I thought I had better start one seeing as no one else has.
Please add your updates, whether it is a New Year's Resolution to get fit or you have been here for the long haul!

I have just had two days off due to my lower abs being hugely painful, thing I must have pulled something the other day.
Hopefully back on it after the child goes to sleep.

Hope all is going well for the rest of you and you are all eager to go again when the kids are back at school. My poor DS1 starts back today!

So, I watched level 2 earlier and had to have a couple of biscuits with my tea to revive myself after. Going to give it a whirl in the morning but if there's a news story tomorrow about a woman in the South East who's unable to move off of her living room floor, that'll be me!

Don't think I'll be looking forward to the abs sections for a rest anymore.

Lindt70Percent · 21/01/2014 17:04

L1D10 done today. It was awful. Don't know why as it was a breeze yesterday. Had to stop for a few seconds in the second set of jumping jacks which are never usually a problem. Still feel a bit wheezy now.

Pelvic floor had gone to pot too. Blush

SallyFinkelstein I'll be attempting L2D1 tomorrow as well. I'm NOT looking forward to it. I haven't had the courage to watch it yet but I did this level back in the summer and remember something about travelling push ups and lots of plank stuff. Mind you, I also remember that I got to quite enjoy it so need to keep thinking about that. Hmm

Logg1e · 21/01/2014 18:41

L1D3 done.

DayAfterYesterday · 21/01/2014 20:28

day 7 done, did level 1 again and 30 mins davina. Going to stick to level one and davina for the next few days, then start level 2 offiically on sunday

PeppermintCream · 21/01/2014 20:30

Thank you tanukiton.

L3D1 done. I'm alive (just about) I found circuit 1 the hardest. Going to treat myself to a nice bubble bath - I dread to think how I'm going to feel tomorrow.

Well done everyone, keep in posting - it's really helped to motivate me - hope it's helping you too.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 21/01/2014 21:18

Can I join? Been doing L1 for a couple of weeks now, but started in old lady style (am 50 and have joint/muscular ishoos), and have just managed to do the full 20 mins including weights!
I still don't do jumping jacks or skipping (arthritis in the hip flares up), butit's making an amazing difference to my aches and pains and general strength and posture.
Last time I shredded I threw myself into it but caused so much pain subsequently it put me off. I just decided that this year I'd try exercising regularly for the whole year, and keep trying until I found something that didn't aggravate things and made me feel better, no matter how basic.
I definitely am phoning it in, but I reckon what I'm doing has to be better than the downward slope I'd be on otherwise; I'm not aiming for a body like Natalie's, just to be stronger, fitter and relatively pain free. Think I'll take measurements, though - I'd love to get rid of my newly-acquired spare tyre!
If I'm honest, I'd really love to move on to more challenging routines - but we'll see!

ErrolTheDragon · 21/01/2014 21:27

Welcome Shotgun! I'm 53 so less of that 'old lady' Wink - but seriously, regardless of age anyone with joint problems is wise to take your approach and do what you can do. Smile

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 21/01/2014 22:33

Thanks Errol. I didn't mean 50 was old lady I meant my version of the Shred looks closer to a 'Ladies' Health and Fitness' session than a kick-arse workout! Smile

tanukiton · 21/01/2014 22:39

d16 l2 d8 completed again a bit easier today.
ShotgunNotDoingThePans don't worry something is better than nothing. Do take measurements! I wish I had. I know I am shrinking as I managed to get my summer jeans over my butt! I could do them up too (but with a huge muffin top). My daughter also said she loved my belly pillow, in a wistful voice.
PeppermintCream love reading everyones posts as it keeps me on track :)

LakeFlyPie · 21/01/2014 23:31

Evening all.
Unplanned 2nd night off Blush
Did go for a swim but need to get back into L2 tomorrow evening.

