After doing this successfully now for 2 years I thought I'd start the 2020 thread

All welcome

@TriSkiRun99 thanks, although I think it was the benefit of a Strava/runkeeper/Fitbit fail. I'm having real gps issues right now and think it's my phone dying a death.

Today, 5.5km with Dh

Lots of gardening yesterday in the sunshine instead of going out, today just an evening walk 4.3 km when it brightened up.

32.6 miles of walking done this week. No treadmill, just some long walks with my little one!

554.08/1445.92

Need to do 43 miles a week if I want to hit my goal....

Accidentalaccountant · 12/05/2020 06:54

Fell of thread but have been keeping track. 890 miles done. 1130 to go

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2020 08:41

Your goal is way higher than most of us, Amy - 2000 miles rather than 1 or 2 thousand km!ShockGrin

MadameF · 12/05/2020 09:15

Bear have you done a 10k race? With your time in training you should be able to do around 45mns in an actual race.
2315km running this year now,no goal just want to stay injury free and get out on the bike a little now we are unlocked. No races as all have been cancelled up to September at least. Not sure swimming will be an option this year 😢

Inniu · 12/05/2020 10:22

Took DS out for 2k yesterday and did 10K myself this morning.

@MadameF I did one in October last year, 50 minutes ish but I'm always chasing that sub-50. I did a half m in 1.57 last year too, so would have liked to match/ beat that this year but sadly no races now. I'm injury plagued though and training for that 10k gave me a hamstring injury that only really recovered in feb. If I run too far or too fast I can feel it grumbling again and it has really put me off training too hard.

5.5 today.

I can’t run atm, spd has started playing up, Joe Wicks contributed I think, am now trying to modify my moves while still encouraging my JW fan kid to keep going.
Cycling and rowing are both fine, done 72 miles since I last posted:

Joe Wicks provoked my dodgy ankle, too much jumping. The real killer was stubbing my toe on a box of metal stuff destined for the dump. Its still black, blue red and swollen from Saturday. Don't think it's broken, but I was a drama queen! Hmm Might try a short walk tomorrow as otherwise I'll miss this month's Strava target.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2020 20:31

Oh dear. Thanks I guess there's a plus side to having reached the age of Pilates and walking.

We went to the big river estuary tonight, lovely evening sun after the morning rain, 8 km

SpringFan · 12/05/2020 22:57

Oh, I'm well over 60. I should know better. Just thought it looked fun and it was! I have now settled for the low impact easy on the knee programme or a seniors one on a bad day.
Have you found any decent Pilates on line? I know I am stiffening up. Some of the ones I have seen seem to be more gentle aerobics that Pilates

My instructor started zoom classes a few weeks ago. I could PM you her contact details if you're interested though obviously the classes aren't free.

Got up early this morning and drove round to the other side of the local hills to a place we knew there was a lay-by ... the valley was almost completely deserted until we were nearly back at the car again by which time a few more people had arrived. More of a hill walk than we've been able to have for the last couple of months, my calves and tendons noticed the difference!

11km, 731.9

SpringFan · 13/05/2020 22:50

@ErrolTheDragon . Yes please can you PM the contact details of your zoom classes. Might need to master zoom first thanks.

2k with DS and 5k by myself.

My 17 year old had “borrowed” my foam roller and I could really feel the difference not having used it for a while made. I have now retrieved it.
