I thought I had better start one seeing as no one else has.
Please add your updates, whether it is a New Year's Resolution to get fit or you have been here for the long haul!

I have just had two days off due to my lower abs being hugely painful, thing I must have pulled something the other day.
Hopefully back on it after the child goes to sleep.

Hope all is going well for the rest of you and you are all eager to go again when the kids are back at school. My poor DS1 starts back today!

L1D3 done. A bit sore this morning.

msmoss · 08/01/2014 10:24

D9 L2 complete.

Also measure up/ weigh-in day today

I've lost 2lbs and my measurements are now:

Waist - 84 cm (2 cm off)
Hips - 92 cm (3 cm off)
Under Chest - 83 cm (1 cm off)

I know I should be pleased with this but I'm feeling fat, bloated and tired today which has taken the shine off a little and making me think what's the point, will try and plough on through though.

spinningirl10 · 08/01/2014 10:32

Thanks errol.....haha standing on one leg, not sure about my balance!! Think I'll crack on with 30day shred from Friday or tomorrow if it arrives in time for workout! Maybe do other one after I've cracked thatGrin

spinningirl10 · 08/01/2014 10:33

Msmoss....those cms lost are great!! How long between measurements?

monkeychambers · 08/01/2014 10:40

Can I join the thread now? it means I will make sure I start L1 tomorrow rather than keep putting it off, was supposed to start on the 1st...hmm

Well done to those already doing it.

Msmoss, it was you posting your cms lost which has inspired me to get back to it. Thank you.

msmoss · 08/01/2014 11:14

Ah thanks, there was one week between measurements, I didn't measure when I started as I was still allowed to eat crisps, chocolate and cake up until 1st Jan.

I'm not going to post it, but inspired by the youtube pictures I came across when I was looking for L2 on-line I have also taken a 'before' picture of my stomach area, will take another before I start L3 and then at the end (and just hope that no one starts nosing through my phone Grin), will let you know if this adds to the motivation at all.

worldgonecrazy · 08/01/2014 11:55

msmoss you are doing great - that's an inch of your hips already!

I have also taken "before" photos from various angles. I can't believe how bad my thighs look - they look like the worst ever "before" pictures that you see in magazine adverts for cellulite treatment. I was truly shocked as they don't look that bad to my naked eye, but the camera never lies!

RalphLaurenLover · 08/01/2014 12:06

L1D2 - Done!

Thanks tanukiton

JRmumma · 08/01/2014 12:38

msmoss that's an amazing achievement in 9 days! You have now inspired me to get back to the shred after my rest day. I must admit i was feeling a bit lazy till i read that!

officelady · 08/01/2014 13:15

I was up at 5.30 again today and Level 1 day 7 completed. I went back up to 2kg weights because I wasn't in any pain when I woke up. I realise this sounds mental but I have found in the past that the harder I push myself, the quicker I get results. And if I'm making the effort to get my lazy arse out of bed at a crazy time, I want to maximise the benefit Grin
I'm loving all the success stories on here!

lobsterkiller · 08/01/2014 14:54

L1 day 6...sweating like a pig and really putting my all into it but not sure on results.

Well done to everyone so far.

spinningirl10 · 08/01/2014 17:02

Msmoss....very impressive for 1 week!! The photos are a great idea, I'm going to do that but won't be showing anyone elseGrin

Mumtoh · 08/01/2014 20:04

Well I have had an unplanned rest day today, finished work an hour later than planned so that has thrown me out. Not exercising just before bed as it will hype me up too much, so the plan is, bed early then up early tomorrow to carry on with L2.

msmoss those measurements are awesome, well done! Are you eating more healthily too? I took some measurements on day 1, and some pics which I emailed to myself then deleted from camera roll (I would be bound to forget and then be horribly embarrassed scrolling through pics to show someone my snaps from Xmas day!). Not going to re-do measurements until the end. When I looked in the mirror today (soft lighting) I swear I saw the start of indentations. And my underlying muscles definitely feel tighter, it's just the winter duvet cover I need to get rid of!