Well done all you Shredders who aren't phoning it in.

officelady · 22/01/2014 06:53

Morning gang!
I forgot to check in yesterday, it was the end of Level 2 for me, so I re-did my measurements. 3lbs off since I started on 2nd January, 1 and a half inches off my waist and and inch off my hips. Half an inch off each thigh. I have definitely got better muscle definition on my stomach and arms too Grin
So this morning I started Level 3 (Day 21). Oh. My. God. The scissor abs thing was horrendous! And let's not mention the jumping lunges. Just about managed to do it Anita-style all the way through but let's just say there was a LOT of cheating and taking 5 second breaks.
I will ache tomorrow, I know it!

spinningirl10 · 22/01/2014 07:15

D10 L2 d4 done!

Off to the gym for some cardio later.

spinningirl10 · 22/01/2014 07:26

Officelady....well done one weight and inch loss! It's great motivation when you see your self shrinkingGrin

worldgonecrazy · 22/01/2014 07:28

Hi all. A visit to the GP has shown my knees to be knackered. The bones are grinding and that is causing the pain. It might be fixable with physio to realign the bones and tendons, otherwise its surgery, so no shredding for me until the problem is fixed.Sad Sad

I expect to catch up with you all next year when you are all fit and fabulous.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/01/2014 08:20

world - sorry to hear that but good you went to the GP.
Maybe you could find something that focuses on upper body and abs with no leg-work that you could do instead?

Logg1e · 22/01/2014 08:34

I too would be interested in hearing about an intense workout which protects the knees, but sorry to hear about your poorly knees Worldgonecrazy.

Great to read about the changes it's made you already officelady I really appreciate posts like that because they're so inspiring.

WillColbert · 22/01/2014 09:34

Sorry to hear that World but hope it gets fixed soon.

L1D3 of Ri30 done. I'm doing mostly Natalie moves - but that is because Natalie is the modifier in this level (and it's a different Natalie to 30 day shred).

Struggled to get going this morning but motivated myself by thinking about the improvement I've seen so far and also about this thread. I think some days just feel harder than others.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/01/2014 09:55

L2D3 done, plus my extra planks and inclined press-ups (3x16).

Nightwish · 22/01/2014 11:40

L3D5 done.
Day off yesterday as was at Uni, supposed to be there today but DS1 was sick in the night again so had to stay home.
Only 5 more days! Haven't bought a new DVD yet, considering redoing shred straight away with bigger weights and weights on cardio, making sure everything is Natalie style. Not sure yet though.

Best of luck for recovery of your knee World.

Lindt70Percent · 22/01/2014 12:27

Ouch worldgonecrazy, that sounds painful.

I've just done L2D1. It was ok-ish but I struggle badly with plank stuff as it hurts my wrists so much. Anyone got any ideas what I can do to help this?

I 'phoned in' a lot of it and was definitely more Anita than Natalie but I don't mind that.

On the positive side, I have lost 3lb since 30 Dec '13. I've lost 3cm off my waist since last Tuesday but nothing off my hips! I must be going for an hourglass shape - that'll be a first. Haven't measured any other parts of me so no idea what's happening there. Anyway, my jeans are now very comfortable and muffin top is pretty much gone. Smile

Nightwish · 22/01/2014 12:57

Lindt some people use weights to hold and balance on whilst doing the planks so your wrist isn't bent so much.

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 22/01/2014 13:42

Well done Lindt on weight and inch loss!!

World.....poor you, that sounds painful!! Can you swim or do something less strenuous?

Mumtoh · 22/01/2014 17:37

So I had a day off yesterday as felt really rough with this cold. But back on it today, did L1 again, let's say it was D7 as I had such a big break.

My knee was so sore today, I had to put my knee support on. Not usually that bad on L1, but even jumping jacks hurt today, and my calves also felt v sore. I think I will do a couple more days L1 and then move up, might even take my measurements again as I am impressed by you lot Envy

DayAfterYesterday · 22/01/2014 18:03

Day 8 done, was quite difficult today think my muscles are getting tired but got there

Logg1e · 22/01/2014 18:19

L1D4 and probably the laziest, phoney-ity-iny yet Sad
