't done one of those for at least 30 years (I'm 45 next birthday since we're sharing Cake)** and yes we're all awesome StarStarStar

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 25/02/2021 07:30

@AlgonquinBay, I hadn’t got as far as making a plan for Bodyshred. DD and I move on to RI30 L4 next week. My recollection is that L4 was hard on the knees so I may not do any more of it once DD is back in school, but I don’t think I want to start Bodyshred straight away (except maybe to try out the first couple of discs). This winter has been such a slog in every possible way I might go easy on myself for a while, and do a bit of Jillian (the short ones!) mixed up with yoga till the end of term, and then maybe tackle Bodyshred in May and June.

Happy birthday for next week! We are indeed all awesome (also about the same age as JM herself).

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 25/02/2021 07:32

Sorry, I can’t read - 45 next birthday, not next week!

roonetta · 25/02/2021 15:52

I find myself thinking if only I’d bothered to do this when I was in my twenties I would have smashed it and without all the aches and pains. Still better late than never.

I can’t remember L4 Professor but I do know that I preferred it over L3.

Epic day 13 (glutes and hamstrings) done. Not sure how much I got out of the first part as she used a band and I only have a cable which is really uncomfortable to tie around your legs. Might invest in a band. My ass will be killing me tomorrow Grin

RI30 L3D6 done - pretty well except that my knee is still niggling, so I had to modify the jumping lunges. DD whinged like crazy about getting out of bed, and then sulked when I pointed out that she wasn’t bending her knees in one of the squats, but was otherwise OK. One more week till liberation!

kirinm · 26/02/2021 10:57

Can anyone tell me what BR stands for?

I've just restarted 30 day shred. I'm combining it with C25K although the DOMS from lunges haven't helped my running.

My fitness levels have dropped so much I'm even struggling with Level 1.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 26/02/2021 12:19

BR is Body Revolution, @kirinm.

L1 of the Shred is hard! Two sets of full push-ups, apart from anything else.

kirinm · 26/02/2021 12:29

Yep its the push ups and then lateral raises (think that is what they're called) that absolutely kill me.

Ah body revolution, not sure i've seen that one. Will check it out. Thanks!

sobercurious2021 · 27/02/2021 07:24

I'm still doing BR. Feel a lot fitter. Which programme do you recommend next?
Just discovered this:

Still crushing it with Jillian 2021
roonetta · 27/02/2021 07:33

Hi sober ☺️ - how are you finding BR? If you are enjoying the format then Bodyshred is the same, but most definitely a step up. I have done them both and have to say I enjoyed BR more, as there are some moves in Bodyshred I will never be able to do so found myself modifying quite a lot of the moves, especially in the later workouts. That’s just me and my old bones though 😄

kirinm · 27/02/2021 14:30

Another workout today. I'm aiming for 4 a week due to also running too.

roonetta · 27/02/2021 15:15

Hope your knee is okay Professor and doesn’t stop your progress.

Hi @kirinm 😊. I know 30DS is supposed to be one of Jillian’s workouts people start out with, but it’s bloody tough.

Rest day yesterday. Epic day 14 full body workout today. It was very reluctant, I am feeling really tired at the moment. Supposed to be another rest day tomorrow thankfully.

I confess I've had to give up on BR...it was just becoming too hard on my knees to do it 6 days a week along with running 3 times a week and something had to give. I really wanted to complete my C25k so I'm still doing that (nearly done) and still doing Jillian but doing NMTZ twice a week instead along with yoga every day. I was waking up in the night because my body was aching so much so feel much better this week, the aches are those pleasant ones you get when you know you've exercised rather than agony!

Hi loving BR but only do it 3 times a week. Trying to walk 10000 steps a day on the week.
ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 01/03/2021 08:46

RI30 L4D1 done. I was right that it’s hard on the knees. DD in champion whinge mode this morning, it took her the whole of the first circuit to reconcile herself to one more week.

Days exercised 24.

roonetta · 01/03/2021 13:48

Lol your post made me laugh Professor - don't you just love them? Grin

Epic day 15 (Tabata HIIT) done. Lots of modifying - I can barely do a rock and roll squat (especially without my dumbbells) without having to go straight into a push up! It would have been a treat for the eyes if anyone was watching.
