I became I follower of The Shred in June. My reasons are below. Share yours and let's shred together! I lost 5lbs my first week combining the DVD with WW.

I'm a size 16-18, 13st5lbs, 5'8", flabby, wobbly, unfit and desperate to shift the back fat that's making my new correctly sized bra lumpy.

I want my toddler to stop burying her face in my fat belly and blowing raspberries that make my boobs jiggle.

I want my DH to comment my nice arse again.

I want my double chin to melt away.

I want to walk up 5 flights of stairs without lactic acid burning my thighs and being out of breath.

I'm not going to stop until I'm size 12, under 11st and feel like I love my body again. I've hated my body for the last 13 years and I want to look in the mirror and feel good.

Shred is phase one. If I have to do all of Jillian's programmes then so be it.

Day 13 done!

Killer.

I'm so chuffed when Jillian tells me I've done an a-may-zing job at the end Grin. I'm developing a bit of a crush on her I think, I saw some photos of her with her kids earlier and she looked so cool (and tiny!)

GoodtoBetter · 08/07/2013 21:25

I lurve Jillian. I loved her on the biggest loser.

icepole · 09/07/2013 05:06

Weekend was out for me, no time. I did level 2 today, going to swap it with 1 day about. Was hard!

GrimmaTheNome · 09/07/2013 09:02

I was all ready to start and then DH said we should go for a walk as it's so nice (we both work from home with flexible hours, lucky us!) so I had my brekkie... and then he decided we should go a bit later Hmm

I'll have to try to do it later. Well done the rest of you!

hillyhilly · 09/07/2013 09:43

I've just done level 2 for about the 4th time, I'm doing the shred 3-4 days/week and finding it ok but am despondent that I can't really see a difference and since I started doing it just in my bra and pants I can look down at my belly hanging while my thighs slap together during the plank jacks - it's really not making me feel great about myself! Plus I seem to be unable to get my weight down - pissed off all round, sorry for moaning!!

GrimmaTheNome · 09/07/2013 10:25

Day 15 done - half way there! Did level 1 as can do that barefoot. Blimey, I'm hot!

Weight loss isn't easy, is it - but hoping this weather will help, it does make a salad actually seem like a good idea rather than a penance.

IWillDoItInAMinute · 09/07/2013 12:11

L1D4 done - did it in bra and knickers like hilly. Much better, less sweaty but ISWYM, it doesn't do much for your self esteem Sad

Congrats Grimma on reaching the half way point, Wine but I suppose it's a little early in the day for that ?

And I don't care that Jillian wouldn't approve

GrimmaTheNome · 09/07/2013 16:46

I get by on Brew. DH eventually surfaced for our walk, which turned out to include lunch in the café in the park where I indulged in a FFS .

PessimisticMissPiggy · 09/07/2013 19:53

Hilly me too. Rather dispondent today. Weigh in tomorrow and despite trying really hard with this and WW I just know I've maintained again.

What's a girl got to do to shift some pounds!!!!

OverAndAbove · 09/07/2013 23:02

I've done 11 days of level 1 (by accident, I meant to do 10!) so tomorrow it will be level 2. I keep seeing mention of The Plank. Dreading it.

icepole · 10/07/2013 05:55

Did level 1, really didn't want too in the heat! Also kids will not leave me alone Confused. I have never recovered shape after birth of my second baby. First I did but only by under eating and I don't want to do that ever again. But am older now and it's all much harder.

OverAndAbove · 10/07/2013 06:59

Done day 1 of level 2. Oh my goodness I've got the wobbles.

PessimisticMissPiggy · 10/07/2013 07:20

Argh! I have maintained!

Did level1 again last night but really wasn't into it. It's hard in 40 degree heat. Had a stomach ache and really jaded so stopped about 2 thirds of the way thru. Sad

GoodtoBetter · 10/07/2013 07:35

I haven't lost any weight either and I'm not eating much in the heat and even cycling a bit on the way to work.

NoelHeadbands · 10/07/2013 08:28

Half way through for me today. Also disappointed- no weight lost, which I kind of expected, but no massive physical differences yet either.

