I became I follower of The Shred in June. My reasons are below. Share yours and let's shred together! I lost 5lbs my first week combining the DVD with WW.

I'm a size 16-18, 13st5lbs, 5'8", flabby, wobbly, unfit and desperate to shift the back fat that's making my new correctly sized bra lumpy.

I want my toddler to stop burying her face in my fat belly and blowing raspberries that make my boobs jiggle.

I want my DH to comment my nice arse again.

I want my double chin to melt away.

I want to walk up 5 flights of stairs without lactic acid burning my thighs and being out of breath.

I'm not going to stop until I'm size 12, under 11st and feel like I love my body again. I've hated my body for the last 13 years and I want to look in the mirror and feel good.

Shred is phase one. If I have to do all of Jillian's programmes then so be it.

Parts of L3 aren't that bad, IMO.

If anyone sees me doing the sumo thing I'll have to kill them though.

HellesBelles396IsDeeplyUncool · 24/07/2013 20:21

IWillDoItInAMinute my body fat mass has gone down 1.5kg - though I weigh the same. So relieved to see a difference! Thank you for your encouragement.

While out for tea, I was watching bootcampers doing burpies and sprints. Oh my word! If I struggle with press-ups, how would I ever manage those?!

NoelHeadbands · 24/07/2013 21:04

Fit me? No. Getting fitter though.

I actually tried to do C25k last year and couldn't get beyond week 1 as I struggled so badly with it. This time, I did about 10 days of Shredding before I had another bash, and the difference is marked. I still struggle Grin but I can feel improvements are being made

NoelHeadbands · 24/07/2013 21:05

Helles that's great

NoelHeadbands · 24/07/2013 21:06

As is Illustrateds new bum Grin

Well done all

karatekimmi · 24/07/2013 21:44

Hi all, mind if I gate crash?

I was planning doing 30DS in August but started today (first day of the summer holidays for me) I start a new job in September and hope to get a gorgeous new wardrobe to swan around in and also hoping to start trying for a little sibling for DS in Decemberish and would like to be less fat

L1D1 done, I've started before and got about 2/3rds through, although I've never done L3

I

IWillDoItInAMinute · 24/07/2013 21:58

Wow Helles that's brilliant!!

All this talk of C25K has me wondering...there's no point me starting it until September, but maybe Noel if I can keep on shredding until then, I might give it a go!!

This is the first time I've kept up an exercise program, you are all bloody brilliant and I couldn't do it without you -as I am a naturally lazy bugger-

And here's to Illustrateds lovely bum Grin

IWillDoItInAMinute · 24/07/2013 22:01

Welcome Kara well done for starting today!!

NoelHeadbands · 24/07/2013 22:05

Welcome karate, and well done for starting early! Jump right in, the more the merrier

This is the first program I've ever stuck to as well IWill, and this thread and you guys are spurring me on.

When I bring out my first fitness DVD I'll be sure to mention you all in the credits Grin

IWillDoItInAMinute · 24/07/2013 23:39

Grin @ Noel

Maybe we could be your "best girls"? I wanna do the Anita's though, any takers for Natalie??

GrimmaTheNome · 25/07/2013 10:12

Day 27 done.

IWillDoItInAMinute · 25/07/2013 19:09

Level 2 done

Had to wait until DH was back so could get the DCs out. I had a go this morning but I just can't do it if people are around

Level 3 tomorrow, oh Lordy Lordy what am I doing????

GrimmaTheNome · 25/07/2013 19:13

Level 3 tomorrow, oh Lordy Lordy what am I doing????

If I can (more or less) do it, you can. If you've time, take a quick look through to get an idea of the moves before you start and work out whether to do Anita or Natalie. (the one where you're in a plank with the weights on the floor I actually find N easier than A, oddly).

NoelHeadbands · 25/07/2013 19:41

Well done IWill , you'll be fine on L3. If I can do it, anyone can.

I think I've actually found L1 to be the most tortuous, probably because I was so unfit starting out.

HellesBelles396IsDeeplyUncool · 25/07/2013 20:04

I did not shred today Blush. I knew I would feel good if I did but I didn't for no better reason than I couldn't be bothered. I suspect tomorrow will be more exhausting as a result.

IWillDoItInAMinute · 25/07/2013 20:57

Thanks for the encouragementSmile

Great idea Grimma I'll take a look now.

Don't worry Helles try and get back to it tomorrow, a rest day is fine -but not a rest week like I did the first time I Shredded- Grin

IKWYM Noel I found Level 1 really hard going, but it probably had something to do with it being the first real exercise I had -ever- done in a long time

GrimmaTheNome · 26/07/2013 10:42

Day 28 done! And 60.5 kg this morning - 9.5 stone Smile. I'm slightly amazed by that as - apart from the 2 fast days - I thought I'd eaten loads this week. I was about 4kg heavier before I started the 5:2 so that's a good half stone in all.

DD was reading in the garden when I finished, she kindly offered to hose me down. I was quite tempted but the window cleaner showed up so I thought I'd better act vaguely my age.Grin

GrimmaTheNome · 26/07/2013 10:44

Oh, meant to say, I found L1 esp the first 4-5 days much the hardest. I think I will go back to it next week, maybe with the slightly heavier weights.

I borrowed one of DHs ten-pounders for the 'dumbbell clean' today

NoelHeadbands · 26/07/2013 11:55

Amazing job Grimma (channeling Jillian there) well done !

Day 27 here for me

GrimmaTheNome · 26/07/2013 12:01

You'll probably catch up or overtake me this weekend - never have time on Saturday and on Sunday we're taking DD off to an activity camp in the Malverns (hopefully DH, dog and I will have a walk there too, its lovely)

NoelHeadbands · 26/07/2013 13:21

Sounds lovely, enjoy.

Definitely taking a rest day tomorrow as its a friends hen do, may manage D28 on Sunday, may not

HellesBelles396IsDeeplyUncool · 26/07/2013 19:28

Shredded today so feeling much better after not doing it yesterday. The anterior raises continue to be ... problematic as do the jumps for the skipping. Otherwise, everything is getting easier. I'm even getting through the many many many sets of jumping jacks!

L1D5 is the charm Grin

IWillDoItInAMinute · 26/07/2013 20:09

L3D1 done - yes, um it is jumpy. DD caught me 2 minutes after finishing and told me I was red in the face, yes DD I was and also completely knackered!!

travelling push-ups ?????????? I just don't know what to say!

Grimma well done on the scales - fab news for you, encouraging for us !

I don't know how you've done it Noel and Grimma [awe emoticon]

Well done Helles for getting back on it

Have a lovely weekend everyone

NoelHeadbands · 26/07/2013 21:15

Sooooo jumpy Grin

Actually my most hated is the Supermans- I look like a fish out of water, literally Grin

Well done Helles and IWill and have a great weekend everyone!

GrimmaTheNome · 26/07/2013 22:54

don't know how you've done it
one day at a time!

As I can't do push ups properly I certainly can't do travelling pushups - I just carry on attempting to do ordinary ones. I don't find the various plank things too bad though.

I just calculated my BMI...if I can manage another kilo I'll be officially Not Overweight for the first time in a while.Grin
