I'm back!
I have been reading, but didn't want to bring the thread down. God, this runnng malarkey is a complicated business...
After my disastrous run on Sunday, I was going to do a 10K on Monday but only ended up doing 5k and crying all the way home.
I gave my head a wobble. This is meant to be 'enjoyable' or at least not turning me into a self loathing, snivelling mess. I got back out there.
Today was my last chance at a long run before the GNR and, although I wanted to try for 20k, I managed another 18k run. And I'm taking that as a win! I can visualise what 3k extra will be and am fairly positive I'll manage on the day. So, 10 September I'll be running a half marathon for the very first time 😳😬🥇
mines: when I did my first 10K race, I ran 9.76k as I wanted to run the full 10K for the first time for the race. I think it's personal preference, just like running shoes, clothes, AM or PM runs. What would make you feel good?
mammy: a rest is as good as a run! It's not like you don't have a run planned!
Oh, and asked my husband if men have the same issues as women when running. Apparently, you can feel ok, but 1k in be desperate for the loo and then, when you stop for a pee (easier for him than us), nothing much comes out. But no 'dribble-age'.
And on that note, I've sent off for a free sample of the Always equivalent of 'Tena Lady'. Filling in the form was slightly less embarrassing that having the Tesco man deliver!
