Effective bastard, I'll take that. Thanks Imogen.

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 20/04/2015 13:29

Thanks Erroll for the welcome back....Day 1 Level 1 done 30DS. I found it easy to be honest, I have been keeping up some running so maybe my fitness isn't as bad as I thought, I'll stick with it for the rest of this week and I might do 10 days of level 2 and then onto level 3. It is good to be back at it again though, I have missed Jillian!

AtAt sorry about your loss, be kind to yourself and take it gently, well done for getting back to it...

howya Well done on your weight loss, that's fantastic, you've inspired me today, which is what I need! I have 2 of the DVDs you mentioned, the banish fat one and trouble zones one, glad to hear you recommend them...I think I'll be trying them out after the shread is finished....shread with weights sounds good, I must browse on Amazon see if I can add to my collection! Grin

drspouce well done on keeping at it with level 3 Wink

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 20/04/2015 13:35

sorry I passed by your post mummy, welcome aboard, I'm back on level 1 again for the second time, and I felt exactly the same first time around, you'll be amazed how your fitness comes up with it though, by level 3 you'll be flying it Smile great to have another shreader for company Wink

ErrolTheDragon · 20/04/2015 15:33

This morning was so lovely that DH and I took the dog out for a walk instead of the usual routine. We did a decent hillwalk on saturday, and some birdwatchy walking yesterday, so I'm not being too slovenly. Sort of feel like my arms need something so I might try to do a bit of free weights later.

Before I started this exercise lark, I'd started to feel really quite stiff after walks - even by the time we'd driven home I'd have felt stiff getting out of the car. Whereas now I don't, I get home and carry on doing gardening or cooking or whatever, no problems! Grin

mildlyacquiescent · 20/04/2015 16:59

Sorry about your mc, AtAt. Be kind to yourself. Flowers

Congrats on all the exercise, ladies! Glad some of you agree with me about the silly DJ on HardBody. Tbh I could live with him if the workout weren't just a little bit too chereographed for my liking. I can't do lunge this and dangle that and balance on that and flick that all at the same time. Two moves at the same time stretches me to the utmost!

This past week, I've been hammering NMTZ, BFBM and Cardio 2 and 3 from Body Rev, with a bit of 6wk6pk thrown in this morning. I've also cheating on Jillian with a bit of Leandro from Brazil Butt Lift today. I LOVE Cardio Axe (his funny samba dancey workout) and Bum Bum Rapido as well as his more serious strength ones. Does anyone else here know and like that cheeeeeesy DVD set? :)

jemma2609 · 20/04/2015 22:25

A week off while kitchen is refitted and we have no shred space! I have introduced SIL to 30DS and she's loving it. Has just bought BFBM and NMTZ.

ImogenQuy · 21/04/2015 07:06

Body Rev Phase 1 week 4 workout 4 done. I thought the hollow man was bad before but it's even worse with the cat sitting on my chest! Tomorrow is my last go through cardio 1 - I'm tempted to hurl it out of the window once I've finished, but must resist the temptation as Body Rev obviously has resale value.

The three pounds I'd put on last week have vanished again. I have no idea what's going on but I'm not complaining.

Lambzig · 21/04/2015 10:54

Body Rev Phase 1, Week 2, workout 1 done.

A fail from me over the weekend because I had to put my course portfolio together ready for submission this weekend. It took forever, but it's largely done now. I promised not to beat myself up and give up if I only did three times, so I am not.

Trenzalor · 21/04/2015 12:37

Okay, day two of Ripped week two wasn't as complicated. It's toughest in the middle section I think

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 21/04/2015 13:22

D2L1 done again!....it's funny the things I really didn't like first time around are actually ok this time! Yeah Erroll I find exercise definitley gives me more energy and makes me more flexible (if that doesn't sound too rude!!)
I'm sitting outside eating lunch at the mo and the weather is just glorious....keep up the good work fellow exercisers!

