Fish oil is meant to be good for your brain too so it's the one supplement I bother with

Did my "run" - quite a bit of walking because I used the tabata app on the way out.

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 22/04/2015 13:32

d3l1 done....definitley it does get easier, I don't have that feeling like I can't sit or stand this time around, first few days after I started the shread first time I would come down the stairs walking like a crab Grin....

Errol how'd your run go, did you venture out??? I did a 2mile jog lastnight and it was lovely, sometimes it's nice to be by ones self, no pressure to keep up!

Trenzalor · 22/04/2015 21:28

Cor blimey. Day three of week two RI30. I ache! Yesterday was okay, today I can feel the ouch in my legs and I could feel the muscles inside my arms twitch for ages.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/04/2015 22:00

MrsS - yes, it was such a lovely morning again that I couldn't stay inside. The canal towpath has dried out nicely and there were two large duckling families along the way. I did have an odd moment when I heard a duck quacking and looked around in vain... I set a 4 minute timer between tabata intervals and had forgotten that I'd set the tone to duck.Grin

ImogenQuy · 23/04/2015 07:07

Body Rev Phase 1 week 4 workout 3. I've nearly finished Phase 1! Must have a look at the first two discs in Phase 2 over the weekend, as light relief between attacking my job application.

I so didn't want to get out of bed this morning. The alarm went off and my eyes were glued shut. It's hard knowing where to strike the balance between knowing I need to exercise and I'll feel better if I do, and desperately wanting more sleep. I'm not a morning person and never will be.

Grin at quacking phone, Errol. We have no ducklings, and indeed no water, anywhere in walking distance, alas.

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 23/04/2015 15:14

Well no Jillian at lunch time for me today, it's such a corker of day, I really couldn't justify staying in the house, so put dd into her buggy and we did a lovely 5 mile jaunt! Didnt intend to go as far but it was so nice I didn't want to go home!!! Dd slept the whole time! So will do it later tonight as have no other exercise planned...

Grin at your duck tone Errol your run sounded good, and at least the duck made it interesting too quack quack Grin

Hope everyone is enjoying (and having) the glorious sunshine....

ErrolTheDragon · 23/04/2015 16:12

KB&T L2 .... I'd forgotten about 'flying pigeon' in the warmup FGS. A mix of good, bad and downright ugly! Grin

blodynmawr · 23/04/2015 21:18

Imogen I am a bit creaky even with the fish oil - I blame all the step aerobics during my 20s!
This M&S one is great if you're in the market for a new sports bra, but go down a cup size ensure good support. I don't have any 20% off codes at the moment but there may be some around over the next Bank Hol weekend?
I wasn't very motivated this morning either Blush and only did the first 4 circuits of NMTZ, but I did use the heavier weights on the 2nd and 3rd circuits Smile.

ImogenQuy · 24/04/2015 07:11

Body Rev Phase 1 week 4 workout 4, last time! That's me done on Phase 1. Phase 2 starts on Monday. Cat sat on my legs during the hollow man today, which was even worse than having her on my chest. I fear after that I skipped the cardio interval (hate fast feet anyway). And I'm feeling it's quite an achievement to have done anything at all this morning: I was out late at a work do.

Thanks for the bra recommendation, blodynmawr. I'm a back size 28, sadly, so it doesn't look as though they do it in my size. I'll have a look on Amazon - you can often get Shock Absorber bras in unfashionable colours for not very much money. I have a truly hideous blue and yellow one that I got for £12.

Weather is lovely here, happily - I'm taking my team at work on an awayday trip up the river on a boat, and I was convinced it was going to rain all day.

HowYaLikeThemApples · 24/04/2015 10:42

KB&T L1 done. Now I'm at my target weight I have adjusted my Myfitnesspal settings to increase my calories to a maintenance level, instead of diet-calories all week and then having my big blowout on a Sunday afternoon. I found I was eating ANYTHING bad I could lay my hands on as I knew I only had Sunday afternoon to eat it and was then putting on nearly 2lbs overnight Shock With the extra daily calories I can have a treat each day and not feel like I'm deprived.

My Dad has given me his elliptical trainer so I'm sending DH off to collect it on Sunday. My plan is to keep up with the DVD's in the morning now and see if I can manage the elliptical a couple of times a week in the evening.

blodynmawr · 24/04/2015 11:25

Thanks for the bra rec Imogen. Smile I like Shock Absorbers too so will check out Amazon.
I don't leave the house when wearing them so not bothered in the least what colours they are for £12. I usually buy black Shock Absorbers from Next or Figleaves but they never seem to be discounted so a bit Angry at always having to shell out the £28-30 RRP!
Well done Howya on getting to target Smile.
No workout for me today but lots of walking instead. BFBM tomorrow.

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 24/04/2015 13:25

L1D4 done!

