After doing this successfully now for 2 years I thought I'd start the 2020 thread

All welcome

43.75 miles of walking done this week. Little one has dropped his nap completely now, but there were a few very long walks in a mad bid to get him to sleep!

Lots of housework over the weekend and the weather has (temporarily, I think) turned rainy so having a little break from walking. I must try to get on the rower later on. Pilates this morning at least but that doesn't cover much distance.Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 19/05/2020 19:20

It brightened up and we got in an 8km local walk after all.Smile

2k with DS this morning and 5k myself this afternoon.

I very proud of DS he has now done a half marathon since he stared running at the beginning of May.
Among his challenges he has DCD, developmental coordination delay and poor muscle tone but he has stuck with it. When rules allow I am going to try to find him a special needs athletics coach to work on the way he runs.

Doing a regular 6m morning ride atm: need to either lengthen it or add in a second. 438/1582

ErrolTheDragon · 23/05/2020 17:13

That really is something to celebrate, Inniu ! Smile

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/05/2020 17:49

@innui that's amazing. I did week 1 run 3 with ds today, which makes his total 10km. I'm really proud of him because he is hating it, he drags his feet, he stares at the floor while running, and he moans constantly. And yet I think he's actually starting to enjoy it.

I have done a virtual run this month and they do a kids 1km one, which I'm hoping he will enter with me next month. Not sure if your ds would be interested but the medal was a good solid 'real' medal and I think my ds (he's 8) would really like one.

DSs half marathon was for a virtual charity run and it has a real medal. He is doing a 10K one too that has a medal in the shape of a corona virus. He has agreed to up his runs to 2.5 k so he can have the 10K finished by the end of the month too.
They are runs where you can split the distance over the month.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/05/2020 20:06

Yes I'd seen those half ones, I'm doing a roy castle one in June (it's a 10k). It's nice fit a bit of motivation and hopefully ds will be inspired by the Medal. Well done to your ds StarStarStar

The virtual runs sound like a great idea foe the kids - but obviously takes positive input from parents so well done you two as well as your DC!

We went to a nature reserve this afternoon, which was nice - did a couple of meandering rounds, 8.7km

42.6 miles of walking done this week! All walking and not on the treadmill, I've been going out a couple of times a day as it keeps my little one occupied.
