Right, lets find all the park runners we have on here. I did my first park run on sat.

I am very impressed with my time of 33.18 :) I am ridiculously pleased with myself.

So park runners, where are you?

Thanks melanie. Do people wear trainers or do it barefoot?

MelanieCheeks · 24/08/2013 20:05

Trainers- it starts along a concrete promenade section before crossing the dreaded soft sand onto a pleasant hard sand section. Out to the rocks, turn and back, so across the soft sand again ( a killer at that point), and sprint along the concrete to the finish.

Newrowsees · 24/08/2013 20:07

No results for mine yet either Hmm I'm desperate to know my time!

Lizzylou · 24/08/2013 20:36

31.40, which is way off my pb but better than I expected after my break. Feeling rather happy.
But also rather Envy of runningbon a beach. A park in darkest east lancs hasn't the same cachet.

woundbobbin · 24/08/2013 20:44

I got a with my pram pb today (was quicker before dd) very nearly under 30 mins but not quite (next week) there were some ladies from slimming world giving out water at the end they gave me a balloon (I'm hoping for dd and not as some kind of hint) Smile

IsThatTrue · 24/08/2013 20:54

woundbobbin anywhere near 30 minutes with a pram is amazing well done. Grin @ the balloon, in sure there were no hints involved!

I am also Envy at beach running. I miss running along the beach up by my mums!

Thenightsky - my parkrun is wolverhampton; is it yours?! DH is laughing at me continually checking my phone bug I'm guessing it'll be the morning now.

Envy at beach running!

thenightsky · 24/08/2013 22:31

Mine is Scunthorpe.

Knackerelli · 24/08/2013 22:47

Not close at all then! Hope you get/ got your result and its what you wanted.

Bakingnovice · 24/08/2013 23:22

Just got my result. 41.22. Wohooooo. 2.30 off my first run last week. And I really thought I'd done badly. It's so hard to tell. I am unbelievably shocked and proud. I'd given myself 6 months to get into the 30's but am now aiming for 39 minutes. Ds knocked 2 mins off and came in at 27 mins. I love that we've found something we do together which we both love.

IsThatTrue · 25/08/2013 02:28

Well done to you and DS baking :)

Knackerelli · 25/08/2013 09:44

Well done everyone, great results! Mine was posted late last night; 30:38. A pb so happy with that!

IsThatTrue · 25/08/2013 10:43

Well done on your pb knackerelli

I am going for a run with a friend later as she's lost her running mojo. I doubt it will beat any of my pbs but at least I'll be out which I really don't feel like at the minute

Lizzylou · 25/08/2013 11:29

Well done Knackerelli and Novice and her ds Smile
Have been doing intervals on the treadmill this morning at the gym, really want to up my speed!

IsThatTrue · 25/08/2013 11:41

Intervals are great for speed lizzy good on you. My intervals have really helped my sprint finish at parkrun.

thenightsky · 25/08/2013 12:48

35.21 so a new PB for me! Well pleased.

IsThatTrue · 25/08/2013 12:59

Well done thenightsky

I love hearing of new pbs :)

Newrowsees · 25/08/2013 15:58

Got my result, finally. Unfortunately, no PB this week (10 seconds off), but I'm pretty happy with my time - shaving off a minute every time had to end some time. But intervals sounds like a good idea - I'm coming round to the idea of running more during the week, will give it a try before my next parkrun!

IsThatTrue · 25/08/2013 20:38

Well done for being that close to your pb newrowsees was it easier than last time? I'm sure you'll beat that pb soon.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/08/2013 20:55

Some fab results here Smile. No PB for me either - I was saving my energy for running home afterwards Grin.

Another 9 and three quarters today for me. 10 weeks exactly until my marathon!

holmessweetholmes · 25/08/2013 20:58

Got my result. Not a PB but a full two minutes faster than last week's feeble effort! Onwards and upwards. .. Smile

Iggity · 25/08/2013 21:13

Knackerelli - snap, same time as me! Congrats on PB!

Knackerelli · 25/08/2013 21:19

Yay, well done Iggity; fab time Wink

jellybrain · 25/08/2013 21:29

Did my 2nd parkrun this week ( first at my local park). Got chatting with some great people and looking fwd to catching them next week.
My time improved from 29:43 on my first run to 28:18 this week. I feel pretty good. Was kind of Blush to discover that I am a veteran.
I would like eventually to do a sub 25 but think I may have started too late.
What's a shred? Is it very hard work?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/08/2013 21:37

jelly - well done. Do you mean veteran as in age?

The shred is a Jillian Michaels DVD workout. There are often support threads about it. Yes, it's hard Grin, but it is really good for fitness and toning.
