This is a thread to talk about all things running and support each other through the highs and lows. All are welcome, from absolute beginners to experts!
We keep a running total of everyone's miles for the month, so feel free to add yours on. Current total for March is:

Yes! I did it! 1:08 - so so proud and knee held up. Such a great atmosphere - really glad I pushed myself.

Woo-hoo! Well done Eyewhisker, great running. So glad your knee behaved.
Long run this morning after waving dd2 off on a school trip. Nice cool cloudy day, really enjoyed it.

My first full Sprint Tri done today Smile the run part was 5k straight after a hilly 21k bike and my legs were mush it’s a horrid feeling but I kept plodding on and run through the ugh feeling.
joebrown hope you find some relief I’ve suffered bouts of horrid nerve disc related back pain the longest was 18mths and it really made me feel miserable. I stretch a lot and swim/cycle to cross train but I do love the running buzz. Hope you find a balance that works for you.

Well done triski - that’s amazing. Don’t know how you can do 5k after such a long bike ride!

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 19/05/2019 16:14

Hats off. Tri sounds so hard. The transitions would be me downfall!
Just home from my half. Ran without stopping. 2 hours 28. 8 minutes faster than last year so I’m thrilled with that. Woo hoo!!
Now not to rest for 6 months like last time I did it...actually enjoyed it today Grin

TriSkiRun99 · 19/05/2019 16:34

A fab day all round today for people by the sound of it! Well done Eyewhisker, Tri and Whoops! :)

I'm trying to decide my next race, I like 10k as a distance.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 19/05/2019 20:08

I’m doing a 10km in July. I’d like to be around an hour but am not getting any younger. I was so chuffed today to not stop.
Well done all of us

Kedgeree · 19/05/2019 20:16

Fab day for me too! First time over the half marathon distance today (training, not a race) and I hit my target time for my race in July. Feeling very chuffed!

Hey all,
Bit of a hiatus for me. Since my 2 Trail Half day the beginning of the year I've had an Achilles injury which has limited my running as well as what seems like a constant stream of illnesses.
But I've got races entered so on Friday I loaded the family into the car and headed to the Peak District. We camped for the weekend and I started a 20 mile race with low expectations as I hadn't been over 10 miles for months. It was a brilliant event that was really well organised and I ran my 2nd fastest 20 miles. With 780 metres of climbing it was tough but the views were tremendous.
So roll on mid June for a Trail marathon in Snowdonia.

Well done Alex3101 that’s a brilliant achievement especially after injury.

CarrotPuff · 20/05/2019 21:25

Well done racers, brilliant results all around!

Went for a quick 5 mile run. Never in a million years I would have said that sentence!

Hello everyone. Welcome to all new folks. Well done to everyone on all the achievements - amazing and inspiring. Hope all those injured and struggling are able to get back out there soon.
My running has definitely fallen off recently. I had a lot happening mentally/emotionally and whilst in the thick of it I kept I the running but now I feel absolutely physically and mentally exhausted. I have however been doing core work, lots of dog walks and gardening.
I am going to get back out there today. I WILL GO FOR A RUN!! Grin

Really sore today but loving reading this thread. Jogged s mike last night chasing my son on a bike and walked three but after the half on Sunday I think my legs are sulking

IRun4Me · 21/05/2019 18:10

I went!!
Took the dog. They’ve made a new path to the back of some woods I go past on one of my loops, so now I can go that way instead and incorporate more off road.
Was a really nice run and felt good to be out there

Club session this evening. Interval training on a 500 grass hill loop.
A warm up run there and back so that's 5.5 miles tonight.

Only 2 for me tonight. Severe tummy pain (needing poo- all friends here right?) so dashed home and now got tummy ache. Too soon after my half? Felt good until tummy started cramping