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2015 15:04

NMTZ for me today. I did the deadlifts and hammer curls twice - first time just the deadlift with 10kg weights, second time just the hammer curls with 6kgs (not quite the full set!). I don't use those sizes for anything else though.

Imogen - seriously impressed by you doing hollow man with a cat on your legs! Thank goodness my dog doesn't try to participate - though I suppose I could try him as a barbell. Grin

mildlyacquiescent · 24/04/2015 16:37

Did Hard Body at attempted maximum intensity and all the way through this morning (to see if it was just a bad initial impression). HATED it, the only Jillian workout I can say that of. There must be over 60 pushups in it, no joke! And there's a move when you do a sit up then roll over and do a superman. And another where you do three pushups travelling to the side and then jump up and go left and right before dropping and travelling again. I love both those moves but it requires more floor space than I have to do that. The whole thing just felt clunky and ineffective. Maybe if I could do pushups properly, I'd have found it more useful. The stupid DJ was the least of my worries! But I did like maybe 1/4 of the moves.

Felt so disappointed after half-arsing my way through a confusing and crap workout than I did BFBM afterwards. Ahhhhhh, there's my post-exercise glow. Grin

Has anyone seen Jillian's new "Killer Body" DVD- three brand new workouts? They sound haaard. I'd love to see them, but probably have spent enough cash on exercise stuff for this year already.

That said, I have been eyeing up this non-Jillian workout called Barre-amped for a while- has anyone tried this stuff?

drspouse · 24/04/2015 18:00

L3 D7 - still not doing even all Anita moves for everything. I can do a few Rocky sit ups which is more than none, and I don't rest as long on the scissor moves. And weights are going up for some moves, plus I can actually do some planks on my feet.
I'm going to promise myself I'll try a class when I get to D10!

blodynmawr · 24/04/2015 19:41

Mildly Agree that Hard Body isn't as good as BFBM and thanks for flagging new JM DVDs.... Like you though I can't justify the spend at the moment.... As I said up thread I want a kettlebell first so I can do Shred it with Weights....Perhaps will review in the autumn if I get bored with the existing JM DVDs over the summer!

mummyrunnerbean · 24/04/2015 23:41

Just done shred day 4 (though should have been day 5 - missed yesterday Blush) and as promised the pain has abated somewhat! I cannot for the life of me do those bicycle crunch things at the end though- I just topple onto my side Confused. What am I missing?

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2015 23:59

mummy - not sure how you'd topple doing bicycle crunch - you are moving the opposite arm and leg towards each other, aren't you? Try to do some slowly to work out where your weight is shifting to, it shouldn't be going sideways to topple you. Glad the pain is abating though (I'd have hated to have been a liar on that!)

mildlyacquiescent · 25/04/2015 06:48

Blodynmawr, I also want a kettlebell. They scare me a bit though... irrationally.

Mummy, are you lifting your legs too high? They should be a maximum of a foor off the ground to get the benefit of the exercise.

MsRaspberryJam · 25/04/2015 08:12

I've had a week off with a bad cold. Work has also been stressful. I'm still not feeling tip top but I'm going to try a work out this morning. I'm thinking of doing Yoga Inferno with a break every ten minutes.

I'll let you all know how I get on.

plum100 · 25/04/2015 08:18

Hi everyone i bought the 30 day shred dvd a few weeks ago and havent started it yet. Can i ask all of you who began in back at the start of April - has it made a difference? Think you are all so committed well done .

MsRaspberryJam · 25/04/2015 09:33

Hi Plum. Welcome to the club. I have done the Shred a few times and I feel a difference within about a week. I don't see much of a difference on the scales though. It's more about feeling fitter and being more toned.

I finished level two of Yoga Inferno with about five breaks. Felt alternately sketchy and good, but glad I got it done. Hate being ill!

Lambzig · 25/04/2015 18:18

Keep forgetting to post. Body Rev, week 2, workout 1 second time. Very scared that I will be moving on soon.

mildlyacquiescent · 25/04/2015 18:33

:)zlambzig, that's great.! I have the Body Rev dvds but only generally use thecardio sections. I'd love to heard your results from completing the programme in a methodical way. And Just heard she's done a new seriesBodyShred for when BodyRev ends, so the pain fun will never stop. Grin

HowYaLikeThemApples · 25/04/2015 18:39

I almost didn't exercise today as my get-up-and-go got up and went. Gave myself a talking to and did NMTZ. I managed some heavier weights for some of the exercises and feel exhausted now. Glad I did it though.

Just wondering how the rest of you motivate yourselves on days where you're just not feelin' the love for exercise? My rationale today was the less exercise I do the more likely I am to put on weight on the amount of calories I'm eating (1550 - I'm only 5ft 2 so not many for maintenance unless I add in exercise which ups it to a level where I can then add in a few treats).

How about everyone else, I'd be really interested to hear.