I did wear a dress with heels yesterday and did a double take at my calf definition, which was nice....but tbh I could live with my skinny calves! Kinda like to lose some belly or some thigh please Grin

MrsBertMacklin · 10/07/2013 09:07

Morning. I really struggled yesterday and didn't complete Day 5. I got two thirds of the way through Circuit 1 and still wasn't feeling warmed up or getting into it, so I turned it off and treated yesterday as a rest day.

My weigh-in today - no weight lost or gained. Not surprising, as I went off-piste on the diet front at the weekend, so this wiped out the 2 pound loss I had earlier in the week.

Going to do Day 5 today in the evening.

Trazzletoes · 10/07/2013 09:58

Did day 1 of level 2 yesterday I can't even plank for 30 seconds let alone do anything else! I'm ashamed that I probably only managed half of it. I'm not very achy this morning so I suspect I really didn't push myself at all. Although at the time sweat was pouring off me and I could hardly stand up!

Feeling a little despondent that I was so rubbish!

GrimmaTheNome · 10/07/2013 10:17

Day 16 - I managed level 2 barefoot with the toe well plastered up, had to do the Anita moves for the plank jacks and - forget the name of the other thing, the bunny hop one to avoid landing awkwardly. Need to go and do some military presses to make up for the ones I can't do standing on one leg.

I really find the jump rope hard (definitely not doing double!) - I can do about 10 jumps and then have to rest a moment, my legs just won't do that.

I'm staying off the scales till Friday - I'm doing 5:2, tomorrow is a fast day. I'm done with stressing about weight though, I'm doing this because both the 5:2 and the workouts are making me feel healthier (once I was over the dead legs in the first 4 days).

BTW, that reminds me, I find I can do a much better quad stretch at the end if I put the spare hand on the arm of the sofa for balance - I'd already figured this out, Jillian could have done with mentioning this in level 1 rather than waiting till level 2.

NoelHeadbands · 10/07/2013 11:11

Jillian could have done with mentioning this in level 1 rather than waiting till level 2.

I thought exactly the same Grimma

FitByForty · 10/07/2013 12:57

Well I've done it. After many (far too many) months of procrastination, I have finally lost my Shred cherry Grin

It wasn't a pretty sight. There were things flapping about all over the place that I'm sure are not meant to flap. The warm up just about killed me off to be honest but I carried on. I discovered I'm not very good at jumping jacks (can't seem to get the co-ordination right) And as for bicycle crunches, well I'm not even going to go there.

But I did make it to the end. And I sweated for at least an hour afterwards. And with 6 weeks to go before this flappy body needs to be made public I am determined I will carry on (though not over this weekend cos I'm on a hen weekend).

So bring on L1D2 - I'm ready for you!!

GoodtoBetter · 10/07/2013 13:00

Well done Fit! It gets a biteasier. Grin

FitByForty · 10/07/2013 13:08

I'm so looking forward to it getting easier. Even just a bit Grin

Suprisingly, my legs feel ok today (I did it late last night). It's across my chest that feels like I've been run over by a bus. And that's after I abandoned the weights for a couple of the exercises.

IWillDoItInAMinute · 10/07/2013 13:24

L1D5 done today

I did the stupid thing of googling b4 and after shots of 30day shred. Lots of braver women than me posting pics Grin

Not so hot today so was a bit better. I don't want to be a 'cheerleader' but I noticed most people are feeling a bit down/disappointed. You are all doing brilliantly I'm sure -I hope- our wobbly bits are shrinking! Don't forget you might weigh the same but you've probably got more muscle/less fat.

Our great British summer is almost over, when the weather returns to normal the exercise will be easier!

Come on lovely ladies, if Andy Murray can win, so can WE!!

MrsBertMacklin · 10/07/2013 17:15

Thanks for motivating words, Minute I think they are needed, because we're all exercising in our pants! Not pretty, but I'm trying to use it to motivate me. And well done FitByForty for joining the Shreddies Smile.

The weather's slightly cooler, so hopefully everyone will have a better time of it when they do their workouts tonight if not already done.

I've just completed L1D5, too - except I thought I'd give L2 a try. Plank moves I think aren't too gruelling, I think they're just hard because they make you move in a way that you aren't used to? I lost balance 5 times & during circuit 3, had to do a modified version of the jack planks, because my hands were so sweaty they kept slipping away from me.

I was the sweatiest I've ever been after exercise when I was finished & calves, quads, shoulders and arms are aching; good.
