I thought I had better start one seeing as no one else has.
Please add your updates, whether it is a New Year's Resolution to get fit or you have been here for the long haul!

I have just had two days off due to my lower abs being hugely painful, thing I must have pulled something the other day.
Hopefully back on it after the child goes to sleep.

Hope all is going well for the rest of you and you are all eager to go again when the kids are back at school. My poor DS1 starts back today!

Sally - well done! Its one of those things to remember when you don't feel like doing it, that you'll be pleased afterwards that you did.

wintersdawn · 16/01/2014 15:19

just done this for the first time today, my ankles clicked so badly with each jumping jack. please tell me I'm not the only one who's had this and my feet aren't about to fall off!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/01/2014 15:26

winters -welcome! hmm, TBH there's quite a few with dodgy knees but first time I've heard of ankles being a problem. You're wearing trainers, yes? If you think any move is damaging a joint don't do it - find some modification or substitute a lower-impact move like more of the boxing.

PeppermintCream · 16/01/2014 20:54

L2D7 done. Finding it hard to motivate myself at the moment, this thread is helping though, so thank you everyone.

I've eaten really badly today as well, think I need to give myself a talking to. Hmm

bountyicecream · 16/01/2014 21:21

L3d1 done. Had a rest day yesterday but also an enforced one tomorrow so had to force myself. Glad I did though :)

I hate hate hate jumping lunges and travelling push-ups. But did both sort of

Lindt70Percent · 16/01/2014 22:04

L1D7 today. Had a day off yesterday because I was feeling really miserable about it all, not sure why as I was feeling fine the day before! No idea how I'll fit in tomorrow yet. I don't like doing it with other people in the house (this all starting to sound a bit rude! Grin) but they'll be no avoiding that tomorrow or over the weekend and I can't have 3 days off.

Pelvic floor coped better today which was good. In hindsight I think my pelvic floor problems were behind my misery yesterday. Anyway, I've been doing all the exercises for that too and feel encouraged by today.

You all seem to be miles ahead of me and doing brilliantly, well done!

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 17/01/2014 00:02

Well I have had another day off, unplanned this time though as I just wasn't home all day to do it. Must must get back onto it tomorrow though!

At least I have had a reasonable try at a fast day today (am trying to get back into 5:2 atm as well, but easing myself in) - I stuck to it all day till I got offered a few nibbles at a meeting and didn't quite manage to turn them down, but still can't have been that far outside the limit so quite happy.

officelady · 17/01/2014 07:01

L2D16 has been done - and I persevered with the 2kg weights, even for the v-flys. OK so I didn't actually lift my arms for about 1 in 5 of them (sshh don't tell Jillian) but I jolly well did it. Yay me! Grin And I'm over halfway there now which is great.
Don't phone it in, people!!

spinningirl10 · 17/01/2014 07:02

D8 L2 d2 done!!

I have 2 days off now as we're going away today for the weekend.

JRmumma · 17/01/2014 07:38

I had an unplanned day off yesterday as i just didn't get time during the day and then we had to take DS to the doctors in the evening as he is unwell yet again. By the time we got home and got him settled it was too late and i was too tired to shred.

So I'm going to have to try and fit in a shred on at least Saturday or Sunday or im going to lose momentum.

worldgonecrazy · 17/01/2014 08:19

I had an enforced day off this morning and think I may have to drop the Shred for a while.

My knees were in agony all of yesterday evening, even when resting. There is a burning sensation just underneath the kneecap. I think I'm going to have to pay a visit to my GP and start getting it sorted.

Not doing exercise is NOT the answer, as I will become fatter, more unfit and cost the NHS a lot more in the long run. I need to get my knees fixed so that I can do exercise like normal people do.

SallyFinkelstein · 17/01/2014 08:33

D9L1 done. Rest day tomorrow and then last time on level one, eeek. I did two whole Natalie press ups today, the last one of each set. Check me out! Grin

ErrolI was ridiculously pleased with myself, even texted DH to tell him!

Lindt I'm on level 1 still (1 more day to go) and think there's a few others too.

InigoMontoya I'm trying to do 5:2 as well, a.though am allowing a bit extra for tea/coffee (with milk and 1 sugar) as I was getting migraines otherwise. Think I came in at around 800 yesterday after a slight chocolate orange incident last night. Blush

SallyFinkelstein · 17/01/2014 08:41

world Sorry to hear about your knees. Sad Definitely go to your GP, my husband has knee problems and had a physio referral a few years ago. The exercises he was given helped quite a lot and enabled him to join a gym which also helped.

DayAfterYesterday · 17/01/2014 09:08

Day 5 today for me, did level 2 yesterday for a change felt like I got a lot more of a work out than level one but didn't manage any Davina after not sure what combo I'm doing today yet... Will see how the day goes

spinningirl10 · 17/01/2014 10:25

World....definitely get to the doctors and get your knees sorted, not nice.

Sally.....well done on the full press upsGrin it's a great feeling when you can do that little bit more!

WillColbert · 17/01/2014 10:34

Couldn't fit shred in yesterday but back today having just completed L1D8 of Ri30. I feel ready to move onto L2 on Monday. I'd definitely recommend Ri30 so far if anyone's looking for another Jillian workout after 30 day shred - similar format but moves along a bit faster.

Well done to everyone for sticking with it - it's not easy to keep motivated but it really is worth it.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/01/2014 10:41

L1D10 done, plus 3x55 sec forearm plank, 3x20 inclined press-ups and 3x1:15 extended arm planks. Roll on L2, and I need to find something solid a bit lower than the kitchen table for next weeks inclined press-ups.

I'm doing 5:2 too - I love tea with milk, so I'm putting 300mls(105 cals) skimmed milk into a jug and including that in my fast day count.

I'm 1.2kg down from last week which was more than I expected! Smile

WhereAreMyShoes · 17/01/2014 13:45

I just attempted day 14 but both the kids woke from their naps so that scuppered my plan.
DP was also doing some HIIT alongside me.
Anyway, I'll restart tonight. After a two day break I'm feeling like my effort is slipping.
My knees seem to have recovered and are much stronger so I need to step up.

DayAfterYesterday · 17/01/2014 14:37

OK day 5 completed, did level 2 plus 15 mins cardio and 15 core ended with some ab work.

Plan is go back to level 1 tomorrow so I can mix it up a bit with another DVD not sure which yet and then Sunday REST

(Checking in here really helps a keep me motivated!)

JRmumma · 17/01/2014 16:13

Did circuit 1 of level 2 and then DS woke up. He is poorly do wont let me put him down, plus DH is working late tonight so don't think ill get it done today. Not happy!!!

ErrolTheDragon · 17/01/2014 16:28

Must be frustrating to be scuppered by non-napping kids.... my DD was sleep-averse so you have my sympathies.

JRmumma · 17/01/2014 17:22

Its annoying but I'm gonna persevere. I know its gonna take me well over 30 calendar days to complete but I'm determined to do 30 days even if it takes me till March! I'm trying to get back to the gym too so im not going to do the shred exclusively going forwards. I reckon 3 days a week, maybe 4 if i feel i don't need 2 rest days per week (and get the time!)

ErrolTheDragon · 17/01/2014 17:33

That's the spirit! Smile

PeppermintCream · 17/01/2014 17:44

L2D8 done. I've got a cold starting so I was struggling to breathe so I struggled with the cardio.

Treating myself this evening to fat food and alcohol
