I became I follower of The Shred in June. My reasons are below. Share yours and let's shred together! I lost 5lbs my first week combining the DVD with WW.

I'm a size 16-18, 13st5lbs, 5'8", flabby, wobbly, unfit and desperate to shift the back fat that's making my new correctly sized bra lumpy.

I want my toddler to stop burying her face in my fat belly and blowing raspberries that make my boobs jiggle.

I want my DH to comment my nice arse again.

I want my double chin to melt away.

I want to walk up 5 flights of stairs without lactic acid burning my thighs and being out of breath.

I'm not going to stop until I'm size 12, under 11st and feel like I love my body again. I've hated my body for the last 13 years and I want to look in the mirror and feel good.

Shred is phase one. If I have to do all of Jillian's programmes then so be it.

Rest day -again- for me. I've been on my feet since 7 this morning, they hurt !!! Back to it tomorrow. Can't do it tonight as DD has a sleepover. Can you imagine her shame if one of her friends caught me shredding Grin. I don't think I could manage it anyway. I am knackered !!!

Illustrated I had the same thought yesterday. This go at 30 day is helping, but I know it won't be enough, I'll need something. Also this thread is really helpful, I'll probably need another one if this one has finished Sad

Grimma I haven't been to consiston for a few years, 'twas beautiful Smile

IWillDoItInAMinute · 21/07/2013 00:05

Me too Noel, I was intrigued by her yoga DVD but I might just Shred again as it really is changing my body shape.

Jillian (as I'm only on L2 it's still Jillian) has stated that if I work like Natalie I'll have a body like Natalie's. I think a few years of shredding and I might -in my dreams- have those legs Grin

HellesBelles396 · 21/07/2013 10:08

Hello. I have done - or very nearly done thanks to my dad coming round- my first 30 day shred workout. I missed the last strength/core workout.

I was wondering, is this a daily workout? Also, do any of you add extra stretches? The ones on the dvd are sparse.

Because I am fat and arthritic, I swapped to very vigorous marching when the jumping was hurting my knees and feet but, hopefully, as I lose weight, that won't be as much of a problem. Has that been the case for anyone on here?

Should I swap to level 2 when I feel level 1 is jo lonher as much of a challenge - no matyer hos long that takes?

NoelHeadbands · 21/07/2013 10:24

Hi Helles. I've just moved into L3, I think I've had three 'rest' days so far.

I just did the 10 days of L1 and moved up (and so on). Tbh I think if I waited until each level was no longer a challenge I'd still be on L1!

NoelHeadbands · 21/07/2013 10:30

I don't do extra stretches no, but I think it'd be a good idea, the DVD ones are as you say, sparse.

My problem is that by the end of the last stretch I'm just ready to flop out for several minutes

HellesBelles396 · 21/07/2013 12:08

It is a full blast workout!! I liked the fact that it was soonover but still energetic enough to burn some calories and give me the good ache.

NoelHeadbands · 21/07/2013 13:40

I did Day 1 of Level 3 yesterday and today the muscles in my waist at the sides are sore.

Im always impressed when a different set of muscles start to ache, makes me feel like I've done more Grin

Not done D2 yet, but I did run this morning. I'm trying to do C25k as well, but I'm not that far in- about to start Week 3. It's probably a bigger challenge than the Shred for me, I have never been a natural runner. I struggle.

Is anyone else doing C25k?

IWillDoItInAMinute · 21/07/2013 15:26

L2 D6 done

Something very exciting happened this morning. It was cooler so I pulled out a pair of jeans to wear, I pulled out the pair I bought that didn't fit because of my mum -crisps&choc- tum and thunder thighs. I thought I would give them a go. I managed to put them on and do them up!!!! Not comfy enough to wear but they were on !!!!

I must be more toned [over the moon emoticon]

It's working, it's actually working !!!!!!!!

HellesBelles396 · 21/07/2013 17:03

Fantastic iWillDoItInAMinute! That's so muh kore meaningful than numbers on the scales.

IWillDoItInAMinute · 21/07/2013 20:15

Thanks HellesBelles Smile

I also forgot to mention that I managed to do a few of the leg lowering ones and the leg kick military presses, about 5 before wobbling all over the place Grin

NoelHeadbands · 21/07/2013 22:11

Well done IWill

Day 22 completed. I officially can't do Rock Star jumps, nor that bloody jump lunge thing.

IWillDoItInAMinute · 21/07/2013 22:16

Thanks Noel, they sound scary Shock

PessimisticMissPiggy · 21/07/2013 22:27

Checking in. I'm starting back on L2 tomorrow.
Well done everyone who has carried on during the heat wave - I've not been able to hack it.

Please can someone nag me tomorrow AM. I should have been on Day 2 of Level 2 by now but have actually spent this weekend eating tapas & drinking beer. The plan is to get up and Shred first thing, so I should have posted on here by 11am tomorrow!

NoelHeadbands · 21/07/2013 22:39

Doesn't matter MissPiggy, just get right back on it. Must admit, between the Shred and C25K I'm probably going to be bankrupt by autumn- must be costing us a fortune in water, electricity and shampoo!

mrstalbear · 21/07/2013 23:08

Hi, just checking in on d5l1. All those who told me it got better were right! Felt much better today and almost thought I could have done something else after!
I think i may use level 1 as a warm up when I get out running again.

Have lost 2kgs this week and 2in from waist, 1/2 inch from hips and just over 1/2 inch from each thigh! All since last Monday! :-)

Bring on day 6!

icepole · 21/07/2013 23:37

Major falling off of wagon!! Just too hot! Level 2 done today Smile

NoelHeadbands · 22/07/2013 07:44

Well done mrst Smile

Nice one icepole, now where's that MrsBert??

GrimmaTheNome · 22/07/2013 09:49

Well done MrsT - you should never have doubted us !Wink Blimey, that's impressive.

Day 24 done. Noel, those jump lunge things are hard - I'm trying to do them but slower so I can get my balance and sort myself out in between. Rock star jumps ...I do them like a real rock star. You know, given they're all OAPs now Grin

IWillDoItInAMinute · 22/07/2013 10:07

MrsB I hope you are shredding as I type !!!

Well done everyone, Grin @ Grimma and did you get stuck in a car park this weekend??

I was all over the place this morning, pendulum lunges were terrible and I just can't do double jump rope Sad

IWillDoItInAMinute · 22/07/2013 10:10

L2 D7 done Blush

HellesBelles396 · 22/07/2013 11:01

L1.2 done. Really hoping it gets easier! Not all of the raises made it to eye level on the second set of reps and that last set of jumping jacks suffered as a result. Still it felt good :)

GrimmaTheNome · 22/07/2013 11:26

did you get stuck in a car park this weekend??
no, we got there earlier to choose place carefully, and anyway this time we took a cool box so we bought enough at the simply M&S for tea before we came home so we wouldn't have minded too much.

MrsBertMacklin · 22/07/2013 12:43

I've not done it yet. In my defence, I didn't get to bed until 3 last night and only woke up an hour ago. I'll definitely be doing it before dinner tonight though, I'm actually feeling the absence of exercise this morning.

mrstalbear · 22/07/2013 12:59

L1D6 done, I think I am starting to enjoy this or have at least stopped gasping at jillian that she is a b!

I managed to rope a friend into starting at the same time and so far the competition has kept her doing it. I keep telling her that in 30 days we will be slim and toned and gawjus!

Well done everyone! Smile