Does anyone know if you can tighten up the excess skin on your tummy? I lost a stone and a half just over a year ago and have been left with wrinkly skin, not attractive!

LakeFlyPie · 08/01/2014 20:09

L1 D6 (D5 was a rest/swim day so assume this D6 although only 5th day of actually exercising) done.
Actually felt more manageable (was going to say easier but it wasn't easy!) think my muscles are starting to realise what they're supposed to be doing now.

PeppermintCream · 08/01/2014 20:14

D7L1 - done.

Well done everyone.

WhereAreMyShoes · 08/01/2014 21:05

D10LV2
I am so pleased with progress so far. I've done my measurements and these are the most noticeable
Waist 83cm (-2cm)
Stomach 102cm (-7cm)
Hips 108 cm (-3cm)

I've also done a little collage of photos of before and so far. I'm still flabby but so much smaller round the middle and my arm muscles are showing. I wasn't going to compare until the end but it's really boosted my morale.

Mumtoh I've been using stretch mark oil on my stomach (two babies in three years) and hoping it'll help somewhat. I imagine the most difference is going to be made by solidifying the underneath.

bountyicecream · 08/01/2014 22:11

L1D2 completed. Those cm losses are great. I've got a big works do in 10d and was kind of thinking there's no chance of change by then. But now I'm thinking I probably will look better by then. That's a great motivator. Will be back tomorrow I promise.

JRmumma · 08/01/2014 23:20

Was meant to shred today after a rest day yesterday but did a body pump class at the gym instead. Back to the shred tomorrow though. Not gonna count today as a shred day. I know its gonna take longer if i miss days to do other exercise but that can only be a good thing right?

ErrolTheDragon · 08/01/2014 23:50

JR, variety is the spice of life - that sounds great to me. I usually do something active on at least on of my weekend days off from shred.

Impressed by all those lost cms!

Mumtoh · 09/01/2014 07:22

Just done my second day of L2, can't believe I dragged my ass out of bed but I did! It was the thought of fessing up to you lot that I hadn't done it....

My right knee is very sore though, wore a support which helped but I woke in the night it was so painful. Think I might substitute some of the lunges.

worldgonecrazy · 09/01/2014 07:33

It was hard to get motivated this morning at 5am. Then I thought about having to post my failure publicly on this thread and I dragged myself out of bed, so thank you fellow shredders for keeping the mojo going.

msmoss · 09/01/2014 08:31

Posting here is definitely helping me keep on going too, thanks everyone!

wherearemyshoes 7cm off your waist!! That's incredible you're clearly not phoning anything in Smile

D10 L2 done. Have swapped out the plank jacks for jumping jacks as my shoulders just weren't up to it this morning but I reckon better to spend the time doing something I can do rather than something I can't!

mumtoh I am eating more healthily not a diet but just cutting out crap and making less stodgy choices for meals.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/01/2014 09:00

L1D4 done. Much less achy this morning, glad I wasn't lying about the feeling better after 3-4 days! Grin I was actually expecting to feel worse in the abs and upper body because in the cause of trying to be able to do full push-ups I was randomly doing sets of inclined push-ups on whatever seemed an appropriate height, and a bit of plank-holding during the day. (Good thing I work from home!)

lobsterkiller · 09/01/2014 09:30

dya 7 level1 done. Its not hurting so much now. Can do way more girly press ups now...I am going to stick to this level for a bit longer than 10 days.

Well done everybody.

WillColbert · 09/01/2014 09:42

Missed yesterday as I had a 4 mile walk but Ri30 L1D3 done today. I'm finding it quite hard and Jillian's approach is a bit more 'bootcamp' than she is on 30 day shred. Haven't dared look ahead yet but I get the feeling L3 & 4 will be challenging.

Great to hear how well everyone is getting on. I'm really impressed by the lost cms - I didn't take measurements before I started shredding but will do that today to see any Ri30 impact. I'll also be watching to see if anyone has any tips on tightening up excess stomach skin - I still have that from when DS was born and he's now 11!