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2015 16:40

Free weights and then another walk today, for various reasons - but it was a perfect walk in flower-bestrewn woodland along a little river.

drspouse · 21/04/2015 19:36

Tried Yoga Meltdown on Sat, not completely sure it's for me, there are a lot of back bends. I do remember that was the yoga problem in general. Is there anything similar but more Pilates based?
And L3 D6 today. Still working off YouTube. I ordered the DVD from eBay but the seller has been suspended! No idea what happens now!

mildlyacquiescent · 21/04/2015 20:08

Yay gemma. Lovely to convert folks, isn't it? Grin

@ Errol, walk sounds divine.

Did kb&t this am. After four years with Jillian, level two STILL hurts. Smile

jemma2609 · 21/04/2015 20:30

Oh no mildly I've only done kb&t level 2 once and was hoping it got better....Confused

mummyrunnerbean · 21/04/2015 20:43

So I've done Shred day 2, and I can't stand up or sit down. I mean I'm fine standing, and sitting, but transitioning from one to the other is excruciatingly painful. Is this normal?! Also, walking down the stairs is torture... That said, I actually managed to do almost the entire workout, bar occasional halts to inhale water and am feeling very proud Smile. Have felt oddly energetic all day since and have just made brownies after putting the baby to bed absolutely not counterproductive at all.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2015 20:59

mummy - well done, and yes, that is absolutely normal! If you were to search previous monthly threads, you would find that I quite often say 'for the first 3-4 days you will wish you lived in a bungalow'. But then that it will get better after that. Hang in for another couple of days and you'll be over the worse and it will never be that bad again.

Am I lying, folks?

KB&T L2...that's what I should have been doing this week. Maybe tomorrow though if the weather is still good may try my first little run of the year instead.

mildlyacquiescent · 21/04/2015 21:05

Jemma, I hardly ever do it. Maybe 5-6 times in four years? I am sure you'll have it down pat in no time. :) (Excuses: I don't really have the right height step for the chair exercises, which doesn't help. But I can't help admitting that I love Level 1 and even Level 3 quite a bit, but can't warm to Level 2. Even Anita isn't doing the dancing crab thing correctly! It's just a sod of a workout.)

Errol is completely right. You'll never be that stiff and sore again. Hang in there, mummy!

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2015 21:10

Conveniently I find that the right height for the chair exercises is, well, a chair. Grin. I put it with its back against the sofa so it's really solid.

mildlyacquiescent · 21/04/2015 21:16

Errol. Grin Our dining chairs are too rickety to stand on. I used the edge of the divan today but it was a bit too low. Or maybe I'm just making excuses... it's probably the only workout of Jillian's I don't like (apart from maybe Rippedin30 Level 4, which I still don't feel I can do properly, either).

Maybe I'll just have to buy a chair just to do KB&T2 on? The tip to wedge it against the wall is a good one. :)

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2015 21:21

I use a kitchen chair. Being short, I have to do step-ups on them regularly just to get at my top-cupboards, so I had to get ones which are solid enough for that anyway

blodynmawr · 21/04/2015 22:15

Errol agree that it's nice not to be stiff anymoreSmile. I think the 1000mg per day of fish oil I take helps me too!
Good progress still alternating between BFBM and heavier weights on NMTZ. Arms starting to looking good.
Howya you may have convinced me to purchase a Davina dumbbell and dust off Shred It with Weights Smile for a bit of variety!
Welcome all new folks too!

blodynmawr · 21/04/2015 22:19

Duh, I meant buy a kettlebell not dumbbell.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2015 22:20

I take fish oil too - my joints are holding up well for a >50 yo but if a knee does give a creak that reminds me to take a capsule!

43percentburnt · 21/04/2015 23:02

Hiya can I join too. Am on day 2 of 30ds. I too wish I lived in a bungalow. Am contemplating not taking the stairs at work tomorrow! Mummyrunnerbean we started on the same day.

ImogenQuy · 22/04/2015 07:03

Hmm, maybe I should start taking fish oil too. I'm conscious of being creakier than I was 10 years ago, even with all the JM. (I'm in my 40s.)

Welcome 43percent and mummyrunnerbean, and well done for getting started! You'll feel better by the end of the week, and it never gets as bad as this again.

Body Rev Phase 1 week 4 cardio done. That's the last time I have to do that dreadful cardio workout. So dreary, and doing the running man has made me realise that all my sports bras are getting old and knackered (like their owner) and not really doing their job any more.
